Thanks for this great tutorial, it was really helpful! I used it and added one extra column 'End' to indicate the end date of the recurring task. Then I made an automation that changed the Status to 'inactive' once that end date was hit. In this way, I can automatically stop the recurring task. Hope this little addition is helpful for you and your followers.
Thank you for this video. Can this be done whereby there are two tasks (Task 1 and Task 2) and Task 2 is dependent on Task 1? When the date to reoccur arrives, both Tasks get moved and maintain their dependency?
Hey Jake, Yes that could be done. I've built something very similar where tasks get automatically created, then dependencies setup between the tasks that get fired off when the task it was dependent on gets completed. I recorded a video on it just now and it'll be live on my RUclips channel within a few hours :)
Hey Gideon! Fantastic video. I am running into an issue and would love your feedback. My automation is working (YAY!) but instead of pushing the new item's due date forward one month, it is pushing the original item's due date forward one month. I have my automation set up just like yours. Thoughts? Advice?
Hey Rikki, Glad you were able to get it running (or at least partly)! Regarding your issue - the key is that you build it all in one automation, first creating the item in the second board, then changing the all the date columns forward by X month. For example, if we want a task to get created every month on the 1st - say "Send Email Update to Client" then the automation sequence in the setup board would go as follows: When 'to-do date' arrives, then create an item in X board, and push the 'to-do date' date (of the current board) forward by 30 days, and the 'due date' forward by 30 days. You're correct in that it changes the date of the current board forward by one month, but it already created the item in the other board, so it doesn't matter anymore. There are multiple ways of doing that. 1) you can setup a automation in the target board that "When new item gets created, assign PERSON X as owner" 2) Create a status or tag on the trigger board that defines who it's going to get assigned to. For example, have a status and call it "Owner" then have each person as a dropdown. Then in the target board setup an automation "When {owner} changes to assign as owner" There are other easier ways using third party integrators (I like Make.com) that make it a lot cleaner, but those are two options to do it inside of Monday.com Hope that helps! Nice !. How do you assign a person then to that item you created in the target board ?

Thank you, this was exactly what I was after. Its a shame you are unable to test/run now the automations.
SUPER HELPFUL!!!!!!
