Everything about Monday is challenging IMO. I do appreciate the insight into other tools though. (I’m a clickup fan but briefly look at both Monday and infinity … both not going to cut it for me. Also I was a Process Street fan before ClickUp. )
@@caitiebringerofjoy7775 I just watched the video from Monday about how to work with recurring tasks and its working so i guess you need to update your video now
Totally agree, notification method is no bueno. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the work for us and showing me what I was looking for exactly!
Thank you that was so helpful! I hate how they want to charge an additional fee to use their automations app when it seems like it should just be a basic function of a work management app.
Really helpful video, explained and presented really well. Recurring tasks does seem to be one of the top reasons for having management software. New to Monday, was hoping to find a simple solution for managing a small sub contractor business but so far googles free options are almost as good. Keep notes, tasks, calendar, sheets, gmail and so on 🤔
Great video! Thank your effort, you explained everything very well. I was very close to quitting on Monday for recurring tasks and just use a recurring meeting in calendar or something like that. Als, I think your 5th solution is as close to perfect as it gets.
This was great! The monthly recurrence once DONE also needs to move to a monthly group for items done WHILE and at the same time being pushed back to recurring item with new due dates. Doable?
Hey Carolina! Good question! Currently, I think ClickUp has good options for recurrences. ClickUp recurrences are not perfect by any means, but they do provide a lot of flexibility. You can set tasks to recur Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and on Custom Schedules.
@LaylaPomper Awesome video, your step-by-step is solid, Thanks. How do you add 1 more layer to #5 and trigger when a due date occurs or is past to reset the task to "Working on It" and change the due date to Push to the next business date? When does the "EVERY DAY" occur? Midnight? My Syntex that is not working is: Every Day, if "Date" has passed and only if "Task Type" "Is" "Daily" then set "Status" to "Not Started" and then clear "Date Completed" and then push "Date" by "1 Business Day"
Very nice video and nicely explained. Can you explain how to get the frequency column? It's not one of the choices provided and it doesn't come up when I searched for it.
Speaking about daily activities, I want to change the status and update the date, but I want this only when the day changes (at 12:00 a.m.), if the day is equal to the current day, it does have to change
Hi Layla, great video. It unlocked so much for me. That said, I still can't figure out how to create history for my recurring tasks for audit trail purposes. I know that Activity Log is there, but wanted something within my board, any thought?

Hey Clive! Thanks for the comment! This channel actually isn't associated with ClickUp (Maybe someday it will be -- that'd be cool!) so I'm producing content based on the topics (or tools) that folks ask for. In other words, don't worry! We're still going to be continuing to produce content AND services (like our Membership) tailoring to ClickUp for as long as it provides value to you and our audience. ProcessDriven's job is to help teams strengthen processes -- regardless of what tool someone likes best. 🙂
Why do you need a video with "work arounds" - It seems to me that if people are looking for a video like this the developers should make an easy way to do this without all the work arounds.
😂 Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere! BUT I am experimenting to see if some of our frameworks can work across platforms because strong processes aren't/shouldn't be software-dependent. :)
@@LaylaPomper These apps should make your life easier, not harder. I'd rather stay with my favorite TickTick in which I can set custom repeating cycles in couple clicks.
@@tosha420Just looked into this... it's seems so much easier and intuitive even compared with todoist! Not sure if I'm going to invest in paying for a plan but I hope this is the app I've been looking for. It seems great for personal use but not really for teams.
My team is sticking to paper because these apps are such a pain. Tried the first workaround, didn't work. Already invested too much time into this. Tired of counter-productive productivity apps. There shouldn't even be words like 'database' use for average people.
Anyone else think these workarounds are little challenging? 🤯 I can't wait until the "perfect solution" happens!
