"Niggaz is dating white women" took me all the way out cause that's true 🤣🤣

On god bruh. I watched that interview he did and I’m thinking, “damn it’s like this nigga’s whole identity is about race.” Whole brand about race, leave supreme on some black power shit. Then these niggas turn around and procreate/marry white women. These niggas aint shit lol. Alsoooo they’re stupid, they could’ve easily done a collab with dude and conveyed their message more subtly and with tact. It’s about tapping the subconscious.

It’s funny how some Mfs is so pro black but whole time they’re married/dating a white woman.

Let’s be clear, Supreme was born out of skateboarding culture.

    • @usernameaz602
      @usernameaz602 11 месяцев назад +1

Yeah. A real specific part of skateboarding culture.
That drew from the culture of surfing.
And not the surfing that brought Giget to the beach or Elvis to Blue Hawaii.
      Buttons begets it all.

i see both sides but at the end of the day, i disagree with having black trauma art put on t shirts. especially shirts that sell for $150 bucks! making a whole clothing brand off our historical pain and trauma ain’t cool smh.

Tf do u mean “u guys”? U dont know if that guy owns any supreme. Black people did not make supreme what it is. Supreme was built by a variety of skateboardsrs. Separating it by race is retarded.

I grew up liking supreme because of the movie kids but the first “famous” people I remember wearing it were the odd future kids and asap mob kids who were all obviously black so I definitely would say black culture is what made supreme huge

It’s crazy because I watch an interview of him talking about when they was trying to shut his ideas down but once he started talking about some of his ideas I was like hell nah lmaooo😂 wtf. Trauma Art is definitely not encouraging, enjoyable, or thought provoking as people want it to be. To me it’s literally the most basic way of saying I’m not creative at all lol. Tired of the lame shit. I’m glad y’all talked about it and expressed it in away that was thoughtful. I’m definitely gonna be tuning in for me. Keep doing y’all thing 💯

Agreed. If he was really passionate about this being seen, he has his own successful line where he can put these images out. This was an attempt to get to the C-Suite level and uncover microaggressions and racism that didn't exist to take down the brand. When that didn't play out the way he wanted, he pushed an agenda that he could bring back to the people and say, see! don't support them they aren't for us. Kanye taught him well (joking) The person who went on sabbatical around the time where this was supposed to drop was smart, they didnt want to be connected with Supreme if this came out.

couldn't have summoed it up better also the fact that he's calling out systematic racism in this big companies when his friend virgil had prodemently an all white staff working at off white is hilarious. Hell he even said kanye west had mainly all white women working at yeezy........ like bruh you aren't practicing what you preach. you never called this shit out years ago until recently because how quick we are to get emotionally invested in these topics.

I'm a lil late to the situation, I'll be honest. I personally no longer follow or support supreme. Nor do I follow denim tears. I think y'all were completely on point with your takes. I've heard his side of things and it seems like he pulled the race card cause he didn't get as much control as he originally thought he was going to have over the brand. BUT yo it sent me to learn he married a white woman. Who previously worked for supreme and has lots of connections in the fashion industry. Like she's pretty well known in the fashion world apparently. Which also goes with out saying she got a good amount of money. Imma die if I find out she bankrolled denim tears 😂

at no point in the interview where Tremaine talked about all this did he- or the interviewer bring up what Supreme is really about at its core. They kept referencing collaborations, and moments in the brands history- but not one talked a single time about what Supreme is supposed to actually be about. it started off the back of skaters (white+west coast+surfer boy adjacent) in New York (cultural melting pot) and seeing what their live and experiences were like living in that city with their influences coming up through the years. Tremaine really tried to make it seem as though all Supreme does is hip hop and black culture.

Respect ot Tremaine Emory & Denim Tears. But his position on using trauma images on t-shirts for a streetwear skate brand like Supreme and protesting on them stopping the line is disingenuous at best. It's righteous indignation misdirected especially when his personal choices are way less than Black nationalistic (basically as bro said, he deals with solely white chicks and is engaged to one). T. Emory seems to aspire to be a an art provocateur like Kanye but with less daring or fearlessness. I wish Emory and his brand the best.

I can imagine kids all around with tee-shirt depicting lynching, whatba good idea.
Kanye did the same withe confedarate flag and I can tell you,
the first time you see an hypebeast rocking a confederate flag, you feel like someone sold you out for the bag.

The irony in this video is crazy, calling this season one of Supreme‘s best and that they have lines again? it was Emery‘s season!! lmao, this whole season is gonna be his work. This video is 4 weeks old, a lot of new info came out like James Jebbia green lighting the Jafa collab a long ass time ago then of course canceling it without telling Tremaine. Also, everyone keeps talking about Jafa, Jebbia didn’t let Tremain be an actual Creative Director, and had been getting in the way this whole time. Supreme is a white run company, so how does that look, a Black Creative Director who has his hands tied by a bunch of white culture vultures. I don’t know why we got to keep missing the target when it comes to this situation. If we remove all our differences of opinion with Tremain and imagine ourselves being Creative Director at Supreme, it becomes clear that it sucks watching white culture vultures pretend they have Black employees in “positions of power“.

They mention going out to buy from these drops when the drops they’re mentioning were kinda buns except the DOOM stuff. They also mention, oh you’re going the Kanye path with trying to bring to light issues but say… Nah we ain’t trying to hear that, this isn’t the appropriate time when supreme is peaking at the moment. That shit is wild to me, tremaines imagery isn’t corny (I wouldn’t wear it either) but these guys are
