  • Hope everyone had a great Australia Day celebration this year, whether it was a sizzle on the barbecue. a few beers with friends or watching fireworks, it’s all about coming together as one united front and celebrating and reflecting on our journey towards becoming an Australian citizen.
During this time I was onboard the P&O Pacific Encounter with a few friends of mine, it was a Moreton Island return with a D tour of South East QLD and Northern NSW, to fill the 4 night duration onboard. From 23/1/24 to 27/1/23, I recorded this video which mainly focuses on the important areas of this ship (not every room was included), the destination and how Australia Day was celebrated onboard.
On January 25th, the ship anchored near Tangalooma, Moreton Island and I went for a swim near the ship wrecks and did a quad bike tour off camera. I didn’t film as much on this trip as I was mainly focused on enjoying the experience itself.
On Australia Day, there were flags, signs, food (such as fairy bread, lamingtons and other desserts) and photos of Australian wildlife around the Pantry Restaurant. There were many people wearing Aussie flag outfits, as well as staff wearing green and gold T shirts that read “Celebrate Australia Day”, plenty of paraphernalia being sold onboard, there were towel animals and posters near the cabin rooms, a free sausage sizzle and a performing band covering Australian classics, such as John Farnham, Men at Work and Cold Chisel at the Top Deck.

The clips were recorded mostly on my phone, some on my GoPro.
It was a good budget getaway experience for the event.
    Thanks For Watching
