I started going up this trail back in 1973 first in 73' Scout II 4x4, was pretty smooth , In 1977 drove a 2 wheel drive F150 up . Looks pretty rough today

It changes all the time. It has changed over the years I have been going up the trail. The last time I went up this trail I didn't enjoy it at all. It has been ruined for me personally.

First time I went up was way back in 1990 wife and I went up in my 2WD ford pickup F-100 I had snow tires Father in law threw 2 sacks of 100 lbs sand bags in the back for better traction he said let the tires down to 20 lbs it did the trick. Few spots we had to put rocks down hardly anyone in those days went up there. No one except for a few dirt bikes eventually leave them behind at the switch backs. No cell phones we took enough water to last at least 4 days we would call my FIL that night if we didn't call he come looking for us. Also back in those days the Ora Belle mine still had some buildings there we look at. All that is gone now vandalized over the years but much worse in the last 10 almost all the good old mines are wrecked by the Side by Side crowd.

Been going up this for years now I have nice jeep 37" tires 4" lift lockers I can do every obstacle on this one now days it's much worse with traffic then it was even in 2017. I did take it up in the rain back in January the mud was crazy took be 3 days to clean it up. I still was able to do all of them again even in the mud I took my tires down to 12lbs which makes the ride so much nicer. Most people who have trouble don't air down enough not at all just have no clue about it wonder why tires spinning on rocks.

Trail is definitely moderate level when it's late in the season and the ruts had plenty of time to deepen. Did this on my 800GS Adv. I rode the left side up on turn around hill, real slim slice of real estate. I wouldn't do that ride again on a heavy bike. Think it took me more than 8hrs there and back, 4 liters of water and I was in better shape. A quad or SxS would be pretty fun. Great footage and commentary.

Good stuff, how does your can am compare to the quad you had in the older footage? Seem like you went right up the hill without any problems.👍

Well the hill has changed a lot since then. The path to the right was not there at all and half of that hill is missing in my new video. Where I am standing in the old video is where I started this last time. This quad is better in a lot of ways but that one I was on was pretty bad to the bone. It was a semi automatic. They don't even make one like that now. I modified that quad a lot. Also made the front and rear bumpers myself. The rear bumper is my own invention. It would fold down so you could use it as a toilet. Go back and take a close look at the rear bumper. I will be making one of those again for this new quad soon.

Little me not sure if I would want to even try to make that stretch of rough road. I ant anyone sissy, but that will separate the men from the boys rather quickly. Would definitely not try it alone with no one to help me.

I see dogs in those UTV's a lot. They seem to be happy. I even see some owners who have made goggles and harness for em. I have a video I made somewhere of a dog riding on a street bike just loving life. LOL
