This is so underrated to the point it won a rasberry for worst song. But not this for Marry the Mole. Which it wasn't bad, but I think during this time Disney came out with some really good movies so this one didn't get as much appreciation.

I love how Cornelius gently swoops his arm around her waist at 0:25 to make sure she is safe. And then later, Thumbelina runs her hands in his hair and over his neck. All the little touches they animated here and there really make this scene lovely. It genuinely feels like they love each other. ❤

Everyone just loves Thumbelina :3 Any version of it I think is amazing it has so many life lessons. It shows even when you feel like your the only one all alone and scared you truly aren't alone and that there's someone out there for everyone. That there's a lot out there and that the world is a big place full of possibilities. People can fight over your love like Mr.toad and the mole or some people can think you're ugly like the beetle it shows beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that people can love for the wrong reasons. My god I can go all day. I love Thumbelina, Mulan, and Pocahontas they send the strongest messages in life lessons.
So beautiful this song. Brings back my childhood. His voice though, hitting those high notes and octaves. Gary Imhoff definitely out sang Jodi Benson here. But the song as a whole was brilliantly done and put together.
Okay so I retraced a statement I made ealier, cause I confused the dates. I thought Aladdin came out after Thumbelina not before. Anyway its kind of annoying how some people are comparing "A Whole New World", to "Let Me Be Your Wings". Two different songs two different scenarios no comparison what-so-ever. Plus if I'm being honest I feel this song has more passion and love in it than "A Whole New World" ever did.
I feel like that too, mostly cause Cornelious is using his own strength to carry Thumbelina around instead of using a vehicle ( k he did use a bumble bee in the beginning but I think you get my point ), and the fact that Thumbelina expressed her happiness through her face better than Jasmine, and plus, Thumbelina and Cornelious hold each other from the beginning till the end unlike Jasmine and Aladdin where they hold hands only in the end, I felt like that's what makes it more magical than A Whole New World, my opinion anyway haha...

If that were the case I could come up with a few comparisons myself but I do because each move, live action, animated or CG its different and unique. Ty Nunya to me Aladdin sequence was sweet, but it didn't hit the romantic feeling like Thumbelina did, Jasmine didn't look like she's all that impressed like Thumbelina wide and big smile expression, they like to compare Don Bluth with Disney because well...Don Bluth was considered a failure when this movie came out, so like many people, they assume and accuse that Don Bluth copies Disney ideas ( because apparently only Disney can ever think of a scene where a guy brought his mew girlfriend to see the world etc etc )
I think it was because at one time Don Bluth did work for Disney animation studios and every time he came to the head of the department with an Idea for a movie they rejected him. So he cut ties and pursued his own works and made hits. Not everyone will like them and will be fans. But I think that's why and where the comparisons come from.

Props for this movie being about both parties being in love from the beginning, not just the girl pining away for the boy that doesn't notice them at first.
The pumpkin part at 1:24 gives me goosebumps even when I watched this as a child. When my first fictional crush Cornelius' voice builds up and a Saturn ring actually forms around a levitating pumpkin! This shot is so clever!

I love how Cornelius gently swoops his arm around her waist at 0:25 to make sure she is safe. And then later, Thumbelina runs her hands in his hair and over his neck. All the little touches they animated here and there really make this scene lovely. It genuinely feels like they love each other. ❤

Everyone just loves Thumbelina :3 Any version of it I think is amazing it has so many life lessons. It shows even when you feel like your the only one all alone and scared you truly aren't alone and that there's someone out there for everyone. That there's a lot out there and that the world is a big place full of possibilities. People can fight over your love like Mr.toad and the mole or some people can think you're ugly like the beetle it shows beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that people can love for the wrong reasons. My god I can go all day. I love Thumbelina, Mulan, and Pocahontas they send the strongest messages in life lessons.

So beautiful this song. Brings back my childhood. His voice though, hitting those high notes and octaves. Gary Imhoff definitely out sang Jodi Benson here. But the song as a whole was brilliantly done and put together.
Okay so I retraced a statement I made ealier, cause I confused the dates. I thought Aladdin came out after Thumbelina not before. Anyway its kind of annoying how some people are comparing "A Whole New World", to "Let Me Be Your Wings".
Two different songs two different scenarios no comparison what-so-ever. Plus if I'm being honest I feel this song has more passion and love in it than "A Whole New World" ever did.
I feel like that too, mostly cause Cornelious is using his own strength to carry Thumbelina around instead of using a vehicle ( k he did use a bumble bee in the beginning but I think you get my point ), and the fact that Thumbelina expressed her happiness through her face better than Jasmine, and plus, Thumbelina and Cornelious hold each other from the beginning till the end unlike Jasmine and Aladdin where they hold hands only in the end, I felt like that's what makes it more magical than A Whole New World, my opinion anyway haha...
XD Yeah I understand that. It's my opinion too, but I guess I feel some anger towards the comparison because its just that. Why compare? Why not let it be? If that were the case I could come up with a few comparisons myself but I do because each move, live action, animated or CG its different and unique.

Ty Nunya to me Aladdin sequence was sweet, but it didn't hit the romantic feeling like Thumbelina did, Jasmine didn't look like she's all that impressed like Thumbelina wide and big smile expression, they like to compare Don Bluth with Disney because well...Don Bluth was considered a failure when this movie came out, so like many people, they assume and accuse that Don Bluth copies Disney ideas ( because apparently only Disney can ever think of a scene where a guy brought his mew girlfriend to see the world etc etc )
I think it was because at one time Don Bluth did work for Disney animation studios and every time he came to the head of the department with an Idea for a movie they rejected him. So he cut ties and pursued his own works and made hits. Not everyone will like them and will be fans. But I think that's why and where the comparisons come from.
