Laurels to you Ms Trehan for this brave choice of subject, however, the title of this clip should've been "Can you take it Ms Madhu Trehan?". Mr Gautier has been with our people, and he is just trying to convey the anger he has felt as an outsider, unburdened by any political compulsion, so it helps us in finding a solution. Bullying him because of his lack of proficiency in a certain language one is comfortable with is, well, bullying and ain't done.
This man contradicts himself galore. He says Hindutva is must for India, and he says he is not a fundamentalist! He says Indian PM must be ruthless like Chinese leaders, but India should not become like China. If you have a few more of his ilk, RSS and BJP may not need spokespersons!!

His is the clarity of thought of an unbiased man , ability to relate to the truth as unfolds before him and understanding of the reality of human life. The words he used at the beginning - upper class education, not knowing the world , setting out to become a human - comes across consistently all thru the interview. Compare that to this lady and her ilk, arrogant because of education, zilch empathy for the common people and their desires, and shallow understanding of the context and import of western socio political concepts. Shame !!
What does this lady mean by hindus demanding thru logic and emotion the minority to be indian first? Was that not understood when they chose to stay back than migrate to Islamic land of Pakistan? The hindus shackled for 1000 years, if they wish to revive their glorious past in their own land, does that become anti minority? What is this minority protection that people like this lady are parroting? Constitution assures protection to their religion, and no Hindu has ever questioned it. This is an amazing interview. Mr Gautier's experiences when he first came and travelled throughout India were really moving.. However, I would have to disagree with his point on the need for a militant Hindutva - we, as a nation, need someone with that fiery spirit and nature as Swami Vivekananda, and not some weapon wielding goonda - which is what this militant Hindutva concept finally ends up being, in everyone's minds.
I disagree with you. Basically not all humans are made same. Not everyone can be Swami Vivekananda. I'm sure even you will agree to that, if not then what can they be? You are dealing with a huge percentage of people who does not even understand what self-introspection is. How do you deal with them? Slap another cheek attitude will leave with no cheek to slap in future. Peace and reasoning should always be given first chance, not just first chance but even a 100 chances but after that no more. 90% of Hindu's can never be militant minded and even those who are militant minded, they are not interested in going out and killing everyone who does not agree with them.
