Why are people always complaining about ads? It’s wild that people think creators should be making DAILY free content without a way to make income. RUclips Premium exists if it bothers you that much, folks.
It’s entitlement, pure and simple. And you aren’t even being made to purchase anything. No content creator worth their salt can keep going long term without it, unless they are some trust fund kid doing RUclips for fun and attention
I think people complaining about ads is only happening during the livestream and not during vlogs. I can see how the ads might be annoying during a live stream like this because you feel like you’d miss conversation. I pretty much only ever catch replays so it makes no difference. I also agree that “paying the price” is watching the ads to make sure the vloggers we love make money to be able to do this full-time.
I have no problem watching multiple short ads. Feels like TV to me. I will absolutely skip the 45+ second ads and I have my ad settings pretty limited to categories so I find the same long ads come up over and over for me, so I will skip those long ones. Otherwise I do try and let them play because that’s how RUclips revenue works. It’s literally paying the price with your time.

Not sure if anyone commented on the jellybeans, but in another RUclipsr's video of the lights on tour of the houses they said each house had a candy or food related code word during the design phase to keep things under wraps. Now each house has that food somewhere inside.

About the DoorDash thing - I once ordered some sushi and a smoothie and the driver was doing a double delivery, so he gave me someone's Moe's catering order for 12 people and must've given them my sushi. I have contactless delivery set up so I called the driver, he didn't answer, and then I called DoorDash and they said to keep the Moe's 12-person taco kit and they'd send someone else over with my actual order. It was actually pretty great lol, but I can understand how it would become annoying especially in the middle of the night!
One time we got a delivery of shawarma to our door. We went to our direct neighbors and asked if they ordered, no one claimed it. We called the delivery app company and they told us to just keep it and eat it or throw it out, so we did eat it.
THREE HOURS LATER this douchey neighbor comes to the door and asks if we happened to get shawarma because they never got theirs. We were like “yeah dude we called Uber they told us to keep it so we ate it, that was like three hours ago.” He was pissed at us, but I still had the info from my call and gave it to him because Uber was originally refusing to help him. It was fine and I was like…. How did you not notice for three hours? The food would have been cold by now bud. While I didn’t have a problem with the neighbor after that, many other people did and he never kept up the house.
Last year the bank took possession of the house 😮
@@ellisejo Nooooo! That's awful, why would they be mad at YOU for something Uber did? I saw my DoorDash driver doing the first delivery as it was on the way to my house - I'm visually impaired and can't drive, and I couldn't see a number or anything to contact the person whose order it was on the receipt, so I just kept it. I'm hoping they got their Moe's eventually, but we ended up having really great tacos two nights in a row.
Jenn, I totally agree with you about writing scenes for future rides. I've been saying to my husband the door scene needed to be a ride since Monsters Inc came out.

On the topic of “write off’s” for bad HHN ideas, I think you’d be shocked at how much is just “written off” in any massive corporation. Not necessarily the same, but I work in the debt industry and the amount of debt that companies write off their books and sell to debt-buying companies would astound most people. It’s not like the debt is ever forgiven for the customer, but there is a whole process of lenders being able to “write off” bad debt, especially when it’s sold to collections. It’s a whole level of money that feels almost imaginary to the average person

As a 35 year old, I would say a lot of the high school slang isn’t necessarily acceptable now. People used to say “that’s g**” and “no ho**” and use the “R” word all the time and I didn’t love it. At the same time, I have talked to many people from high school about the topic as an interest and asked them “when you said that’s xxx did you ever even associate that with a person?” The answer is always a resounding “NO.” It’s like my age range did not associate the offensive adjectives with any actual people and would never say those words to people who could be associated with those words by traditional meaning.
I think that’s a really interesting distinction that isn’t discussed a lot. It’s somewhat like being able to separate a problematic artist from their works. The slang term didn’t refer to any actual person, so the intent was not necessarily to harm anyone in our mind, but the use of those words based on true definition was still very offensive, realistically. Someone in social psychology and languages should jump this topic!
