@@jamielees4192 no one else is going to cover this song on piano, and never as good as you did. And even if there was another great piano cover, it still wouldn't be the same charm as yours. 😭😭😭 Even just with the full ending of the song would be awesome. I could see myself waking up to this piano version as an alarm. It's wonderful. Pleeeeaaaase 😭 I listened to some of your other stuff, GG! You're really good. Never stop creating
Isn’t it pretty much a very fitting song to have played at a funeral? I know we all interpret songs, lyrics, and their meanings differently, and so I freely admit that this may just be my interpretation. Everything about this song to me signifies that death can be looked at as a beautiful thing. We go through life in our own ways on our own paths. We are inhibited and restricted by so many things. And so many of us, in an effort just to make it through, become completely disconnected. We build prisons for ourselves out of emotion, ambition, greed and callousness, fear, hate, misunderstanding. But whether you are someone sifting through trash just to eat or you’re a billionaire on his super yacht, whether you’re a lying scumbag of a politician or the soldier sent to war, whether you’re a greedy religious charlatans or a lifelong devotee to peace, hell whether you’re a cat or a dog or a bird - we all meet death. It is something that connects every being. Towards this part of the song, I cannot help but feel it is an admission of how beautiful it can be to free ourselves from the chains of limitation and disconnect from each other. Our corporal bodies return to their elemental states to be used elsewhere and for something new. Our consciousness is thrust into the cosmos and we are truly free. This song is course and heavy, but it is at the same time beautiful.
@@alexbaum2204 definitely the most striking part to me “existence patterns ripped of symmetry as will and fate divide.” We are all just floating in chaos and unable to recognize it, but once you do you can become more kind, more understanding, more empathetic. I feel like it’s more of An acceptance that we are not in control and life is just a ride.
@@jamielees4192 I see you tapping your foot the whole time and it's true, they don't make those faces to look metal, they make those faces because they are deep in thought and trying to keep count haha

@@jamielees4192 I just wanted to message and say I still regularly come back to this, 5 months after finding it haha. What a fantastic thing you made here.
This is absolutely spectacular. The polyrhythm must be so difficult. Every time this part comes on I feel like I float out of my chair, hearing you put it on piano lifts me higher
Because you start to realize that it’s all just feel that breaks the boundaries of 4/4. Once you break through that and just feel the timing, it will be super complex on paper but will just flow from within you (don’t know why that had to be so dramatic lol)
@@jamielees4192 right on keep doing your thin ! This was awesome I'd like to see more meshuggah covers perhaps Animals as leaders if your willing to take on the challange! Do you also have originals ?
Not really using a metronome, the tapping is because the groove dances around the four on the floor beat, without hearing that it sounds weird, so I’m smashing my foot as lid as possible so you can hear the groove lol
Thank you for not cheapening this, or making it more musical esq or anything. Just such an amazing way to highlight how amazing this song is
Thanks mate!
Surprisingly emotional. Love hearing it recontextualised with the piano, beautiful cover!

Excellent cover. I do think that this passage is just so melodic as it uses the Dorian mode.
