Gifts are fine as long as they are reported. Thomas and Alito didn’t report gifts from billionaires that combined were worth millions of dollars. Scalia died of a heart attack on a luxury hunting trip paid for by very rich “friends.” But he had disclosed it as he was required to do. Thomas and Alito tried to hide it.

The rest of the justices are allowing Alito and especially Thomas to sit in the cases and hearings....that's even more worrisome.

As a proud U.S retired military veteran serving 26 years. I find any act of an upside down flag, highly repugnant, ungrateful and unpatriotic towards our great country. Justice Alito & Justice Thomas should both step down for lacking sufficient integrity and honor as a U.S Supreme Court Justice.

How did Justice Alito get away with reversing an American law Roe v Wade using a law from a judge from another country, England, 200 years before we were country. Yeah he used a law from the 1600s from an English judge to base his ruling and wrote that in his ruling that alone should have had him thrown out of OUR supreme Court we are not England. We are not under English law
Well for one, Roe was never a law.
And while we aren't "under English law" it's still a common law system, so precedent needs to be considered.
And please don't say "well Roe was precedent so shouldn't be overturned" because by that logic, the Dred Scott decision would still be "law" etc. Courts overturn previous rulings sometimes
The only way Roe can properly become "law" is gonna be through constitutional amendment. Good luck with that, 😂

Sara, I am a wife of a federal judge. We have one neighbor with 4 Trump signs in his yard. To me, these signs say "Raping women is okay." It galls me we cannot respond bc federal judges are to be impartial. In other words, we follow the rules. My husband also has to spend hours filling out complicated financial disclosure that SC justices do not have to comply with.
Am I triggered by this hypocrisy...yep.

Once our kids graduate, then he will take those cases again. Oh! One of the reasons he fills out those financial disclosure forms is bc he ALSO recuses if we or any member of our family have investments in farm ground or corporations. So yeah, he recuses to avoid even a whiff of impropriety.

I used to have trust and faith in the Supreme Court that they would remain unbiased. I can no longer trust these Judges to make unbiased decisions for the people of this country.
