Read tons of comments and not a single person here seems like they’ve painted professionally. I watched your video for 5 seconds and can already tell you a HUGE no no that you’ve done before painting. NEVER use cloth that is dingy and falling apart to prep your painting surface. You risk whatever dirt/debris is caught in the strings being left behind on your prepped surface. You also risk leaving behind stray strings/threads that you wouldn’t notice without a thorough inspection. You can see thread caught under the plastidip in the before and after transition photos/videos. Outside of that, your technique is great.
@@sxmori that would probably work but if you’re cheap you can just use like a polyester type cloth. I think this would easily peel off dont you think? Like peeling around what you did. Might do it to my Toyota Celsior.
How long will this last before having to reapply? And if it starts to peel, I assume you'd need to fully remove the first attempt before you're able to reapply in the future?
I did this on my Santa Fe and it lasted no peels winter/summer seasons for 3 years. I’ve since sold the car and the new owners loved the look and said they were going to keep it like that, I just got a civic and will be doing it now on it
How does it hold up with jet washing car. Great video !
It does great! I have had it on my truck over a year and it hasn’t come off yet! I get my truck washed at least once a week
great job 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Can you plasti dip the emblem on the steering wheel airbag cover without harming the cover finish? 2020 Honda Fit
Sure go for it!
Do the dash board while you at it 😆🤣
Great video 😊
You should use some lubricant around the lettering
Is plasti dip durable? If it comes off the body of the car so easily, will it come off the emblems/logos just as easily?
Like will it be durable in car washes? Or is this something that has to be done periodically?
It’s not a permanent solution but I’ve had mine on my truck for at least 6 months now and go through the car wash at least twice a week and it looks the same as it did! Just make sure to Do 4-5 coats!
Some people plastidip their entire car and say it lasts 2-3 years
Great video!
Quick question, why 30 minutes between spray coating?
Drying times
@@danielforsyth1109 obviously, but why wait instead of just put the full coat on then let it dry 🤷🏾♂️
30 mins too long. 15 mins is perfectly fine
@@JahGotWings Long time since your message but you want to apply small coats because if you over spray, you will begin to see the plastidip liquid dripping. the finish will not look as smooth and finish product wont look as "professional".
So the plastidip will just pull of without coming off the letters?
Great👍🏻. How much this plastidip long last on the emblem with the color without fade off?? I want to try it.
If you ceramic coat the surface it can last for years
No clear coat? So flat black? Ill just tape it all off so it looks better with clear coat but nice video
Nice!! How does the plasti dip not come off of the letters?
I guess because the letters aren't flush to the car
Magic
nice job
Other people say to add/mix products do/should I need to? I know you only used the spray but does it help or hurt paint less when mixing somthing with it?
The thing about this is that everyone is doing this so it’s not novel- it’s just sheep following sheep for the sake of it. I added MORE chrome to my ride
Nice man! That sounds Bahhhhh’d!
Newby question. How does the Plastidip know not to peel off the emblem?
Who has done this.
How does it hold up too washing the car. Like drive in car washes. Or jet washers but obviously not going too close too coated area with pressure washer. Thanks
Nice video! thought about doing this and it honestly doesn't look bad at all. Looks like a nice alternative to save money if that is your goal. But I think I will spend the $$ and get the OEM gloss black emblems for my 2021 accord sport 2.0
Sounds like a plan man! If you liked the content hit that thumbs up and subscribe! Thanks for watching Junior!
How do those work? Do you install them yourself ?
Doesn't alcohol ruin the paint of the car?
Nice video!
It didn't seem too, it's just cleaning it. It's not paint thinner or anything that strong.

I used it on my beloved commodore monitor and destroyed its color :'(
