Just recently got into 1/24 ... Love it .. got the grey c10... Was stock for a week .. now it's got almost all the goodies you could want .. just waiting for my furitek/lizard brushless upgrade.

My 9g hot racing brass diff covers installed perfectly on those aluminum axel housings.
I'll be trying the "auto pilot" challenge as soon as my brushless gets here ... Can't wait!
The overdrive is mostly all positives for the scx24..
1) faster moving front wheels will make for a tighter turning radius. Cause the front is moving faster than the rear.
2) in climbing steep obstacles, it will help keep your front tires planted as the front is spinning faster than the rear, increasing the pulling force from your truck while also reducing the truck from rolling over backwards. Which helps with climbs. More pulling force is better than pushing force or equal when it comes to climbing.
3) in general it mostly beneficial for slow crawling.
The downside is that it can be hard on drive trains, as your drivetrain is constantly binding from the overdrive, causing more stress on your motor and axels mostly from the front tires spinning faster. Definitely going to wear out drive cups faster. However probably not a big deal considering the little amount of overdrive (I wanna say its like 9 or 11% with the treals), especially with a slow crawler.
I would not recommend a overdrive for setups with high Kv brushless motors cause of wear will be exponentially higher to your dogbones, drive cups and overall drivetrain.
One more tip.. run longer steering servo horns, especially if you have aftermarket servos. You will get alot more travel out of your servo.. the little tip is "see that little notch on the top of your vertical steering link, thats there so the other link (that connects horn to horizontal link) can run parallel with the horizontal link and the notch is slotted for the joint head so it won't bind.
I mean horizontal steering link is notched

Should put an over drive gear set in both axles. Basically gearing it down a bit, and takes a lot of stress off the motor, esc, and drive train.

Powerful little motor! The main purpose of the front axle overdrive is to help turn with locked axles, although I've heard the pull down theory before too.
Also to help pull your crawler over rocks instead of them flipping
Hey man! Love your vids, I always get so excited when I see you’ve uploaded! Love your 24s, I lost the plastic hex on mine fell into a mud puddle couldn’t find it. Good excuse to add brass though! Also, for that like all aluminum jeep you should get a aluminum rock racer chassis, I believe Injora makes one, there like 30 bucks on Amazon

I just found your videos and I am waiting for my axial 24. I am going to build a course in my " man-cave" that will be pretty cool. I love my RC4WC trail finder 2, but I had to get some compatible competition. I will keep you posted on the progress of the man-cave project.

I forget what the Jeep looks like with a white roof. I used spray bed liner on my jeep roof and it looks great and has held up to all kinds of abuse. It gave it a nice texture to it.

Great video man. I still love my wrangler and mud slingers. I bought those cheap axels off eBay. Two set, both the fronts had a crappy casting and were broken where the cover met the axel. The gear grease would have gotten wet and stuff inside. Got my money back at least. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

What radio are you using for the cruise control? The Traxxas trx-4's have that feature as well. Clean looking rigs

O'Reilly's has these wheel weights for cars. And they are on all my mini crawlers. They come in little rectangles and weight .25oz there is I think 8oz Total. There in strips with adhesive on the back. I think I have 6 of them on my SCX 24 Jeep. And they are lead free which is nice.

Thanks for showing us the mods on your rigs... I actually want the overdrive gears for both the front and rear of mine, just to increase wheelspeed a bit, the nano beast from mofo is a torque monster but slower than frozen snot running down a kids face...
Sometimes I pay the price for modding my rigs... I have a Hotwheels 1/28 Monster Jam Avenger diecast body on mine, and to fit it, I needed to swap out the front end of a C10 to the rear of my Deadbolt. I have to buy 2 sets of everything to do any major chassis work, I need the front driveshafts from both the DB and C10. I also need the front high clearance lower links only for the front of both, but have to buy 2 complete high clearance link sets. At least I still have a complete C10 to use those excess parts on... lol
Yeah I’ve been looking at the nano beast motor and want to pick one up in the future, if you used overdrive in the front and rear axle then you technically would get more wheel speed but I don’t think you would notice it, when I tested the overdrive to see how much faster it was I used tape on the wheels and it takes almost 5 full revolutions of the wheels to see the difference in speed, it’s seems to be overdriven by a very small margins so before you buy them keep that in mind 😄👍🏻 as far as buying double the parts for your rigs, that sucks lol but it is good that you can use them on your other c10 🤘🏼

Do them brass frame weights actually help with anything or just put more weight up top ??
They put weight in about the center of the vehicle, I don’t think they make it much too heavier it just adds total weight to the truck for extra traction when crawling/climbing

Nice video and upgrades. Can you tell me what wheels you have on the C10? I think that was an excellent choice, the look really fits. Also do you have an upgrade video similar to this for your C10?
The wheels on the C10 are treal type B beadlock wheels in gun metal grey, the tires are RC4WD rock creepers and I don’t have 1 whole video on the c10 just a bunch of updates about it sprinkled in throughout a lot of other videos here and there.

I'm in the same boat so picked up a larger, but still brushed, motor from injora for around $10. Really happy with the improvement! I did modify the battery tray to fit it.

Great builds...I did same thing did a SCX24 with all Hot Racing, treal, MT and every single piece is aluminum now, its cool but probably could have bought a SCX10 with the money I have into it....but whatever I had fun...
Nice! Yeah once you start dumping upgrades into these things it becomes very costly very quick lol most of my scx24’s have more money in them in total than most of my other trucks haha

Curious how much u have in your jeep. My build geting out of hand. On cost for a micro.... scx24 monster truck conversion im in 500. In the build including the c10 got the 20 amp esc 11000kv motor servo. Alloy transmission all metal gears. Alloy links ... Motor plate. Tranny mount monster truck chassy
Tires and wheels. Only thing left is the alloy axels fun build. Just more then i thought💯💯💯💯 great video
