This is why it will always be a problem. And there will never be a solution. My kids legally started working at 14 in the US but not in dangerous jobs.
Just like anywhere , and it is not just these Chinese factories breaking labor laws and being corrupt . Don’t you know ? Are you not aware ? It is all about the MONEY - NOT if it is illegal / against labor law 😒
If you accept local laws (age, hours, environment, safety) to be broken elsewhere by having products made elsewhere your government facilitates just that yet not in your own country. This exactly on how manufacture is dissapearing in the USA and EU.
The only thing worse is what has happened to a generation of adults now who will never know how much better the world was without smartphones.its not good.
The governments of these factories take no responsibility to enforce the laws. They allow the factories to self govern. They aren’t randomly inspected. And if they are inspected they are notified in advance so they can hide any violations. I blame the governments for allowing this to occur and quite frankly they know it’s happening but don’t care enough to disrupt the flow of money into their countries.
Child labor is a lot more complex. In Africa it's a survival issue. If you you lock the kids out of the mines, they will simply join criminal gangs or warlords as foot soldiers.
With the cost of living, anywhere in the world, everyone in the family has to work! These are the realities of life, being born in the 21st Century! Young people have to work, because status quo governments, can't afford paying everybody in their country, especially, the poor... Humanity are hooked on these dumb iPhones!
I don't see what people get so carried away with this stupid technology. Little. kids look at my shape of powerful computer in my pocket. A bunch of toys
Children are literally exploited, people are buried alive for amounts of money that couldn’t even pay for a meal a day where I live, and people are dying from cancer due to pollution. But sure, let’s focus on how illegal it is to film these atrocities from the violator’s perspective... It’s quite sad when that’s what someone chooses to focus on when they see this. To give you an actual answer, legalities vary across the world when it comes to journalism. Instead, you should ask why reporting the truth should be illegal in the first place. Should they schedule an appointment and film with consent, giving the factory enough time to hide what the rest of the world considers human rights violations-just so certain companies in some countries look better to the rest of the world? Journalism should be about reporting the truth. Imagine that the woman in the hospital is your mother, your aunt, or your daughter-dying from cancer because they were forced to drink polluted water for years. Now tell me you wouldn’t want everyone to know who is indirectly responsible because they are contributing to this kind of exploitation. I own a Samsung phone, an LG TV, and plenty of other electronics. I never even considered that these technologies and products are made possible through the suffering of others. After watching this, I feel ashamed that my purchases support these practices, while all you seem to feel is indignation that someone reported it to let others know where their money is going-or isn’t.
i hav reach to 3/4th of the video, and this is my comments, "its not the fault if the restaurant that cooks the meat and didnt know how the animal was slaughtered, or where it was farmed, its the name of the game, my question is,, shall we stop going high tech? we need to stop using smart fon to kill their bizniz, is that what this video about?😂😂😂 just asking😂😂😂

This docu is from 2014. 10 years later nothing has changed except some of the phone assembly has moved from china to vietnam.

I'm wondering why you have to pay for your high-school education?
damn. props for this documentary. this, in my humble opinion, is real journalism!

True, the same is everywhere, in the west as well, just more covered and not as harsh.
Thank you very much for your hard work. I really appreciate your work. Salute

This poor people should live in luxury. The companies have to build machines to get the stuff. The Region must be well paid.

Bravo! Brilliant research, love the substitute card coverage. Lives for profit, this is legal slavery, in disregard of us humans. Thank you.

Thank you for pointing this out. This kind of sensationalist journalism makes me sick.
