Stupid argument by so-called intellectual podcast'ers... If so-called couple wants police or state intervention when something goes wrong, then they should have the courage to make it public by registering. This law is NOT to take survey of undefined relation but challenging the couple whether they really have the conviction to announce to society. I agree with you. The same rona dhona will start when women get murdered or something happens with her. People will not care. Well, i think people shall live in relationship and adminstartion shall not care of it. Tab yahi log chilayenge ki ye kya kaise.
Couples already have choice of marriage if they want to be long time partners. Even this registration for live in would have been fine if it was NOT compulsory. Those who want that "safety" can register for live-in. but don't force it.
Also, "Couples" are not only of "bf-gf" type, there are FWBs, situationships, one off flings, etc. Which are casual in nature. Imagine explaining this to a babu sitting in registrar. Why not give couples privacy regarding their relationship.

@ble Social validity? Why is government in the business of whats socially valid. And live in couples never had legal validity to begin with. Nor do couples want legal validity. Thats why they are in live in and not married.
Just get married if you want legal validity. I still dont see point of this law.
