Your videos are great to watch! You seem to be a very experienced fly fisherman and how you know when to change up flies. I truly appreciate the care of how you treat the fish for release. They all look very healthy while swimming off.
Hi Gareth great video and was cool to meet u on the Thursday down further and recognizing the tap of the rod only it was the spin rod and not the fly rod . And you were right bloody crazy Thursday morning
Add that to my list of reasons i need to come on vacation to experience the scenery and fishing your country has to offer, truly amazing! Cheers Mate 👍🏼
You know what I like about your videos, your just you out fishing as it is not trying to commercialise it. Thats why you got 87k subscribers and trippin trout only got 26k.....
Love Twizel. A few years ago met a couple of brothers who let myself and some members of the Bendigo and District Flyfishing Club stay in their Batch on Lyford Lane. Bloody good guys and great place. Heading over the ditch again in November hitting Mossburn area again.
Loving the look of the new camera. Man those trout are just incredible. Are you sight fishing to them or just know where they hold? This section was closed when were there but there must be other spots? We couldn't spot any fish in the canals we tried only on the lake edge in the end. Looking forward to the river footage!
You love those Twizel canals don't you? But sometimes it's more fun to try somewhere different like Lake mahinerangi or try Loganburn Reservoir with a Cicada in the middle of summer.
@@TroutHuntingNZ if go to Loganburn Reservoir in summer make sure you check the wind forecast it blows like nothing else up there my favourite spot is the sheltered little bay where you cross apart of it on your way towards the dam end. Oh do you have twitter by any chance.
Those are some BIG fish, doesn't matter how many times I see them I am always impressed.
Yeah pretty cool aye. Cheers Neil
Very chillaxing content. I think even if people didn't like fishing they would enjoy your videos 🤙🏼

Cheers mate yeah loving the new camera. Yeah they are normally in a few particular spots but you do find them all over .
In a way, I'm not sure I'd ever want to experience that. It would make all other trout seem like minnows after! Jk... I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Hahah yeah it’s tuff
Good stuff as usual but the great stuff is hopefully still to come:)
Hopefully 😉
Camera quality is awesome
Cheers mate

Hi Gareth, Do you think you can go over the rig set up m8. gr8 vids.
I really should do more of that. It’s exactly the same as I use for Taupo water if your familiar with that
What rig do you use to fish these canals - 8wt and 00x tippet?
Queation: that canal seems to be quite deep. Yet you fish approx 4 feet below syrface. How do you guess the deep you atre offering your bait?
Yeeeeeeeew
Ye ye
Cheers mate
@@TroutHuntingNZ Thank you very mutch... have a nice day.... see you….
What was up with the fish with the tag the first little one that was caught??
Fish and game tag fish that are trapped in parts of a close by river and release into canal. The tag is to monitor if the program is worth it
@@TroutHuntingNZ oh ok that awesome info thank you very much and by the way love the videos
What size egg do you usually throw for these? in MM
Hi bro I watch all your Video s can u suggest me any Good fly fishing shop in Auckland
Hey mate I think Rod and reel is the local fly shop for Auckland. Not sure where it is now
what were you using
What do these fish feed on to grow to this size?
Snails baitfish nymphs and the off fish pellet from a salmon farm
Just 30h away ;)
Easy

Yeah they are recaptured from a river that drys up and released in the canal.
