Waldorf Homeschool Tips: Pencil Sharpening to Strengthen Will

I hear about strengthening the will in Waldorf Education. Can you give a simple example of ways we do this with children while homeschooling?
Here is a simple example: pencil sharpening. The manual sharpener might seem inconvenient or even messy, but it has some real benefits that we should keep in mind!

Ok, years ago I bought an old-fashioned wall-mounted sharpener with the thought of getting in more work and motor skill usage. I don't feel so crazy now! 😜

My Home Ed student decided to sharpen all the pencils in the jars, probably about 50! Also liked to save the 'peel' and 'coloured magic dust' in little jars, colour coded in light warm and cold colours.
we have an old fashioned manual pencil sharpner that operates by turning the handle.
