I feel you man I got hurt at work 2/2/2022 and JUST had to get rid off the rest of my racks and supplies and it wasn't a good time. I also didn't plan on being permanently disabled for the rest of my life after the surgeries, I thought I'd be out of work 6 months and be right back.. Obviously not the case as here I am worse than ever smh. Prays to you and your's man!

Making the decision is the hardest part....I'm ready to hang it up after 14 years due to the paradigm shift of the reptile market brought on by the pandemic....but bills have to be paid and it sure beats working for someone else. Sorry to here that, you've had a great run at it. keep yourself a few offspring of mount that has become olympus. i lost both in laws to life events and before death had to relocate to live with us. Im recently retired due to cancer and ive kept myself small number across two small spaces i share with them. I'm so pleased ive got a few maybe 30 ball pythons and some corn snakes to tinker with they are a big part of my world these days. Sorry about the need for tough calls, its comedable and respectful of you to sell what has literally been your baby.
I plan on keeping some hots, including two born in facility.

I had to give up my 5 foot plus black throat when we moved to Florida to take care of my parents in their twilight years. It was a hard decision and I wish I knew where he was so I could get him back.

How much does your business profit annually? Wouldn’t it make sense to keep operating as your need for money and resources will also increase with your circumstances? Unless your business is flopping and that’s the general reason behind the family issue reason.
It isn't flopping. It is profitable. But, the largest asset ir the house. My in laws need to be close (currently a 2.5 hour drive one way). Using the house makes since.
Buying/renting another place is possible but not worth it. Would add so much more time/difficulty not having it right beside me.
I don't need the money it makes as much as i need the house it owns to help family. The money was always extra cash/play money.
Man, I hate to see you and the snakes go, but I understand the circumstances. Seems like the snake community is taking a hit. But you are doing the right thing where family is concerned. Best of luck and well wishes.

If they don't, channel will just become an inconsistent vlog about my life as a middle aged dude. So, would feature the rattlesnakes i intend to keep, travels i take, and probably a bit about boxing as i continue to compete.

just a suggestion, but have you considered creating a channel for the educational side of things? honestly, it's your knowledge and ability to teach what you know that taught me how to breed and you don't need very many snakes to do that. maybe keep one small rack and a couple near and dear projects? or hear me out......start a very small snake rescue, that's actually where I got my start years ago was rehabbing abused and neglected reptiles......its insanely rewarding to watch an animal make a comeback and as long as you stay small it's not time consuming, but you would have a constant rotation of animals to film content about. ........P.S. I'm really sad to hear Olympus is shutting down but I completely understand as I've been in similar situations myself a couple times and my best advice is this......DO NOT SELL THE NAME OR THE CHANNEL......life will change again eventually whether it be your in-laws passing or they get healthy enough to remain stable and comfortable without 24/7 care.....or an entirely new problem comes along that complicates things even more.....whatever the case is as long as you keep the name and the social media and figure out a way to keep making content even if it's only once a month or once every couple months it would be much easier to rebuild.....Anway regardless of what you guys ultimately end up doing from the bottom of my heart I thank you guys for everything you have taught me, and I wish you all the best.
