You are wrong about the delivery portion of the WashTower. It's detachable after removing few screws. I was waiting to see how the delivery guys were going to lug the 300+ washttower to my 2nd floor. They removed few screws, brought it up one at a time and re-assembled it, took less than 10min to disassemble, bring it up to 2nd floor and re-assemble. So far, I am loving this machine.
so does it come packaged already assembled or separate for easy transportation. Seems like two smaller boxes would be easier to manage from the store to the vehicle to the home. or if it is one big tall box can it be laid on its side and slid into the back of a vehicle.
I bought a Washtower a year ago and I've been extremely happy with it; I do 4-5 medium-size loads of laundry a week, and this review is accurate and comprehensive. Highly recommended.
@@emmacarr7671 there is no water leftover after drying clothes. In a normal dryer you would have a duct that goes through your wall and vent to the outside. With the heat pump you don’t need that.
We bought one just before Christmas. It is awesome. Dryer uses less than 1 KwH of electricity, no external vents, it reduces humidity in the room (as it is basically a large dehumidifier) and empties the water down a drain pipes. Dryer/dehumidfier may take a bit longer but not really an issue.
Very well done! I'm in California and bought my WKEX200HWA directly from LG it was $1,998.99 with free delivery and set up. If I lived in MA I would definitely buy from you!
Ours is about 3 months old and love it, but on some spin cycles, the tub can get slightly out of balance making a "knocking" noise for about 30 seconds before it settles down. If I place my hands on the upper corners and apply a slight pressure it stops. I have checked it and it's LEVEL. Not sure what I can do to fix that. And even using HE Tide pods we get a SUD warning often.
I love the idea of this! Wondering if I can do two towers side by side so I can run two loads at once 🤔 Might have to chat with an electrician and plumber to explore my options.
I have the low end LG Wash Toer that I purchased on sale a year ago. So far it has been an excellent washer. I can't say the same thing about my LG microwave that has stopped working twice in under a year. Best Buy's Total Tech service is horrendous.
This was a really great review! Looking to replace a stacked Samsung washer/dryer combo after our washer was fried in a power surge. Super helpful and very informative!
Mine has been broken now 3 times, and this last time looks like it will need a replacement just after 2 years of use. Don't know if mine was defective but it's a big pain as I cannot use the whole unit now. So I'm left without washer neither dryer :(
I bought mine used and it has a dryer water inlet but no drain, even behind the black plastic cover. What gives?? It's got the steam option but I'm afraid to use it
I I just ordered the middle unit with steam, the WKEX200HWA, from a local appliance store, since my old washer has broken. It will be delivered in a few days. They only charged me $1499!! $1000 off. Hoping I will be really happy with my purchase.
Great review! We are very happy w/ out LG appliances, so far perfectly reliable (knock wood) for our refrigerator, and giant stackable washer/dryer. Would have bought this instead of full-sized stackables if they had it in 2016 for sure. Reaching that top control dial is a pain...first world problems.
GREAT question...We tested the WashTower and it took almost 4 hours to completely dry. Then you have to realize the sensors sense completely dry. Comforters are never completely dry but mostly dry. If you put it on a timed cycle, it will be slightly longer than the others.
@@YaleAppliance1 Thanks. Our new house comes with both connections. It would be easier if only one of the other!. Yes I like the heat pumps but we do about 2-3 loads a week so the ROI is less compelling. Plus, the availability of qualified service in our area is a concern.
What’s the best way to find a good and reliable appliance technician? Do you have any recommendations for one who work in Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill area of North Carolina?
How many towels can you put in this washer? The one I have can't handle more than 2 bath towels, otherwise it'll spin endlessly all day and never finish the cycle.
One of my main concerns is how far the unit projects from the wall. Based on what I can tell it has to be quite away from rear wall, if using rear vent. There is a side vent option that reduces that but then you have to deal with concealing that unsightly ductwork. All the pictures show such a sleek install but I don't think that is reality
Have this unit and its now OVERDRYING clothes and burning clothes in the dryer. It runs MULTIPLE dry cycles even after the clothes are dry. It completes a cycle and just restarts it. Very odd behavior. One load it fried the clothes in the dryer for over 3 hours. No fix in sight. Giant paper weight now.
Too bad you're that ignorant about listening to your friends and not doing research. I have mostly LG and Samsung appliances/electronics because I researched them and found out that they have the lowest repair to service call ratio in the industry for the items that I bought. I guess in this case ignorance isn't bliss because you're depriving yourself of the best options.

Yes, it does easily come apart. Don’t know why folks don’t know this, it’s in the User Manual and there is a RUclips video.
Thanks for the info i have the same issue you made my day.
I knew it had to be removable! Thanks for the info.

thanks, this was one of the things preventing me to go ahead and buy a 2nd hand. The other being how does that ventless dryer actually performs? 🤔
I love my wash tower. By far the best and most user home appliance going strong after a year of use with no signs of decline

Thanks for sharing!
I've never used a heat pump before, how long does it take to dry a full load of laundry?
Where does the water go after your dry the clothes? As it’s not vented and doesn’t look like it has a drawer to empty the water 🤔

"TOWER"
Just found this one after watching the 2022 version. Thanks again for the useful, no-nonsense review. I'm leaning more and more toward the WashTower.
Glad it was helpful!

Excellent review. He really knows his business
Will you be making a review or first impressions video of the WKEX300HBA? Thanks for the excellent video presentation and production.
Within the month
I believe the studio version has the easy dispense detergent feature
Insanely helpful! Thanks for the breakdown.
What about the VA?

Please video how to dry the clothes
How long will it take to dry a king size comforter in the dryer?

I and my guests aren't thrilled about having to use a phone app. Does it allow all functions without a phone and app?
yes
you dont need to use the phone app at all
What is your advice on gas vs electric? Clearly the heat pump is best but the extra cost doesn't make sense for us.
Typically people will have one or the other.....Funny, I don't have an opinion. Nobody has ever asked. One thing about heat pumps: There is a ROI

I would ask your neighbors on NextDoor
Best to go vented if you have a vent? Or is heat pump ventless better?
Heat pump will be more efficient...just not sure if the heat pump works on the larger size
@@YaleAppliance1 I just ordered this model. It doesn't need to be hook up to a vent?
B
Would like to see a comparison of this against the Samsung Laundry Hub.
We just stopped selling Samsung......so I have to recuse myself
@@YaleAppliance1 Ah, ok. Thanks for confirming that. May I ask why you made that decision? I ask as I was about to buy the Samsung Laundry Hub :/
They just went away during Covid to be honest. We replaced them with LG. It wasn't a product thing...more distribution
How many towels can you put in this washer? The one I have can't handle more than 2 bath towels, otherwise it'll spin endlessly all day and never finish the cycle.
Its a 4.5 cubic foot front load, so it should fit plenty of towels.

most likely a faulty moisture sensor
I truly appreciate these videos. For some reason , in this one, the diction was a tad lazy, a bit mush mouthed, maybe rushing words.
i hate a machine that cannot soak.
doesnt need to soak this machine has cleaned better than any other top loader ive used

@doloresm7396 lint filters arent a fire hazard unless your braindead idiot that doesnt clean it
No but thanks. LG has not served me well.
