This Percona tutorial will tell you that some of the most important updates in this version of Percona Toolkit include the ability to resume the online schema change tool (in Percona Toolkit, this tool is called pt-online-schema-change) if it is interrupted, custom regular expression support, automatic detection of logs in Kubernetes (k8s), and added whois support in the galera log explainer (this log explainer in the Percona Toolkit is called pt-galera-log-explainer.)
This Percona tutorial will also tell you that Percona also introduced a new tool into their Percona Toolkit called pt-eustack-resolver.
Percona Toolkit 3.6.0 also introduced support for the tool that collects information about a MongoDB cluster (pt-mongodb-summary) for MongoDB 6 and above.
Other changes to the Percona Toolkit include improvements to the MySQL grant tool called pt-show-grants and the tool that summarizes the status and configuration of a server (pt-summary), as well as small bug fixes.
