NoSQL Explanation in 145 Seconds
This NoSQL explanation video will tell you that NoSQL translates to "Not only SQL." Some say it stands for "non-SQL", but either way, NoSQL databases store data in a different way than their relational counterparts do.
This NoSQL tutorial will tell you that each document consists of two things: a field and a value.
Those familiar with relational database management systems may think of fields as columns.
Furthermore, this NoSQL explanation will tell you that non-relational databases store data in a document-oriented format that is similar to objects in the JavaScript Object Notation, or JSON.
As such, a NoSQL database is a document-oriented database, or a non-relational database.

    It's a cool feature but might not be something the vast majority of users need at this point in time. However, I imagine the users who do want this, and have use-cases for it already, are the bigger players, such as AWS, and it's obviously a good idea for MariaDB to have such powerful supporters. Also, while the demand for vector search isn't so great yet in 2024, this will probably(!!!) change in the future, and it can be advantageous to be ahead of the curve.

      Out of the choices available in the present day, InnoDB takes the cake because as MySQL advanced, the team has added features previously only available in MyISAM to the InnoDB storage engine. Much depends on the parameters that may or may not be optimized, too.

    • @DatabaseDive
      @DatabaseDive 6 месяцев назад

      These parameters need to be optimized within MySQL or any of its flavors - Percona Server or MariaDB Server. Tune these parameters once you open my.cnf (Linux) or my.ini (Windows): the exact location of the file may vary, but it's generally found in /var/lib/mysql/my.cnf.

See "systemctl status mysql.service" and "journalctl -xeu mysql.service" for details. I have no clue what to do, did anyone come across this? Thanks for help
