    amazing story, it certainly can stem from childhood and lead into adult life. Its good to recognise and choose to do something about it because it can become so exhausting. Never feel guilty or over value others thoughts and opinions because the most important opinions of you are your own, self talk with repetition really does help "i am enough" "i feel great about my boundaries" excellent thank you.💯💯👏🏼👏🏼

    The boundaries I set today are things others might not find socially acceptable, but knowing exactly what I am, what I was, and what I am becoming, I have decided to embrace myself and my Self and to live exactly how I choose. I am 70 years of age I have spent my whole life saying yes to things I did not really want to do. If I was asked to work overtime in my 20s 30s and 40s I would say yes because I just could not say no even though I didn't want to do it agreeing to go social occasions which I personally just cannot cope with but I would agree to go because I couldn't say no. Social occasions give me great anxiety I just feel completely overwhelmed can I end off standing in the corner alone and thinking why the hell am I doing this. It's only now when I got into my 60s that I said enough is enough I'm not doing these things that I hate any more and I finally after a lifetime I've learnt to say no . Although it is still and remains difficult to say no because I feel guilty I know it's Madness but I do. As always a interesting and informative and entertaining and thought provoking video . Always great to see you

    I wonder why I was bullied and fear was another thing in the equation, no one has ever liked me for standing my ground and never being able to stand on my own two feet hasn,t helped either, being at the mercy of someone or others has left me in that position, on a one to one I am ok but they always have others to back them up or pick on me, I am sticking up for myself alot more, I walked out on a job once when I was so bullied and from then I was no longer going to be that push over, agoinglthough it was painful, so is resentment and being got at all the time, I would rather be on my own than going through all that again. Thank you for sharing and this was so good to know and keep on with because it not just a one time fix, its a belief.

    Sadly boundaries do not work in a way couse you can tell a person no but they will still cross your boundries and act like nothing happened. I was reminded of this fact today. There's nothing you can do but leave. Nothing will change them and you have to take it from them in every case couse they are not gonna give that space for you where you'd want to be so you are forced to leave

    • @Verenaaschulz
      @Verenaaschulz  20 дней назад +1

      @@sinenkaari5477 If they behave like this then it’s the right decision to leave them I think. Some people will stop when you show your boundaries but unfortunately not everyone. It’s important to stay strong and remind yourself that you are not wrong.

      @@Verenaaschulz I wrote longer comment also yesterday but youtube swallowed it so i'm gonna rewrite it now. The situation was yesterday that i had invited this guitarist to play at a jam session in a bar and other players came to play to the stage over us with amps turned up so loud i could not clearly hear my drums or the guitarist i invited. I said to them clearly that i'm gonna play only with the guy i had invited there but after we started they just came on the stage. The point i'm trying to make is that couse you can't make people respect you if they don't care the only thing you can do is to leave the place or stay there and take it and you end up loosing both ways and the one's who don't care end up winning. So in my personal experiences boundaries do not really exist. I figured out why they were so careless to just "bomb" the stage and play over us, badly, it was couse the players get free beer tickets after each time they play. I see no way to "fight" in these type of situations. Only thing you could do is punch those people in the face but that would be just getting yourself in trouble so you can really only leave. No way to really "stand up for yourself" like people many times say you should do. But yeah anyway i think you understand what i mean. I watched this video couple days earlier and had the feeling of wanting to give you a hug couse i've been through same kind of stuff you were talking about
