William is a family-person , throughout some clips i can say that he would do anything for bentley and sam. He wouldnt cry eventho he knew that he would be punished , heck he even smiled . As if he was trying to say that he was okay to take the punishment for them , and they dont have to worry about him while most kids would be afraid seeing a cane .

William didn't hesitate at all and stood up right away. It shows that he is a filial son and a really caring brother. The way he tried to hold back his tears and smiled at his dad and brother to reassure them that he was ok even though he wasn't.
