- The method of sections is a very useful way of solving statics problems. Here's a very simple example using a four bar truss. In another video, I solved the same problem using the method of joints.
thanks mate you have no idea how good the timing in releasing these two videos has been
I wish someone would make a video of a really complex truss with zero force members. Good video.
end semester exams are here .. and im glad these videos exist .. no need to read crandall !! yaay .. thanks alot sir .. :D
Thanks alot....its very helpful for me.....coz now a days i am studying Structure Analysis....and its very helpful in Truses....:)
F4Y is the force at joint 4 in the direction Y.
he didn't find f4y, what is the value for f4y and how do you find it?
lol I know that... I meant what is the numerical value.
Great job!
Good stuff there :) The only issue, that being myself, is I'm not the type to write out neat equations, I tend to look at moments about points individually instead of combining them into one big equation... its just what works for me.
Are you a university professor?
I've been watching your videos the past couple of days studying for the FE and the way you teach is superb!
never mind... its not needed. :-) nice video.
why is it 30degrees in the last triangle
what is F4Y????
why is f4y zero?
the moment about f4y is zero because it's perpendicular to the upper point. Think of it like torque, if you push on the point you're trying to spin about, nothing happens. Hope this helped!
+lyndongaming it's not....
