Im in Phoenix as well.....we are pretty fortunate with our sourcing id say. Cool video man....I personally stock up on winter stuff towards the end of spring through the summer, and summer stuff during the fall/winter. Also vintage anchor blue hoodies do well in my store
Nice tip. I usually pass on the hoodies, I should take a second look. I have mixed feelings about our sourcing opportunities. Nationwide we have some of the worst prices as far as retail thrifts, especially Goodwills. I agree we have better stuff then many rural areas but I have some friends all around the country and we are getting fleeced at these retail thrifts compared to them. Savers are even worse than GW.
@L.RoweFischer OH yeah that is true! There is alot of quality stuff with plenty to go around, but prices are getting wack as hell! Especially these last 10-16 months it's been wild. Plain levi modern jeans for 29.99 on my side of town 😆
@@L.RoweFischer I feel that about savers, I'm on the east coast, but they like to price things up. $10-15 for shorts, like bruh, what? Like you basically have to use coupons to get a normal price on something there, which mean I have to keep an eye out on free junk to find and donate to them
I found a Mosquitohead James Dean and a Fantasia Mickey Mouse Vintage the good one at a Goodwill here locally for 2.99 each sold the Mosquitohead for almost 300.00 and the Disney for 150.00. Found a Mac Miller and sold it for 75.00. Found a Masters Tech NWT for 7.00 and just sold it for 75.00!! Love this shit!!
Hi friend! I am in Dallas Texas and most of our Goodwill prices for jeans are 9.99 unless they think it is worth money then they charge $15. Shirts from $6.99-9.99. T-Shirts 2.99. Salvation Army around the same prices, sometimes higher. In Dallas the best thrift stores with better prices are at Texas Thrift, Thrift Giant , Thrift Town and our new one call Red White and blue thrift. They always have 2 or 3 colors 1/2 off some time 75% off. Prices are half of what goodwill and salvation charges. So I shop there sometimes, but honestly I buy the best pieces and find the best pieces at “the bins”. Competition can be awful, but some days I find the best items and for $1.69 a pound for clothing, 3.99 adult shoes, 2.99 children shoes, and .99 lbs on hard good it is a steal!!! Please keep up the videos! I really am learning so much from you! Thanks 🎉
Thanks so much for the info. Sounds like you have it slightly better than us in Phoenix, but still pretty pricey at the retail thrifts it sounds like. Bins is a rough day but I hear can be well worth it.
I kind of got that idea looking at comps, the Arnold Palmer thing seemed pretty consistent. The Shetland for sure too. Thanks for sharing that I will put that under my hat.
Mom and pop shops definitely get my support. There are a few smaller ones in Phoenix, not many, but I wish I could spend all my money there exclusively, sadly they don't have the inventory of Goodwill. Honestly I don't like supporting GW but I won't hate on them, they are just the biggest fish in the pond and they know it, so they push the prices up.
@L.RoweFischer Agree. Maybe you can find some wholesale connections to get what you need at a reasonable price. Good luck & thanks for sharing your knowledge & experience. I'm learning men's clothing & you are a big help. Thank you 💫
I feel like some thrift stores (especially the big chain ones) are starting to forget who their customer base is and the greed is going to kill their business, as it should tbh. They get their stuff for free, they can set prices to whatever they want, but thrift stores should NOT feel like boutiques with their prices and the things they mark up are ridiculous and often times seem really random. Its super annoying! Really appreciate your videos. I'm new to reselling and am constantly trying to learn new things.
I agree! I have stopped spending as much as they continue to go completely delulu with their nonsense pricing. They will come back around when the CEO feels it.
I'm in the south chandler area and the goodwill stores here also price their pants and shoes insanely high and it seems the person at the back in charge of pricing the items need a long vacation they are out of their minds lol. Also f## the haters keep up the great work loyal subb here!!!
I went to the Goodwill on Dobson and Guadalupe or maybe it was Baseline, my friend was the manager there for a short while, and their prices were just as bad as mine here in Phoenix. Not sure what they are doing at AZ Goodwill corporate. I rarely leave metro Phoenix for sourcing but when I do it's usually the same old sh*t overpriced to the point of comedy. You are right about the haters I got a message for them, haha.
My last thrift scores were a 1980s puffy shoulder ladies wool swing coat, a pair of bulwark f.r. jeans, pair of f.r. insulated bibs and a Johnny Carson suit. My best scores in months.
I live in the northeast. The prices in-store are 1/3-1/2 of what you see and they don't seem to have a good handle on heritage and trending brands. Granted, they get so much good stuff donated - I never realized how lucky I am to live in NYS from a thrifting standpoint. If they have a 25% off senior day, you could drag a 55+ buddy along for the fun. 😃 I wonder if it might be beneficial for you to do cheap road trips for big hauls to areas with a lot of outlet malls and retail fashion hubs. BTW, I've come to loathe effing Croft & Barrow. It's Kohl's trash generic brand. Thanks for the ride along. 🙂
I watch several other RUclips resellers as you may imagine, and I see the prices in the pacific NW and Midwest, even Vegas, Colorado, Utah.. The only place I have seen thrift prices as high as mine are in LA, San Diego and a few other California spots. I have often thought of thrift road trips and using them for content and shopping. I may actually do that, these prices are killing me. Croft and Barrow oh yeah where is the puke bucket? Thanks for stopping by and tolerating my nonsense!
I probably never sold it before. Usually if I look something up once and the data tells me its mid or mid low STR I pass for a long time until I hear differently. Maybe now it's time to try it again.
I went to Thrift Giant in Dallas Friday and those sorry bastards had 45.45 on a pair of Ariat M8s with a 40 inch waist USED…right behind it there were M2s with the classic wallet wear ass hole the size of a quarter and they wanted 16.99 for those…that let me know how the entire store was gonna be. I knew when that location had QR codes I was screwed.
oh jeez, not the QR codes.. gross. I have much better luck at the smaller shops that don't individually price items. You know those great ones with like 3bucks all shirts, 5 bucks all pants etc.. those are the gold mines. Sounds like some Dallas places may suck as bad as Phoenix!
Dayum! Thanks man I had no clue. I know you're busy so thanks for stopping by and letting me know. Everyone go subscribe to this guy's channel if you want to learn about reselling men's clothing!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Haha. I come across them sometimes in the wild, they see me coming. I am friends with the thrift store workers so they usually have my back if anything pops off.
They may have come down recently. I used to watch a reseller in San Diego and the prices were terrible a few years ago. Maybe I should take a trip to San Diego or something and see if I can score any good deals.
Thank you, I agree! Honestly, if the Phoenix Goodwills were all I had access to I could not do this for a living, full stop. Rent and mortgages are pretty expensive here too, as well as gas. Cost of living is super high. Luckily I know what to not buy and what to buy, and thankfully there are a few other charity thrifts here. I need to start hitting the bins and more yard sales though, that is where the cheap stuff is.
Learned so much from your videos, speaking as an old lady reseller. Anyway, I’ve been reading your comments and haven’t found where you’ve posted your EBay store name? Would love to follow! Thanks for the knowledge and the laughs( ❤️ the “janktown” video) 😂😂😂

I have found a few Robert Bruce sweaters that are good. You need to only pick up vintage, Arnold Palmer especially, or like Shetland wool.
I kind of got that idea looking at comps, the Arnold Palmer thing seemed pretty consistent. The Shetland for sure too. Thanks for sharing that I will put that under my hat.
Those GW prices are definitely out of control. My GW price for denim is $7 up from $5. I get my denim mainly from mom & pop shops for $3-$4.

Great video and realistic. As long as you can answer the yes maybe question quickly and keep moving it works. Tonys cousin is visiting my yard.
Say hello to Tony's cousin. Make sure your squirrel friends are hiding though!
Love watching your videos…informative and fun commentary!

@@L.RoweFischer my pleasure. Your posts are always entertaining and informative.
And, those spoiled cats: ❤️
Just curious, why did you pass on the Holderness & Bourne polos at the 14:11 mark? Those are typically great sellers

surely you have no haters lol. thanks for the tour. my goodwill jeans are $8.49. cool hawk
love the hawk. Thanks for stopping by! 8.49 jeans sound pretty nice from here!
I could RRL at 5 pm at goodwill.

haha
There’s a blank space to the left of your thrifting video where there should be a LiveCam of Gilley. Just sayin’ 😂 😉 😊
Lol, napping cat therapy.
That is the greatest idea ever.
Napping cat therapy is real.
Had to delete previous comment. I thought it said DLA. Those say DSA, which is Vietnam era. That’s a hundred dollar pair of pants.
