This is one of my favorite solos to play and I wanted to share it with you guys and pay tribute to the double O.This solo is also #17 in the Gibson.com Top 50 guitars solos of all time!!
Michael Z Martin I never liked those two very much, especially Vai. And Lynch and other such mid-to-late 80's Glam/Pop Metal players used too much legato and too much digital delay and chorus, and were lacking a raw edge, attitude, and balls. I prefer raw 70's-style Hard Rock guitarists such as Angus Young and Ted Nugent and early 80's Metal players like Glenn Tipton/KK Downing and Dave Murray/Adrian Smith. And of course, Iommi Schenker, and Rhoads are gods. After Yngwie hit the scene in the mid-80's, many Hard Rock/Metal guitar players became obsessed with speed and technique as opposed to feeling and style. That's when it all started going downhill. So I salute Grunge for going against the grain and getting Rock and Metal fans and guitarists back into simple raw passionate emotive playing as opposed to of stiff boring overly-technical shredding.
Heard lots of people playing Randy's solo, but this is the first time I've heard someone make it their own with such feel, heart, soul, and technical prowess. AWESOME!!!
It's great that he's in Judas Priest now.. but I've always thought he'd be the perfect guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. That badass style, shredding and tone is just too good and does some justification to Randy.
This is a great example of how his solo's turn into mindblowing riffs on their own. One of the only guitar players I know who sound like they play a song within a song.
mr faulkner you are a true guitarist with soul and power like no one these day you and some RARE guitar player like wylde and others are truly inspiring for ghitar player like me thanks for keeping real rock and roll alive cheers !!!!
Pretty sick Richie. It's no wonder that Judas Priest wanted you as the replacement for KK. You are right up there along with Zakk, Nuno, Gilbert, and all the greats!
@@nobleeffort2.4 Yes that's always true. Same as Adrian or Dave's replacements or Phil Rudd when he left ACDC for a while. And so on. The original guys in legendary bands always had their original signature stamp and sound that made the bands who they were. We are forever grateful for what they gave us and also happy that they weren't replaced with hacks like Gilby Clark or dudes who suck. Richie is a stellar choice. He'll never gel with the same chemistry with Glenn like KK did but I'm thankful he is the one that was given the torch to carry on
I must say, he did an awesome job at the Epitaph concert, it almost seemed like he'd always been a part of the band! A lot of energy combined with flawless playing and a great personality makes him a worthy successor to KK :)
Ya! Ritchie, I really like you guitar playing. Its a mixture of alot of great guitarists I grew up listening to and learning from. Michel Schenker, Zack Wilde, Jimmy Hendrix, and the great Randy Rhodes, and more! Thanks
I was just searching for covers of this amazing solo and was like "Wow such a good cover" then I read the comments and this guy is the new lead guitarist of Judas Priest? Dude deserves it.
I was at high voltage, and when i saw you i thought i was dreaming, seemed like my greatest guitar idol, the other greatest idol being bruce lee, was up before me. You seemed to give me what i missed out on as randy died before i was born, i know you are your own person and you played magnificently, but at least i have you to listen to, as i couldn't listen to randy in the flesh, It makes me so happy to see you were a fan of his too, thanks for the experience and keep rocking.
Ive been playing guitar for about a year now and i love it, but Ive been slipping away from practice and being lazy.. just not feelin it i guess. but you videos just inspired me again. I dont know who you are but thank you for lighting my fire!!!
I admit.. I was afraid of losing K.K. But... WOW. I love your wide open style. I love how you show respect to the many guitarists, that you and I love so much. I have enjoyed you since I first saw you live back in Bakersfield, calif. Then again In Paso Robles, Calif ( with Mastodon) Thanks for being a metalhead, and a Jed ( or your attitude as an apprentice). I appreciate what you have brought to one of OUR favorite bands. I am enjoying these videos you have shared with us. THanks again!
Man, I saw this guy on Saturday, and he was phenomenal! Not only was he playing great, but his presence was too. Very good charisma and playing. Great choice for Judas Priest!
@LordGandor3 Yup....we do. So great seeing the two of them up there rocking out, like a machine! It's all so sudden though, I just hope he's not ill. I'll probably go one last time too when they come to town... rock on bro!
Faulkner is the new lead guitarist of Judas Priest , certainly he's one of the best
He ain't the lead guitarist... both play solos, but history has proven Glenn to be the lead most of the time...
Yes , I agree
@@thanasismavromixailidis918 Not anymore.
He saved the band!
Dude the guy clearly was a legend before making it to lead guitars for JP
If you notice carefully, he’s not going with the backing track, the track is going along with him, now that’s perfection.
🎯
Ripping it up, but with heart, soul and passion - something most modern Metal shredders have absolutely no clue about.

He is a technical genius

Listen to charlie para del riego's version.
charlies version is perfect
Diego de Oro zakk wylde.... jake lee.....
Totally! Just awsum love from india🇮🇳
It's great that he's in Judas Priest now.. but I've always thought he'd be the perfect guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. That badass style, shredding and tone is just too good and does some justification to Randy.
+Sakshat Tiwari He IS Judas Priest now...Ozzy has good talent now.
exactly this...
Chris Ayres 🤣
I think it's too similar to Zakk in terms of sound
Ya but ozzy and Sharon are POS
its like he is a combination of zakk, randy, jake, and gus all in one
im flabbergasted
I wish I saw this earlier! Yeah, he really is! OK Richie, we get it, pal. Leave some pussy and talent for the rest of us, pal. What the fuck.
and kurt cobain
@@agusred11 He slightly resembles Kurt, but Kurt never had this type of talent.
He pretended to be Kurt Cobain, but the playing gave him away!
M me more baby oll mmmm no j
How could anyone give this a thumbs down? Really?!
Some people are just trolls and ignorant.
Idiotic brainless people.
they cant play...
Probably misclicked
@@smr_0172 It's the way of Communism.

This guy is one of the best guitar players today, thank you Richie!!!!!
I've been playing that solo for almost 30 years...
Just realized I should practice it more! Great job!
Bro WTF this man is literally shredding effortlessly! He looks like he’s just playin the easiest solo of his life. He’s got an awesome style of play

Even Steve Harris of Iron Maiden had Richie in mind if anything happened to any of 3 amigos.

Kick Ass Brother!!
The solo feeds from the soul.. Randy would be proud
I must say, he did an awesome job at the Epitaph concert, it almost seemed like he'd always been a part of the band! A lot of energy combined with flawless playing and a great personality makes him a worthy successor to KK :)
what luck to find you on the first search. well done
absolutely tearing it up with soul and style! so good!
great solo! is one of my favorites guitar players of all time masters covering masters!
You could probably spend an entire lifetime and not reach close enough to play this solo, let alone to such perfection.
Ya! Ritchie, I really like you guitar playing. Its a mixture of alot of great guitarists I grew up listening to and learning from. Michel Schenker, Zack Wilde, Jimmy Hendrix, and the great Randy Rhodes, and more! Thanks
I saw you live at Nancy heavy weekend, you're pure awesome man ❤❤❤
This guy is one the best of all time. He plays so cleanly and his touch and feel is insane. It’s like an improved young Zakk Wylde.
Exactly the Zakk Wylde tone!
best cover ive seen. amazing!
this solo and ride the lightning solo are my most favorite solos
I love how he barely even looks at his guitar
+cpgoimy You dont need to when you're that good ;)
When you're that good you've memorized the guitar neck. He could probably play in his sleep
