Thank you very much for this list, I know people is centric in other types of music but even tho that I'm a millennial whenever I heard this type of music I feel like I'm in a safe place like a home. ❤️
Thank you! Haha. Thought I might come up empty as I barely speak English and typing in “what’s the opera that goes ‘ahhh ahh uhhh ahhh’ wouldn’t work.” Flower Duet is what I was looking for.
Queen of the night aria is the one I was searching for, thanks! It's so hard finding songs that you don't know words too. Especially if they don't have any words, or any English words
It's natural. When you are 20-25 years old,it's not easy to like opera, especially some" dark " pieces,...you might like Carmen,or Valckiries, but as you grow older, and nowadays T.V. helps, you'll like it more and more.when I was young, we had to go to the opera house, not the easiest of things, after a WW2.....
I'm a Gen-Z, but liking classical music on a casual basis while also liking certain contemporary genres (one of my favourites being symphonic rock/metal). Opera is no doubt one of the best of classical music for vocals.
I've always listened to these songs in some particular context and because of that I've always related them to these particular contexts. Now that I listened to these songs without any context, I found out that I'm an opera fan 😃
It would be great if u could make a video of operas with translations! 😄 So ppl who don’t know the language can appreciate much better a completely new and beautiful world to themselves!
You’d be surprised to see the English translation of Largo al Factotum. He’s just singing about barber stuff of his day. (Scissors, lancets, leeches, etc) 😄
Much is explained about America, and why classical organisations are closing all over the place -- this week, Miami Opera. Americans only want their opera in cartoon-sized doses.
Good evening William, this is a great selection though 9 songs is a hard restriction. I miss Il mio tresoro from Mozart's Don Giovanni. As you love Wagner and one has to consider that an opera song is involved in the dramatic action I recommend: Einsam in trüben Tagen, sung by Elsa in Lohengrin. After the account of Frederick von Tellramund everyone expects a wicked Elsa on stage who is thought to be responsible for the disappearance of her brother. Everyone is stunned when she appears on stage: "Mein armer Bruder" is the surprising response. She then tells how she met Lohengrin "Einsam in trüben Tagen...". There are some example on You Tube, hope you agree. Wish you all the best.
I’m looking for the one song that movies, shows, and even commercials play when something goes wrong. I wish I could replicate the sounds but all I know is it’s like “la la la la. La la la la” I KNOW THAT DOESNT HELP YOU CAN SEE HOW IM HAVING TROUBLE FINDING IT
Googled "what are the words to this opera song?" for a specific song me and other people like to make up funny lyrics to. Sure enough, there it is @2:41.
I was looking for a specific one, but it wasn't here🥲 it's used in movies all the time .. I wish I payed better attention, now that I have an interest in opera
I’ve been looking for a song in my head for a while someone help me it’s like it starts with a low and quickly gets higher and then an large chorus comes in following the same notes of the trumpets or whatever and it’s in a movie but I can’t remember
Usually they were written by "librettists" who worked with the composers by making the scripts ("libretto") for the operas, while the composers made the music.
I hope you appreciate these famous songs! Just keep in mind that this just a small bit of the amazing opera world! 🎭

I deeply respect anyone who can sing the magic flute

Watch Diana Damrau. The best ever ❤️
Yeah, that's just crazy
Edda Moser, incredible singer
That music is supposed to reflect the Queen's burning rage - that singer looked much too happy !!
Opera is criminally underrated. This is peak human vocal performance, just incredible.
Enthaupnug paritura is SUPER underrated cuz it sound more like spoken than sung
Organ is the most underrated in my opinion?
👏👏
0:57 Apparently Tom and Jerry introduced me to the world of Opera.
Lmao I know the exact scene hahaha
same, and looney tunes
Yes, I was looking for exactly this part , I just remembered liking opera song from Tom and jerry cartoon when I was a Kid.
Same
I always knew Barber of Seville from a Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd cartoon lol. But stuff like this is all throughout old cartoons
How strange. I’ve never listened to opera before but I recognized almost all of these. It’s interesting how opera music is engrained in our culture.
True!
European pride.
Americans heard many of these on Gilligans Island or Bugs Bunny

Libiamo! I've known that ding for aeons but never knew the songs name. Thankyou for clearing that one up (as it were).
It's an aria, not a song.
THE LAST SONG! THANK YOU
;)
Literally the first one is what I was looking for, thanks homie
Bridal chorus by Richard Wagner is The masterpiece and my favourite one
Rossini was the most underrated of all composers , at least nowadays ! But in his times he was regarded as good as Beethoven
I don't think Rossini is underrated in classical music circles. He certainly gets played enough.
THANKS!! So Much it was killing me, I love them all My fav is the Flower one.
;)
I had the last one in the back of my mind for ages. Thank you
Bravo! And thank you.
Awesome really thank you so much 🙏🎶🎵🎵👍🔝😌♥️
Most opera I know from watching Bugs Bunny.
So true.
Thank you Looney Toons and 90's movies & commercials for your contribution to classical music

Wheres Schonberg's enthaupnug paritura? Thats like the original enthaupnug, but with more tons of scary
I assume you mean Enthauptung Partitura from Pierrot Lunaire? I wouldn't wish that on the Nazis, and PL is not opera -- it's a song cycle.
Habanera from "Carmen" is not the work of Bizet, but of Sebastian Yradier! :o)
