This video was SO helpful! Easily the best beginner Necromunda content I’ve come across. You’re info on not just the starting rosters but also modeling advice and what to look forward to with purchase upgrades was HUGELY influential and informative for my Goliath gang build. I’m very new to necromunda, and I was having a hard time because I knew my guys were going to get upgrades, and I wanted my models to be pretty close to accurate when they did. After watching your video, I added chain axes to my models with the idea that they were busted at the start and needed fixing (so they just count as cleavers or axes to start). Then, when I had a few games and upgraded them, it would still work well narratively and I didn’t have to do mid-game snipping and converting. Your video game me the direction and peace of mind to do this. Thank you!!
I'm glad you liked the video! There's a lot of fantastic guides out there, but none of them quite got across everything I was looking for when I was starting out. So I am happy they are helpful!
Really enjoyed this overview, very helpful. I'm a bit puzzled by the mention of official miniatures for the Juves though, I didn't think there were any.
I think I was referring to the Prospects (Forge-born, so the ones with the big arc welder type weapons) as Juves. They fill a similar role and have similar stats so in my head regular juves should be on a similar base size. Apologies for any confusion!
this video is amazing, only really negative part for me ( which is a super big deal) is the berserk sound part. I listen this videos in repeat while im trying to sleep so i can learn & understand but that sound woke me up twice and i stopped listening on my sleep :D but great video, watched it 3 times already and i think i have a pretty nice understanding of what i can do. Thanks so much for the video!
I'm happy you enjoyed it, and thanks for the kind words. Sorry about the sound effect! I'm pretty sensitive to stuff like that myself, so I debated adding it in at all. I attempted to make it quiet enough not to be a problem. It didn't work but I'll definitely be wary of that sort of stuff in the future!
This was REALLY useful, thanks a lot for making it. I'm just building my first Necromunda gang so the suggestions were very handy. I'd like to vote for Cawdor or Enforcers next please!
Great video my man! Really enjoyed the points you covered throughout the video and I especially like the fact you differentiate between good/bad/narrative. Thanks for your work! Already after the first showcase of your Goliath warband I've planned to do some Trash Goblins myself! I will try your variant, but I will also try Forge Born with the Vatborn "Terminal Biology" "upgrade", playing them as failed Vat experiment, who are just a step away from organ failure. Should be fun. :D Really cheap Forgeborn on the field that way.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Everyone needs some trash goblins. I like the Terminal Biology idea; maybe they came out of the vats too soon and were just given a gun and sent out to the underhive
@@digitalwastrel Yes, great idea! A friend of mine has the new plastic LotR Goblin Warrior minis and is willing to part with a few for my conversion. They look suitably like unfinished vat embryos, I think. :D
I read that forge borns are the future of goliaths and they are selected from good batch of vatborns and very promising younglings. Using terminal biology may be inappropriate for them, story-wise.
@@boraguney2334 That is well possible, but what about all the vatborns that didn't meet expectations? Those will be my Trash Goblins. They didn't meet the criteria, but will still serve just fine as some cheap fodder in a pinch. ;)
It seems fine on paper but no hit bonus, 18" range and no AP always makes it feel bad. 20 creds is just a bit too expensive for what it is, and the S5 feels like a waste most of the time (unless you fight a lot of other Goliath or Ogryn or something). They look cool but I've always been disappointed when I use them
Glad you liked it! I hadn't planned on sharing the presentation document but I could possibly do so. Maybe when I've covered more gangs I could make a download document somewhere
I don't think Juves are really meant to be smaller than a regular ganger. They're not supposed to be kids, just inexperienced in gang fighting. They're still, at least how it's written in the books, fully grown Goliath. Of course you can do whatever you want, but just wanted to put that out there. The Forgeborn are the only ones meant to be young.
Thanks for the comment! These are good points. There is some holdover in my mind from 90s Necromunda when juves were more directly presented as kids, but as you say modern Goliaths come out of the tubes fully grown and having smaller minis might not make sense. Necromunda is a system where players are encouraged to put their own spin on things, so as mentioned in the vid, best thing to do is think about it yourself/chat with your group.
Dude, I love your gang, in part they were inspiration for my own Goliath Gang, as I was looking for a scheme with pale skin an black clothes. Or something like the Harkonnen from Dune 2021. How dare you not showing detail pictures of your later reinforcements, esp. the stimmer? Put them of reddit or something, with big pictures for me to see! Pls do, would love it.
Thanks for the comment, and glad you like my stuff! Harkonnen Goliaths sound cool for sure! I think my Stimmer and the 2nd generation of my gang are all in this second gang vid I did: ruclips.net/video/iV8AwAUE2lE/видео.html The camera work isn't so hot but hopefully that lets you check em out. I'll have to get some nicer pics and stuff, maybe if the Devs venture out into the ash wastes...
@@digitalwastrel Exquisite stuff, even a progression to the first part of the gang. Straxis looks suspicious like "Durgan Kill-Fist", that was previewed last week for FW :D Guess you inspired the sculpters. He got the tiniest grenade launcher muzzle on whole Necromunda though.
What can I say, I'm a sucker for "sci fi person with a huge metal arm" :D Also the tiny grenade launcher muzzle may explain why he never hits anything...

Cool fluff on the excuse from cleaver to chain axe.

@@digitalwastrel Ah right, that makes sense.
new player going orlock (cause yeah I feel I'm one of em) and a Goliath gang (they remind me of my brother) this guides are wonderful

I picked up goliaths and I was very stuck on building the roster, I cannot wait to try these guys out now
Have fun with team beef!
You’ve given me some great ideas for my next Goliath gang. Can’t wait to see you do the other Houses!
Yeah you gotta break your Goliaths out of storage for sure. Other gangs are in progress as we speak...
Great content I am thinking of starting a Necromunda campaign at a local a
Shop and I am brand new to table top gaming. Keep it coming brother
Great stuff, good luck in putting together a campaign! Lots more stuff coming, don't worry!
Another very well-done video, really well-structured! Also, I just love your voice, it has such an ASMR vibe:)
You are too kind :)
This (and the other videos) is really helpful for starting up my gangs, i have models but no idea whats what.
Great video, thank you
You are welcome!

Happy to help! I'll be doing the house gangs first, but plan to get through all the options sooner or later!
great intro---take your like!
Thank you!
I’m just getting into Necromudna and chose Goliath. This guide/sample builds still pretty relevant?

What are your thoughts on the Stub Cannon? It's cheap and has Knockback. Boltgun is great, but their ammo roll is brutal.

Luckily there is always genesmithing to let you create smaller sized Goliaths, if you wish!
That intro is entirely too sexy
I can't help the way Necromunda makes me feel

You're bit with the workout opening. Won me over subscribed.
i worked hard to get in shape for that
Yeah
Why not make them Poison Jam?
If i can find some monster masks that's a good idea!
No way that fiery intro didn't get this video demonetized!
Can't get demonetized if I'm not getting paid at all ;)
Flamers are excellent, but yes overcosted unfortunately
Yeah, it's sad! A combat shotgun with inferno ammo is cheaper and basically superior
lol the intro. :) Where is the cute doggo though??
