I would love to see the Pokémon Company re-release a single Pokémon Red/Blue remaster in a Pokédex shaped/themed handheld similar to Nintendo’s Game and Watch
I would love it if they released those old games on the switch. But it would also be cool if they put it on the game n watch :)
I would literally through my money at that lol
@@AndrewXX92 man I would throw my money too!
Same
You guys are a really great duo. You bounce off of each other perfectly and both bring something special to the podcast. In your own way. Love it !!
@@sixoneniner3560 wood is married to a female.
As long as Nintendo always leaves the option to still dock it somehow and play it on my tv, I’d love for Nintendo to stick with the hybrid console approach. I personally just don’t use my Switch undocked, ever. For me, playing video games is a relax and have a drink, after work and unwind activity. So I’m playing on my tv. But the option is neat and I completely get the camp of players who play on the go.
Edit: also, yes. Get Metal Jesus on here. The three of you talking about video games would be a hoot.
I think the switch perfectly captured console players and handheld players. I hope they keep that gimmick because it definitely worked. If they could just make it more powerful, I don’t see a reason why they should change much with it. I like having the option to take it to go
Me 2. It's a do it all: TV, handheld and partyconsole.
But I am thinking more and more about switching to Steam Deck/PC. More flexibility and I don't need to wait for Nintendo fo an upgrade. If there was a switch Pro, I probably didn't think about it.
@@brietman_ hello, my name is Robert Nintendo, I am the president of Nintendo Company. Ok, I'm making Switch Pro, it will probably be out at the end of the week
I love the Switch. I love that I have 1 system but can play it 3 ways.
I feel like they struck gold with the Switch and every system after the Switch will just be an improvement on that formula.
loving the podcast so far! maybe consider giving the people behind the camera's mics as well so that we can hear what they are saying a little better when they chime in
I definitely like this idea!
I'd want a gameboy classic or GBA classic. Everybody wants an N64 Classic but I think a GB classic would be awesome.
GBA has one of the most solid libraries ever, from just about every genre (minus horror). N64, has so much less to offer, by comparison. It’s a shame really that they went with N64 since they can’t even get those Roms to looks and run properly lol.
@@flyingplantwhale545 I have been infatuated with the n64 since I can remember. it was the first console I ever owned, but as I age this sentiment becomes more and more true. It was so experimental, which limited its library and made the games come laced with exceeding amounts of jank lol. A lot of the n64 games I still enjoy are admittedly due to nostalgia.
@@scoopstacey3112 I don't think the library was so thin because the console was "experimental".
It's just that the devs didn't want anything to do with Nintendo's bone-headed decision to go with their expensive cartridge format which was severely lacking in space. Playstation was simply the better console to develop for.
I like the idea of the Nintendo Retro Console that runs on the eShop. Seems like a smart opportunity, would make them sueing all the Rom sites actually have a meaning
Stopping people from stealing your intellectual property has meaning. You'd know that if you'd ever created something of value yourself, or if your Mother had raised you properly.
Isn't that what we already have and everyone hates?
@@BBB-pe3ip
We do?
I wish they would have done it for this NES and SNES mini consoles. It would’ve been fantastic!
Love this podcast but extra mics for some of the other people might be an idea! It felt like so many conversations had a lot missing without Kim's input
Here’s a question for a future episode: what is Nintendo’s marketing history? Everyone talks about the games but never their grossing numbers.
That could be interesting. Earthbound, American vs. Japanese Zelda commercials. The movie the Wizard.
The Gaming Historian does. But it's mostly focused around one theme, game or console.
You should listen to the Kit & Krysta podcast, they actually answer this
THAT BRUNCH DISCUSSION IS PRETTY INTERESTING! DEFINITELY WITH WOOD ON THIS ONE! BRUNCH IS ONLY UNTIL BEFORE LUNCH TIME. ANYTHING BEYOND LUNCH TIME SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS LATE LUNCH AND NOT BRUNCH.
Nobody is a bigger "I knew it" "I told you so" guy than RGT85 🤣
Guy is annoying af
Instantly came to mind lol
Yep
I unsubbed that guy when he changed his studio format to be like everyone else
I tried watching his videos and I just.... couldn't 😩
Loved this! Great job guys 💛
Loved this episode and appreciated the length and topics too~ While it does seem hard for Nintendo to screw up a Switch 2, I do feel they really need a good amount of power, so they can keep getting the third party games and I'm not sure Nintendo's willing to commit. So, that could hamper some success and maybe not sell the PS4 levels next time but still good sales since the concept works.
My parents got Donkey Kong for us when it came out. I'm sure it was in the early 80's, either 1980 or (my best guess.) 1981. Yes. I'll own it, I'm old but I've been with nintendo since day one and prefer it over all others still.
That Shrek 4-D experience at Universal is so cool! The seats move like you’re riding a horse, there’s fog- that unlocked a memory lol
The 3D TV that you were talking about was the Playstation TV that came out promoting one of the Motorstorm games, you could play split-screen full screen... non-3D side was one player and the player using the 3D glasses saw the other player's screen full screen. it was pretty innovative.
The Wii U pad had the charging prongs at the bottom, as Wood said, because it came with a charge base out of the box. Most people never bothered, and used straight cable to the pad, but I always used the base because having it docked there looked better.
As Reggie himself mentioned today, very few times has a company gone from one full success to another. It's only happened 3 times
NES to SNES
GBA to DS
PS1 to PS2
So the odds are against Nintendo for the Switch 2 having a good time all the way through.
Lol No it isn't. As a matter of fact, it is on their side. They are investing more into their own developers and the Switch itself is an appealing idea.
If Nintendo keeps making great games, they'll be OK. Thing is, Beat Em Ups is a drama king.
@@michelletackett9489 I mean, replace "Beatemups" with Bob in that last sentence and I would agree lol
Behind the camera Wood seems like such a nice guy, (don't care for the persona in his vids tho) while Bob seems like a total a-hole (weird, because he seems normal in his actual vids?).
GB to GBA to DS actually, the Gameboy original was a huge success
BTW, In Mario Party on switch (I forgot which one) The joy-con would vibrate the tune of the character whose turn it is. I think a similar thing happened with Mario Rabbids. I'd hear a "bzzz bzzz bzzz buz BIZ BIZ buhzz" if that makes sense. I found it out while playing the games while leaning on my hand/joycon. Check it out. I think there was a "lets'a'go" aswell.
I also want a Switch 2 AND a pocketable version. The dream would be something like a powerful 3DS that could be docked. A TRUE all-in-one.
I've been dying for a proper, pocketable clamshell console
The chinese market has some but you gotta mess with emulators and ROMs and such, but there's just nothing new on there
Loving this podcast. The sound is really low at some points and really high at some points though. Cant wait for the next one.
The retro console running with the eshop sounds cool. NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA. 100 bucks, game boy micro style but DS sized ( like the game boy “macro” mod for the DSlite).
LMAO I love how the intro came together after all of that
Bob: “I put my own videos on AutoPlay when I go to sleep.”
Wood: 20:29 😂😂😂😂
It’s easy to forget as we get new episodes each week, but there is some fuckin GOLD in the backlog of old podcast episodes lol
This was a great episode! It definitely didn't feel like a whole hour went by! Can't wait until the next one.
54 minutes is not an hour. Just saying.
The Wii-U was the stepping stone for the Switch. They doubled down and they came out swinging!
24:59 Woods response right after Bob asked what did he like about WiiU….🤣🤣🤣diiieeed!! It’s like he really had no words.🤣
The intro hit perfectly!
As doing this podcast I think it’s a good idea to get guests on that are still with Nintendo or maybe do Nintendo like yourselfs but not work with them but love this
47:00 it can be 3-6 feet in places regularly. give wood a shovel, get him to the beach, and get him practicing his driveway and sidewalk moves!
you gotta make longer episodes, they are awesome and just listening to you guys talk it's so much fun
I never saw this podcast until now, when i heard about wulf leaving. Damn, this are fun.
So awesome having you two together!
Had a lot of fun listening to the episode kind of go off the rails at the end there! Freakin cars in space! All the Nintendo talk was great too 😄
Loved the video. Loved the creative speculation and humor. But… most of the time I have to watch these is at my job and I work in a server room (basically) lots of loud fans etc. thought or critique for future nontendo videos. Could the audio be a bit better. You guys get LOUD and then quiet quite a bit and half the time I need to rely on the subtitles. Aside from that, still very entertaining. Love you.
this podcast is the DEFINITION of "I didn't know I needed this until right now."
Loving this podcast! Loving the chemistry between Wood and Bob! Hated the last 10 mins of rambling and conversing with all the people off camera and off mic that were impossible to hear lol
as a torontonian, i gotta say its kinda amusing watching people in the US talk about the snow. especially considering our winters aren't even that bad
Those noisy pants will get you a Nintendo cease and desist
Hi wood so looking forward to the podcast, it'll be amazing before school! Great vids and streams at the moment, keep it up!
I enjoy the chemistry of each of you :D Very well done :D
All your friends that were in the room should be on the podcast :) it was really cool when it turned into a convo between friends
The IR scanner is used in ring fit adventure to check your heart rate after a workout, it actually gets it right compared to my Apple Watch
I love Wulffs joke "I'm not a Parker, Ima Wulff.
Bought a Switch 2 weeks ago, So glad to have discovered you guys.
Kinda seems like this podcast is about getting their frustrations of Nintendo out from what I gather
Even though they are still big Nintendo channel gamers
Love this, what Bob was talking about a small pocketable nintendo console, that is really what I want more than anything. I've had nintendo handhelds since I was about 4 years old when I got a Gameboy Advance SP, and I have had every nintendo handheld since, every one of them had fit in my pocket until the switch. I was very upset about it when it first game out, I got one anyway but it took a long time before I actually liked it. It made me so mad when the switch lite came out and it was still too big to fit in a pocket, I want a pocketable nintendo console again more than anything! Would absolutely love it if they came out with a switch lite revision with a clamshell design.
The Wii and the Switch are the only two Nintendo home consoles that didn't ship alongside a Mario game.
NES: Super Mario Bros.
SNES: Super Mario World
N64: Super Mario 64
Gamecube: Luigi's Mansion (IT COUNTS!)
Wii....
Wii U: New Super Mario Bros. U
Switch...
They definitely use HD rumble a lot more than you think. It is just that it is not this big gameplay focus. In Legends Arceus, all of the strong and agile move has a HD rumble feedback and you get a feedback for when those rifts appear too. It is not something you need HD rumble but it does enhance the experience more than standard rumble.
Good episode, but you should get a mic for whom ever speaks off camera or repeat what they said.
About watching your own video, or when someone watches you're videos while in the same room, I do the same thing - watching my video while I'm in the same room is FORBIDDEN LOL
They need to make a switch pro around 500-700 that can play all switch games and exclusive switch pro games. Better ports(eleden ring etc. ) can be for the switch pro, they don't need to introduced to the regular switch. They can continue with the switch and switch light and switch pro's that way they have a whole eco system of switched for everyone. Maybe even more games that work for both. But the switch pro have some sort of ability to scale up the game or extra downloads required for the switch pro to make the game look better. That would be the dream..
I would probably by the switch pro coming from the regular switch. I'm sure many who want a good graphic quality portable system would up of be happy. And those who see that the switch is here to stay would and don't have to much money would get the cheaper versions.
I also always loved the Wii U gamepad. Playing Nintendo land with my friends was peak party games.
I can see Nintendo leaning heavy into AR content in their next console. They dabbled with in on the 3ds and with Mario Kart Home Circuit. Now you can scan your back yard and build your own course, build your own Mario level in your living room with AR blocks, may an AR headset or glasses. Seems like something they could and would dive heavy into.
I know I’ve of the ports on the bottom of the GameCube was used for a Game Boy plaster attachment. It came with a disc to put in the top, then you’d plug a Game Boy or GBA cart into the attachment and could play it on the screen, similar to the Super Game Boy for SNES. I actually use that all the time to play Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission now lol
Love this episode!
Maybe the volume a little bit up next time?
I love your mix of personalities on this podcast.
I think the new console may even come with a switch... hear me out a home console 4k capable that is paired with a switch or at least has a built in dock for switch backwards compatibility with upscaled graphics. AND the ability to use a switch in a similar manner as the WIIU gamepad! paired with a console and that is the way they are going to continue the DS(dualscreen) format for games!
That would be expensive af
You both are my favorites! Can't wait to see the bonus episodes once I get money to pay you for it.
Bobs wrong, the first game and watch came out in 1980 and donkey Kong was 81
Loving the podcast guys. Just now getting to it.
I could go on and on about 3DTVs, but I'll keep it simple: viewing 3D programming on a 65" LG OLED E6 or C6, the last year for 3D sets, is breathtaking. Do it.
As a Jeep owner the discussion about the Jeeps was very frustrating lol. The Willys and Rubicon are trim levels of the Wrangler. The Rubicon is the top “off road ready” trim. The Gladiator is the truck version that also has a Rubicon trim level. Anyway love the podcast, just maybe stick to video games, jk.
i would love a metal jesus cameo on this show
Great podcast, guys. I am a huge Nintendo fan and listening to this podcast feels like I've returned home
I don't usually watch podcasts. But this one I like
This podcast is forreal really good. I’ll admit I only watch either of you occasionally but this podcast is fire.
30:49 Disappointed that Bob never made a reference to Roman at this part.
Game and Watch wasn't even the first generation of nintendo gaming consoles. it was their second. Their first generation of consoles were the Game-on-color-tv consoles that each came with like 5+ games built into the controller board.
But Wulff's right on about the timeline. 1975 they transitioned toward video games.
I liked the wii U gamepad very comfy also It was like a giant DS and the "TV button" was very convenient and the first consol with HD. I will being stuck next to the console to play on gamepad
Those two new ir scanners can now detect both my nipples.
please we need to talk about the emulators on the switch, love the podcast, love you all, much love !
Wood last episode: I dont have that problem
Wood this episode:
Brunch start with B so Breakfast comes before lunch. 2pm would be Linner.
That HD rumble and PS5 vibration situation makes me think of Sega back in the days ! They were the one innovating new things and after that Nintendo (and Sony when they arrived woth the PS1) released nearly the exact same thing, people said it was revolutionary and then people was pointing finger sega saying they were behind woth their features but these same features would surely not have been what it is if Sega wasnt there !
The ads and volume on Spotify is too annoying for me. I'll just listen on RUclips when I get time. Hope quality improves
The space phone had me rolling, hope this keeps up enjoying it!
I don't know why I focused on the 2 connected controllers with mario64 in the console... even with zelda next to it doesn't help. Toss over Fzero or something. Nit Pick satisfied. Loved the Pod.
Does anyone know why there is no Yellow or Gray switche lites in stores? I can only find blue, turquoise and coral . I want it for my kids birthday and I cannot find gray nor yellow :(
Wood isn't wrong. Our phones get signals from outer space. GPS receives info from sattelites the pin point our location. And that's also pretty awesome!
They could have adult make a small retro handheld that is hooked up to an online store and can download any of the old ROMs; Nintendo, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, GC, NDS, 3DS, and each game can be Dow loaded for like $10-30 OR just have a monthly subscription for their Retro games for like $15/mo
If there was an "open" HD rumble pack for developers to use and modify, it'd probably be used more often. I don't know how challenging it is to program that stuff so maybe for normal devs, who are used to just length of rumble or intensity of rumble it is too much.
Yeah that Sony TV where u had split screen with each having fullscreen was neat but not perfect. I do miss playing House of the Dead on PS3 in 3D
Usually not into podcasts but this one is a winner. Really wish ZombieU was on the Switch though.
Im not gonna lie Black ops 2 on the Wii U is still one of the best FPS experiences ive had. Wii U was such a good system. They shouldn't have made the pad the focus but I loved the games that utilized it properly. Zombi U, Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, Black ops 2 and Ghost to name a few. And I'm one of the few that like Star Fox Zero. Just wished there were more control options and an actual multiplayer instead of the garbage they gave us and the god awfel Star Fox Guard.
Gotta turn bob's mic up. I'm living on my volume rocker here at 4am lol
It's great to see you both working on a project together!
I have to say that after all these years Super Bomberman R is still one of the party games we always play. Solo story was awful, but playing with 4 friends is just so fun. Also, regarding features that don't get used... it bothers me that not even Nintendo doesn't use the touch screen, not even for in-game menus.
Related to the new Nintendo Switch, it should keep the 720p screen but have a better SOC to have good 1080/1440p 60 frames, and joining with AMD for the use of Super FidelityFX could be interesting. I don't see them going the road for SSD and I don't think Nintendo will put many storage options out there, at least at the beginning, so 128 internal storage + SD card may be the best way to go. WiFi 6 please because the current WiFi chip sucks.
38:16 bruh we have reached the stage where we call ARMS "the boxing game."
Love the podcast so far! But would you mic Kim please?!?! I would love to hear what she's contributing 😅
Just FYI: Our phones DO recieve signals from space. Its called GPS
One of the worst possible scenarios for a Switch 2? Probably making it cloud-based.
Maybe it's a good way to play modern triple A games. But I have the luxury to play games on pc. So I would never pay €60,- for a cloud based game with compression artifacts.
I own 4 switch docks, I really hope whatever their next console is maintains the same physical dock interface
Love this but can you add subtitles to anyone who doesn't have a mic in future episodes 👀
You should rename the video "two idiots arguing about brunch" lol
Captions for off camera dialogue would be great
Stay in the city for those one-two feet “blizzard” upstate along the I-90 corridor especially western NY, 12-24 inches is at least once a year, and that’s just a “winter storm” blizzards are minimum 3 feet in 5 hours up here. And yea those are like once every other year to once a year by Buffalo rest of upstate like once a decade.
dammit it already 1 hour? another great episode, loved this!! but about the extra episode, have you consider on youtube? on the member thingy? I heard you can do something like that on youtube membership too
I can't keep my eyes of Wood and Bobs portrait - its glorious XD great podcast btw!
Okay, talk about desgine, I think nintendo should go back to a 3 pillars model, but one like this
Pillar 1: Good quality retro consoles
Pillar 2: Switch lite(and successors), Switch(and successors), Switch Console (and successor)
Pillar 3: E-shop handheld/emulator styled after retro handhelds
