Very stout little unit! My OCD can appreciate all the extra labeling and fine details put into this inverter!

Love you using the oscilloscope. The Victron Multiplus 48/5000 was definitely a cleaner sinewave. I hope you do this on every inverter you offer to sell. It is hard for the average person to have access to all the inverters you have to see the quality of the waveform of each inverter. Thanks

Excellent tear down and quite uplifting! The Sol-Ark is changing a whole industry!

How about putting a 4kW load (or something close) and checking the waveform? Would be interesting to see how well the waveform looks under load.

On the subject of the wire labeling and capacitor layout/orientation, Sol-Ark (and probably Sunsynk; many of their engineers are Brits) did a lot of the design of these inverters and so touches like these aren't surprising. This is why Sol-Ark and Deye have an exclusive distribution agreement for the single phase 3 wire versions of their inverters.
That looks like the same control board as used in the Sol-Ark 12K. Also, the screen and other user interface stuff is handled by a separate processor on the screen board. I may have done some digging in one of mine...

Loving these in depth videos. Would be very interesting seeing how each perform with both resistive and inductive loads.
Most videos just use space heaters or small power tools but not bigger motors with no soft starters to test surge capacity.

Yes load test, I have seen many installs Sol-Ark 12k and 15k, but not load test, to me a load test is proof of a real world loads. I won't buy and inverter without a proved load test.
09-30-2023 edit to change with to "without"

@@Scat.original exactly, most of the time they only show powering resistive loads with no surge, and that's interesting as well, but I'm not planning on running a single heat gun off an a $1K+ inverter, I need to know if it will perform in a real world scenario.

Running an AC unit would be a good test - something with maybe a 2 ton capacity (about 1 HP if 14 seer) would be reasonable for an inverter of this size.

For sure finally somebody does a really good review on these inverters. Please compare the other ones that are coming out with the sol ark. I see many similiar. Very curious if the insides are about the same

Finally a proper way to measure idle load. None of that clamp meter nonsense like other channels do. Please do real dc-ac efficiency testing next.

    Deye inverter, the quality inverter!!!

Very descent construction and world class capacitors. The idle power consumption can still be reduced further if they tried a little harder though. Thanks for the review and teardown.

I have been curious as to how durable and reliable these are vs victron. Seems like the majority of off grid folk are using the sol-ark

Great detailed review! This little inverter is a beast. I wish it had OCPD for the inputs like the larger inverters. And the front cover is kinda ugly wish they would’ve kept the same side latch design.

Looks like a nice little inverter but I just can't get past the 60W idle draw.

How is the fan noise on this? Versus say the Victron 5kVA multiplus 2? Thanks

Looks similar to the Deye and Sunsynk inverters sold here is South Africa.

That's what I want to see- a tear down on all similar models - we are seeing in the USA also.

Sol-Ark, Sunsynk and Deye inverters are all made by Ningbo Deye Inverter Technology Group, but with some hardware, software and user interface differences depending on the brand.

@@randacnam7321 it seems like their are many others also, would be cool to see a comparison tear down on all these. With oscilloscope and ul differances etc.

@@CRsolar What would also be interesting is to do teardowns of Deye/Sol-Ark/Sunsynk inverters compared with some rebadged Deye inverters marketed in the third world (Cellcronic etc.) and see what corners were cut.
