I work as a healthcare professional.... and every time I get in a difficult situation I think of Ron Moody in this scene and sing..... "I'm reviewing, the situation"......it always makes people laugh. ha ha

I was in Oliver with Ron at the Piccadilly Theater in the 60's
It was a pleasure acting with him.

And I saw you from Box B! A rare privilege. Ron toned down his East End Jewish accent for the film, which I thought was too bad, although I suppose it was inevitable.

Ron and I became friends back in the late 1980s, and stayed in touch for many years after. What a delightful and talented man. I have so many lovely memories of him... and many funny letters (he was a prolific letter writer and excellent author)!

@@CultgentlemanJack No doubt! His humor was sly, and his stories about his life just as funny and fascinating. We spent time together when he visited the US, and nearly made a comedy/horror film, but the deal fell apart at the last moment. From that point on we stayed in touch via letter writing... and they're really funny!

Such a talented actor. His film performance as Fagin is one of the greatest in musical film history. He's also very good in Mel brooks' film TWELVE CHAIRS and in THE FLIGHT OF THE DOVES (also with Jack Wild & Mark Lester)

What a brilliant man. As much as I appreciate his response as to why he believes people admire that character so much, I think it’s a mix of his mischievousness but most importantly it’s because you can see deep down he truly has a heart of gold. He brought those boys in when they had absolutely nothing and treated them as his own. Beautiful character.

Ron made the film and no-one else.

Lionel Bart exceptional songs _ Ian Dury of his time.
    Great talents - all three.

      Nonsense.
      They all had great acting.
Oliver Reed , Mark Lester, Jack Dawkins, Shani Wallis etc.
It was al together that made the magic.
The songs also, the scenery. Everything.
And yes Ron Moody was brilliant also. Excellent performance.
As were Clint Eastwood , Lee van Cleef and Eli Wallach in The Good The Bad and The Ugly.
Not only Clint Eastwood. It's the mix of great characters that do it. Along with the music of Ennio Morricone the scenery.
Everything has to fit. That makes it pure bliss.
"You can go but be back soon !"

And Oliver Reed and Shani Wallis , you cannot state they were less performers than Rod Moody. That's bullocks.
Mark Lester played the role of Oliver perfectly also.
And did you who the story wrote?
      Charles Dickens.
      Just saying...
