I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

XG has said in an interview that they practice the choreo without the music and just the count. Probably explains how precise they are when they put it all together.

That’s what happens when your company has the money and is willing to take the time to train a group, together, for years before debut. Like, they trained as a unit for a long while so they were already in sync.
Most Korean companies don’t do that.

fr a lot of people say this about a lot of groups and i usually don't agree lol but this is genuinely the first time i've felt like a rookie group were seasoned artists

With so many groups coming out, your group needs to stand out a lot and it might seem like they are debuting as if they are in the game for a while but if you watch certain groups debuts, they look like they are doing a bit too much or might look a bit lost. Experience in the field is always necessary even if you come from another company.

XG is the first group I've got no bias in! I actually can't choose. They are all gorgeous, super talented in all the ways! LOVE THEM. 😍
It is Sienna!! I think Jurin has a big hand in helping her team learn the choreo. The formation changes are always satisfying and fluid it’s crazy how often they do it.
It's actually Jurin and Hinata. They learn the basic choreo first because those two are XG's main dancers.
jurin is such a great dancer and performer, you couldn't help but to notice that she's THERE.
couldnt have said it better, they are very vibey, maybe even the vibiest one out there. They are very refreshing to me it feels like they are very individual they have their own aura instead of how its been so dominant with yk very prejudiced forced exxagerated acting (dont get me wrong :D i do eat all that music too) butyes seeing them have their own personalities showing so evident in the mvs itself is just so refreshing. and ig its the street dancer like vibe i get from them? like some of them GOTTA BE from street dancing roots man (specially Cocona, its so evident. here again i am not saying it makes her awfully stand out, it mixes very well with the group and that is BECAUSE they ALL have their evident individualities showing. and they somehow pull it off to make it look like a group and not an unsynced mess. sheer respect).
XG is just refreshing af to me.

I love that they leave their chants and shoe squeaking in the dance practice. It just feels so organic and you can see why they're always so in sync and how in sync they are

I love how the choreo incorporates "left and right" movements. They even travel from left to right and make use of the whole floor. I love it! They're eye catching with every movement they do!
I've seen pro dancers covering it and just don't hit the spot like them. Their musicality is outstanding. Love them

When people really enjoy thr choreography and the music and the group, they want to see the deeper dives! You're reaction and breakdown + commentary provides that. There's no point of watching a reaction where there's no input and just someone watching a video 🤣 the insight into what you're watching and your perspectives are the value!
As far as I'm concerned I agree! I've never seen a kpop group this dynamic, this in sync, having this much fun performing and dancing. The old school hiphop/rnb vibes and their music bring so good is just the icing on the cake! They did everything so well!!!

One of my favourite parts of the Left Right dance practice is at the 7:31 mark of your video, when Hinata sings, "No you can't deny it......"..etc.
She's singing (beautifully I might add), and moving her arms and legs at different speeds. TALENT!!!
Every member of XG is EXTREMELY talented, charismatic, and beautiful.
As a collective, they're on their way to becoming one of the best groups to ever grace a studio or stage with their presence.

One thing that i think is very impressive about them, and I did not saw in the industry before is that they don't look like a rookie group, they came prepared and ready. I am not a expert, but for me they don't have anything to improve, just to arquive.

5 years of training, and you can see the professionalism, even though they are rookies! Besides the singing, rapping, and visuals, they are like a pro dance group in their choreo and exection!

The dance practices without the fx and cuts show us how incredibly in sync and talented they are. No other idol groups has the discipline and control of silky smooth dance moves with the perfect swag, attitude and genuine fun!

their dance practice is pretty reminiscent of when I was still competing in dance crews. the facial projections, the yelling (which was encouraged by our choreographers to help regulate breathing especially when a piece is particularly hard. it's like a moment for you to breathe without actually stopping from moving) and just the overall fun vibe it gave off. it actually made me miss dancing lmao
I've been hearing a lot about this group through friends and I wish these girls all the best. They're such a joy to watch.
Don't know if anyone know about this, these girls learnt dancing at Avex Academy since primary school hence their dance skill and stage presence are so outstanding.
Imho no one can touch XG’s vibe with their choreo. Their choreo is not fluffy and cheesy. It’s modern, aggressive and on point.
Their choreos are from Sienna, the lab and Rena. Forgot her full name. But most are Sienna
This group checks all the boxes. Hopefully they stay consistent, cause they have it all.

ACTUALLLY, couldnt have said it better yet again. They arent doing the choreo, they ARE the choreo. they can add their own minute stuff and lt me tell you imma eat that up because they are that GOOD good with it. they just have it in them. you cant do shit about it it. THey just have it. many people can dance. It takes a lotta shit to be the dance instead of doing the dance.
They've said it themselves that they learn the choreo and then they sprinkle little things into their choreo.

@Kathamrita Roy mainly Jurin, she is the one that learns the choreo first and then teaches the other girls. Jurin and kokona learn the choreos faster and have a lot of attention to small details. This is why Jurin is their "choreographer". That's the reason she was an AVEX artist academy all star and part of AVEX Shorty

im so glad you did an analysis of this choreo!!!! one of my favorite parts is when hinata sings "flip it" their arm positions literally flip/mirror, and then she sings "reverse it" and their arm movements wave open then reverse back into being closed. it's so simple yet SO satisfying and i'm glad they also show that choreo in the MV! the way they can do big movements and exude such a vibe and performance quality while retaining details is incredible, and massive props to sienna and kiel too 🙌

Jurin is the best thing that happened to earth. I bet when the God told her it’s time for you to go to earth, she said “ITTEKURUNEYY!!” (If you know, you know)
it's like MJ and Janet "Scream" + TLC = Left Right
It usually takes me time to stan a group esp now that we have so many. But when I first listen to xg, I really love their character overall as a group. Also I love how their choreos are not so extravagant to make them stand out, but it's the framing of the choreo that matches w the lyrics and just the vibe of the songs that make it a whole lot better.
Choreos for girl group has been getting more intense and had to be "outside the box" most of the time which consists of neck breaking and hip & knees twisting which is not good for our idols. But sometimes these hard choreos made people focusing more to the dance than song itself and prone to netz to attack if idols made mistake.
Whatever xg has presented so far was refreshing, and huge kudos to the choreographer for being able to capture the lyrics and made the dance more lively and story telling w the framing
