They are all good dancers but Cocona is my favourite, the way she adapts all the moves to her style and still makes them perfect is just magical
I agree. The more I watch and analyze Cocona, she is an absolute MONSTER dancer. She has so much control when it comes to isolation, knowing when to slow and pick it up on the beat/count, etc. Don't know what else to say but I look forward to watching her grow as a performer. XG ain't playin'!
Yes! she really stands out in a good way. I've noticed she puts a lot of emphasis on powerful leg and feet movement that you can tell is HER style

All members of XG were street dancers before they debuted as idols. That's why they all look like main dancers ❤️
2:34-2:42 that is so true. i think part of the reason why kiel in particular receives a lot of criticism from other groups' fandoms - saying his choreo sucks and he recycles steps and stuff like that - is because there is a disparity in skill, and the blame is not just solely on the chore/choreographer. as you said i think it's more about the execution. no shade to the other groups he has worked with bc i'm a fan of them as well but it's obvious that xg is capable and skilled enough to execute those steps which is why it works for them and not for others. it helps that their music is hiphop-oriented as well so they were able to make use of classic hiphop dance steps for it.
Thanks for the term definitions to the side of the video - I’ve heard those terms in reactions before, but was only picking up the meaning by context. Really enjoyed your reaction and would be interested in ever deeper breakdowns of what you’re seeing - like what are some of the things you are seeing Cocona doing that show a different flavor from the other members? It’s really interesting to see people react who have deeper knowledge of what XG is doing that makes them so captivating. Thanks for the reaction!
You should really check out their move vids. Especially move #2 which is made up of 7 individual vids of each member performing solo and each member showcases a different style of dance. If you watch move #1, you would have thought they were a dance crew. Both move #1 & move #2 are pre-debut.
Y'all need to watch their Tippy Toes and Mascara Fixed Dance Practice too, XG is just too good
It probably feels more Jpop to you....because that's their foundation 😊 They're an avex group as far as I know, but they attend Korean music shows and sing in English (mostly), Japanese, and Korean

Great reaction, mates! when you watch again and listen to the music and lyrics, you can see how well integrated the Choreo is at each step, each beat, each lyric. It is a perfect marriage between music, lyrics, choreo and the execution of them all in sync and in complete harmony. It is a joy to witness and they share their joy in performing it perfectly.

the first time I saw xg dance I was like "they move like professional dancers" iykwim
you know there has to be some sort of a distance between fans and idols to make fans actually see them as idols. i lowkey hate how some girl groups tend to create this kind of distance with thick makeups and *picture-perfectly sculpted* faces but not focusing on something truly matters like music, choreo and rapping skills. XG is not meant for any kind of distance, but the way they sing, dance and rap never fails to make people feel like ''oh wow that's something I can't reach but really want to, they deserve tons of admiration''. These are the real tough muscle that never goes stale, and what makes XG Xtraordinary Girls.

The diagonal reminds me of yoo seung jun. He was known for that in his song nightmare. He's the most natural dancer in kpop history, try reacting to him if you can. His dance tapes he sent to korean companies as a kid in the states are legendary.

They are Japanese - with a Japanese company; however, the producer is Korean. And I think they are based in Korea.

Idk what it is exactly, but something in the way they move in this choreo reminds me of a lot of boy group choreos that have very sharp and quick moves. You don't see that a lot with girl groups and that's why I really like XG. They really can do any kind of dance, but they kill it with hip hop style dance.

while xg are amazing, some of the comments about kpop choreo makes it sound like you haven’t seen much? apologies if I’m wrong but should probably check out more. that being said, xg is a breath of fresh air and you are correct in that they are more towards street dance since if you check out their ‘Move’ videos, they can easily come off as a dance crew if you didn’t know they also sang and rapped. definitely one of the best girl groups in that aspect.
They're absolutely on point tbh. Choreographers directors have to choose a choreo that the whole group can perform. BTS is my top 3 boygroups and it's very clear that RM had a lot of years to polish his dancing skills execution wise and he's still not there with jimin. And we're fine with that. We still enjoy BTS for what they are, they're the sum of their members. But choreographers work with that. XG excel in dancing, rapping and R&B... that's what they trained so hard for and it shows.
