    They are Japanese and formed in Japan. Their parent company Avex(Japan's big label) cooperated with Kpop producer "Simon" and made XG. They had been mostly trained in Japan, and then moved to Korea to prepare for their debut, then have been based in Korea
    Their pd "Simon" wants to mix Kpop system with jpop, western pop elements into XG
    because he has three national backgrouds (korean father, Japanese mother, born in America)
    and he has knowledge about kpop, jpop, western pop
    XG has released only English songs from their debut single to approach the global music fans easily because they want to get fame and success globally(not only in Japan)
    So they say they are "global girl group"

    XG is a Japanese girl-group formed under XGALX which is a subsidiary of AVEX and currently they are based out of Korea. They have been training for 5 years and most speak Japanese, English, and Korean. All are girls are Japanese however both Harvey and HInata are Hafu. Harvey (Amy goes by her last name as a stage name) is half Australian and Japanese while Hinata is Half Japanese and Korean. All of their releases have been in English and all of the young women stress that they are an international group. They always say when asked if they are Kpop or Jpop, they say that they are Global Pop (Gpop?). Anyhow, loved your reactions to this.

    XG is jpop based with r&b and hiphop 90s that influence Japan un those times as hiphop and r&b got in Japan before kpop was copied from jpop. Simon (XG pd) said in an interview the reason why he decided to make the group under japanese members was that Japan have the best r&b and hiphop knowledge that's why the Japanese choreographers are widely known so all the members of Xag were chosen from a distinct entertainment company in Japan very know for hip-hop and r&b actually all Japanese music industry is know for that. Also kpop is the Jpop from the 70s that a Japanese entertainment company created and still used the system and standard even the beauty standard.any followed but after the bubble crushed idol industry in Japan changed and Koreans took it as theirs at the beginning they admitted but now not.

    The difference between XG and some other Kpop gg is the Textures of their movements it has varieties..You don’t see this type of dance crew choreography often..especially in a gg stand point..XG is bringing it back that late 90’s and early 2000’s western sounds with the kpop influenced(kpop influenced by the western world)..So XG is turning it back around to the 90’s and early 2000’s western musics with their own twist..That’s why all the members are influenced heavily by the western artist than the eastern artist(jpop,kpop etc)..

      @@kunikuzushis again, i never said he didn't put the same effort in other choreos, he could have put the exact same effort or even more in other choreos, but, for me, this one is way way way more well done in terms of it being interesting and impressive to watch than most of what he has done for other groups in the past. for example, personally i love this choreo way more than any choreo he has created for blackpink before, which is a shame bc ik those girls surely could pull off way nicer choreos, and ik even other blinks (at least my blink mutuals on twitter) are a bit tired of the choreos they've been getting from him (it could honestly just be what yg and other companies ask him to do, maybe they put restrictions on the type of choreo they want or smth, not saying it's entirely his fault ofc).
      but yeah to summarise i don't think he puts less effort in other choreographies, i just think they are far less impressive compared to this one. tbh i can't even think of any kpop choreography made by him that i like more than this one or that even comes close to this.
      again, this is my opinion, and ik a loooot of ppl that think the exact same, and i'm not hating on him, i'd just love to see other groups getting routines as cool as this one!

    • @kunikuzushis
      @kunikuzushis Год назад

      @@lilsemanas I disagree purely on the fact that blackpink isn’t a dance oriented group (though lisa is obviously strong) so I just think they don’t look good doing his choreo as in if you have it to a group of stronger dancers, they would pull it off better. that being said, group choreos are never 1:1 as we see from choreographers uploading original choreo that the company decided to pick and choose which part they like from different choreo to fit the song or the group more. I just also find the hate he gets for something like “reusing choreo” (which is ?? considering it’s just a basic step or not more than a 2 count) silly from kpop fans who know little to nothing about dance and calling him bad hence my tone in my previous comments so I apologize for that. I love his ‘more & more’ choreo for twice; lots of “weird” or unconventional moves but they pull it off well because they’re strong performers and the dance break is one of my faves to this day from them.

    6:10 Okayyy let's clear this up. Technically and in general, fr, XG is a GLOBAL group using a Kpop-idol system (synchronized dancing, aesthetics, video production & promotion wise are heavily based on the Kpop scene), singing a Western/American-style music BY a Japanese girl group. I'm new to them and heard bits of Mascara before but never liked it cause it sounds so fifth harmony (and it was promoted via Ad in YT videos). BUT SHOOTING STAR AND LEFT RIGHT??? DAMN, THEY CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. That's their entire image nowwww! They rock R&B and Hip Hop man!! And what's interesting is Simon Jakop, the Executive producer and producer of this group is a Japanese-Korean man BORN in Seattle, Washington, United States. DO YOU GUYS SEE IT NOWW??? Simon's roots is reflecting through XG's works! THIS IS FREAKIN AMAZING! You can tell that he's gonna be leading these girls high up to the stars! He had a great team this January comeback and I hope he keeps them cause jeeeeez I'm stayin with XG right after I gave them a chance to listen via RUclips ad(again)! I hooooope the west, especially America give themselves the opportunity to look at them cause I see so many reaction vids from the african-american/black community recognizing and getting good vibes with the samples and rap flow they hear from the Rap team of XG! Just look at GALZ XYPHER vid!!

      XG has always said that their influences come from American hip hop and R&B music and artists of the late 90s and early 2000s (which still has a huge impact in Japan and a subculture there), they sing in English and their lyricists and composers are mainly western, these are the reasons that make them a Global group. This is not a problem, they're just trying to make their own thing and not be labeled as J-pop or Kpop💁‍♂
      About XG: they were trained in Japan at Avex Artist Academy, then moved to XGALX (Avex Subsidiary) and traveled between Japan and Korea before moving there the last few years before their debut.
      Idk what you mean by korean music business, since song production started around 2017 in Japan with a team from different countries mostly Americans, some of them are part of Avex USA (there are photos and videos on social networks that you can cross with Avex business reports to confirm it) and AVEX is in charge of the distribution of the CDs (they are also related to the group's fan App).
      They started promotions on Korean music shows when they released Mascara, and during that time they also appeared on TV in Japan, where they were interviewed via Zoom (I don't know if they appeared on *TV* elsewhere, but they did some interviews for different magazines and media in countries such as the US, Brazil, Indonesia and India, among others). Since Tippy Toes they have *promoted mainly through social networks* like Tik tok, RUclips, Twitter and Facebook (those are not Korean by the way).
      In addition to promoting through interviews with different media from many countries, they are promoting on the radio in Japan and the United States (currently Top 40 on the Mediabase Top 40 Radio Airplay Chart).
      I also don't know what you mean by Korean fan system, since idol culture originated in Japan and I don't see any particular difference from a J-pop group so far (fan part) 🤔
      XG is currently based in Korea, but they work with people from different countries and the origins of the group are in Japan since they are part of an Avex project (if anyone is interested, you can search the company reports). Your comment makes it seem like it's all thanks to the Korean industry (sorry if that's not the case), which is not true. They have said that they are grateful to be able to work from that country, but that should not be used to erase or belittle the work (or inspiration) that other people and companies have put into this group.

    • @fl_mmm
      @fl_mmm Год назад +2

      XG is a global HipHop/R&B girls group.
      Synchronized dance 칼군무 or formation dance is one of the characteristics of Kpop, so Westerners not familiar with the Asian music market would probably say XG is a Kpop group.
      In South Korea, the relatively small size of the Korean domestic market has led to a strong global activities using RUclips and SNS, which has given Kpop a high degree of recognition outside of South Korea.
      In Japan, the Japanese domestic market is relatively large, and the mainstream of promotional activities are at Japanese entertainment TV shows that are not distributed over the Internet. In addition, in Japan, unless they are rock band groups, music groups appearing on Japanese music TV shows are skewed toward female idol groups produced by Akimoto Yasushi and male idol groups from the Johnny's agency.
      Talented dance&vocal groups from Japanese entertainment companies such as avex and RISING PRO are not well known in Japan or internationally because of the few opportunities for them to appear on Japanese TV programs.
      Famous training schools in Japan, like avex artist academy and RISING studio have been around for a long time. Okinawa Actor’s School, Actor’s School HIROSHIMA ,and EXPG are also well known in Japan.
      XG was created by the company funded by avex. As mentioned above, although all members of XG are Japanese nationals, it is quite difficult to perform music widely in the current domestic Japanese market. Seattle-born Japanese-Korean XG's producer combines the Korean and Japanese training systems, and he is promoting to all around the world including appearances on Kpop music programs distributed on RUclips.
      Due to the delicate situation between Korea and Japan, XG's producer is in the process of setting up promotional activities through trial and error.
      I don't think you can call it "Spanish music" just because it is pop music sung in Spanish. Even the music of American artists can be debated as to what category of music it belongs to.
      Do we have to classify XG as music from any single country just because all the lyrics to their songs are in English, or because of their prominent appearances on Korean music shows, or because they are a group created by a company funded by a Japanese company?
      From the beginning until now, XG has explained through lyrics the music they want to do.
      I think it would be a good idea for those who have hard ideas about music to listen to XG's music and try to understand what they say.
