1946. The War was over... ...the Culture was waiting for something new to happen... ...and in 1956, it did. But nothing happens in a vacuum, and the 10-year process that it took to get the nation ready for Elvis, American Bandstand, et. al., started HERE. If you really listen to Fina's left hand, and to what the drummer is doing... ...this is Rock'n'Roll.
Before the internet....in the 70s I looked high and low for this record in Chicago. Just for this song. Finally found it. Then went to the old Lyon&Healy store on Wabash for the sheet music, They still had an original copy! 40 yrs later I still can't play it. lol
Thanks for sharing this. Bumble Bee electrified me when I was a child and sparked a love of music that thrives to this day. Fina did a great job in bringing this classic to the public . It blew my mind as a little kid to see it put on the big screen in Disney's Merry Melodies. I own the DVD just for this song.
Thanks for the memories! I remember on the "flip side" was the great song: "Now and Forever". I also remember that Jack did a "solo" version of both these songs. I think it was on the "Mercury" lable. Not for sure. Would like to hear the flip side. Thanks again.
Walt Disney's Melody Time brought me here. But also, I'm doing a segment of Bumble Boogie for a film I'm creating called "Fantasia Reborn", a spinoff of Fantasia. This segment will feature Ed, Edd n Eddy in my film.
I like the BIG BAND part of this, but THIS VERSION IS TOO SLOW! The one from TV I believe in 1959 is much better, though the audio quality is not as good

Wow!I loved this but I loved all the beebop when I was in school.
One of my family's favorite records. I was 11 years old, when they recorded this, and being a pianist, I loved it!
Wow this is Great!

This song kicks!!!
Wow, that's authentic. Feels like going back to 1947. Heard this song in Melody Time, but hearing it in its real glory from an original record? Nice!
I was lucky enough to score a 45 with Fina playing Bumble Boogie solo. It's a treat.
Thank you for uploading.
Thanks for the vid !!!!
No one did it quite like Jack Fina!
i was looking for this~
For the record, the picture was called "Melody Time".
