Question: Wouldn't applying Camera Raw in filter do the same thing, more or less, as Lightroom? And why do you save the image as PNG before going into Lightroom? Apologies for the newbie questions.

Thanks for this Martin really good to follow your workflow - I've previously been using the combine RGB feature in APP and just using Photoshop for final tweaks, and hadn't been aware of the Selective Colour feature. BTW isn't the Camera Raw filter in PS the same as the processing you're exiting to do in Lightroom?

Nice tutorial. I just recently posted something similar on my channel, but then using Siril for stacking and recombining the data. I also didn't use a mono camera, but I used a one shot color camera (ASI294MC Pro). Using the L-eXtreme filter I could capture the Ha and OIII in one go. The S2 data I got by shooting another night with a S2 filter. How did you align the three channels? Using DSS?
Thanks Martin. Yes, I used DSS. I used the best Ha image as the reference for the registration of all images so that they automatically align when combined in PhotoShop.
One other thing - do you know in PS if it's possible to assign more than one filter image to each channel? In APP I've been setting SII to R, Ha to G and OIII to B, but then also assigning SII and OIII also to Green so each filter contributes 33% to Green.
One way to do this is to combine multiple filters first using carefully chosen layer transparencies, then copy the resulting image into the required channel in the RGB combination image. There are probably other ways that are easier, but I don't know them (yet). If you find a great way to do this, please let me know.
