- The A-5C is a Chinese tech tree premium strike fighter that does basically everything well. It can perform CAS, it can take out air targets, and it can even go after bases. It does lack some key features, however, and I will go over ALL of that and more in my full A-5C review.

I would also like to mention in the official direct hit stream today they stated “we can say that the devs have decided to add 2 additional mounting points specifically for rockets” and implying that it will be able to hold more load outs

okay so I've Just watched a few of Tankenstiens Reviews and honestly, my Guy is so good at reviewing vehicles. He hits every important point, compares it to comparable aircraft, shows you how to use it best depending on the game mode, he makes the pro's and con's clear, and every review feels Fair. There are a lot of war thunder youtuber's who make "reviews" of vehicles but they're always making previews only talking about the stats. keep up the good work I love these videos.

The j35a is stupid fun to fly, easily the most fun I've had in warthunder for a while
@Max Bellew hmmmm the J35a is very good but you got to turn fight and be accurate with youre guns cuz the 4 missiles cant hit much if it isn't going straight. If you get behind ppl and turn till they go straight for speed then yea it'll help big time. The A-5c has to beautiful missiles that are literally like magic at times but you only get 2 so you'll have to land etc.A-5c starts in the Air but cant turn fight much. In the end it really comes down to you're play style! I prefer the A-5c since im not the best turn fighter.

Currently the loadout given to the A-5C isn't complete, as in real life the Fantan would have 10 pylons. Gaijin has confirmed that they'll give the remaining 2 pylons in the later patches, this sexy beast left its mark in PAF history.

Fighting this in the J35A has been slightly annoying. It can zoom away from you pretty easily. I guess that and the missiles are what earn this the 0.3 higher BR.
It was surprising though I seem to have managed to avoid magics in the J35A not used to it happening that often...

The day before the update they accepted a bug report for the A-5C that says it used 130mm rockets and had a CCIP.
God knows when/if Gaijin will implement that.
EDIT: also 750lb bombs
And another pylon on the wing. It should have ten hardpoints in total.
The tech tree Q-5s are lacking ordnance too,the Q-5 early is suposed to be able to carry 6 250kg bombs,50kg bombs and even 500kg bombs,and the Q-5A/B is suposed to be able to carry 50kg,250kg and 500kg bombs too and it could carry 4 pods of the 130mm rocket,it could carry 2x missiles that were PL-2s,PL-5s and PL-7s,and it had Ballistic computer for rockets and bombs,it was already reported but gaijin doens´t care about the Q-5s its really sad since i really like the look of the Q-5s.

The Spider really fits its screw technique, it drains the energy from its enemy (as a spider wraps its web for its prey) and then kills it off. Is "Spider" a division in the Pakistani air force?
Yes :) No. 26 squadron of PAF named Black Spiders formed in 1967. Flew A5c from 1984 to 2010. And the first squadron of PAF to recieve the Jf17 thunder.
The A5C is so fucking op in air rb, a Mig 19 with Magics? Hell yeah!

@@zenitu6914 no for real lol ,if u maintain speed at around 800kmph it will easily outrate most of the stuff. its just a heavier mig19.

good video other than saying that it "really shines in CAS" its like one of the worst case planes in the game at 10.0, no targeting computer very small missile loadout and few and pretty small bombs. Not a good cas plane at all.
I honestly don't know why we didnt get at least a fucking q5b in the tech tree, we have the early and a variant, both being shit to meh on the usability scale

Im grinding my first couple of BR 9.7 -10.3 Jets atm... Feels like 70% of missle hits I cannot defend against I get from this plane.
The A-5C's problem is that it compresses really bad above 650mph, and it has absolute shit handling above 10,000 feet. BUT, I have found ways too make this plane work. If someone catches me up high, force them into a downward spiral. Once you're on the deck, rate fight them. This plane will out turn pretty much every single jet it'll face in the game below 400mph. This plane likes low and slow. Get low, get slow, and turn. Just keep turning, you will out rate the enemy.
Well this didn't age well haha I just bought the A-5C last night and watched this after but it DOES have a ballistics computer now :) Super fun to use imo

@@thinkingdokutah3490 I mean its just so annoying. Its like the harriers with their sraams that can go against 9.0s with no missles or garbage 10g missles. Its embarrasing how bad matches can be. Only upside is they can get upteired pretty bad and since they handle so slow all aspect missles can gobble them up pretty easy.
@@jeezmcgree8642 A-5C wont be getting uptiered much if at all until its gets nerfed and people stop playing it so much. Every single match ive played with my 104C had at least half the enemy team completely made up of A-5Cs.

I have a big problem. I saw that the AV 8 in the video can dodge missiles with flares Why is my AV 8 trying to radiate flares when I play but it doesn’t work? Is it another bug?
You have to select a loadout with flares
I hate this thing. I got the draken and whenever I play against this thing idk how to fight it and always die.
I also have the premium draken and when going up against A5Cs try not to loose all of your energy and trying to force them into a turn fight. Try and catch them off guard and if they get behind you just make sure to turn towards them as quick as possible so they can't get a missile out on you.

I kind of like this plane (yes I brought it), but you want to avoid 11.0 matches with it, at all cost (aka do not even spawn in 11.0 RB; believe me)! The top jets just eat u for breakfast!

You have flares and 2 magics. You can still get 2 frags if you position yourself well and third party people.

does anyone actually use radar for finding targets in air rb? i find that you can usually just rely on game sense to find enemy players, pointing a radar at them just tells them where you are.
I do. Though I use a lot of fox1’s so it’s kinda required to point your radar at people.
@@rampageTG yeah that makes sense lol. for planes that don't have sarh missiles, I usually turn the radar off unless i know the remaining planes on the enemy team don't have rwr.

Overall, F-5C, but the A-5C is not far behind. Very close. The A-5C has better missiles, but the F-5C is the better gunfighter and arguably better for CAS

They sadly took away it's airspawn in air rb alittle while ago, instead of getting there first its getting there last now which isn't that bad since most enemies already have used their missiles at that point and u'll swoop in and clean up some leftovers

@@TheTryingDutchman Its still decent with or without the airspawn because of the Matra R550 Magics, pretty sweet climb rate and nice thrust.
You'll probably be one of the last leaving the airbase but once ur in the air you'll be on that topspeed in no time.

@@BlockyRaptor F-4F early and MiG-21SMT and MF are at 10.3 and those are all much better planes than the A-5C lol
