I personally hate LEGO and there’s a huge reason why I stopped buying any sets from them and it’s clearly because they rip people off and overcharge their fans with mediocre sets it’s honestly disgusting how much greedy they have become and it doesn’t look like there’s gonna be change anytime soon.
Star Wars has a huge aftermarket and demand. They use it to fund the projects that they actually want to do and it is perfectly normal business. Personally I love it as it gives opportunity for cool things like bricklink designer program and the robotics clubs and other collaborations with extra curricular programs.
@@realmicahmillard well they fund new projects and programs with profits and Star Wars seems to be one of the more popular themes so I assume it contributes to some of the record profit years lego has had recently.
@@jedisith3864 possibly, but still not ideal logistically, they would have likely sold more clone packs if the price was adjusted to be accurate to what was included in each pack, the only reason they added more pieces to the clone pack (which was by including a "weapons rack") was because if they didn't than they couldn't have sold each pack for such an expensive price. Take away the weapons rack and add another clone trooper and the price would have more accurately reflected the quality of the product. But LEGO knows that if they included more figures in the clone pack, than in the future they may not sell as many. So they compromised the quality assurance of their product for money.
@@realmicahmillard no I think you are missing the point. Very few lego characters are collected in mass. Even fewer from licensed sets. However at every brick convention and lego event there is a massive amount of star wars. Hell even kids on reddit have been trying to gather as many troopers as they can. Don't be so naive as to believe a lower price or one more included fig would have changed legos profits. Market research has proven extremely well that lego troops sell fast and after retired the secondary market eats them at inflated prices. So yeah, I've slowly gotten my 20 packs and will stock up as long as they are in production and then sell them for over double the msrp. Done this stuff for years and it is proof lego has great marketing teams and they milk the star wars license just like I do. Just wait, kids are giving me tons of coin for retired sets already and this set will be another.
I think Marvel only has slighty more value. Compare it like this: Marvel: 4 figs 3 of which dont have leg printing 2 little builds Star Wars: 3 Figures all of which are highly detailed and a bigger build.
I was just about to say something about the Minifigures being lame, and you talked about the complexity of the Marvel figures. I would have much rather gotten 3 named figures rather than 3 lame generic minifigs. They're figure packs, not battlepacks
I is just money. They can sell 3 StarWars Figs for 15$ so they do it. People will buy them no matter if there are 3 or 4 figures. Maybe they buy even more now because they need more for the same amount of figures
So they know they can sell multiples of the accessory packs. And yet they hard limit you on how many you can buy. 5 from lego’s site and (maddeningly) 1 per person in store. Makes no sense to me.
Why, because the lego sw community failed the 501 battlepack test. We showed we don't care if we get the same thing for double the price, and this is the result 🙃
The fact is that even if you try to make them change the price/choices with your wallet that doesn't really work, look on how much backlash they got from the gunship/new hoth minifigs, did that change anything? No because there Will still be people with large wallets that do not care about the fact that they need to buy multiple/incorrect/bad/overpriced sets.
Star Wars fans being upset is ridiculous. Star Wars is CONSTANTLY getting amazing stuff and Marvel is only just in the last year and a half getting stuff that's aimed more intentionally at adults/collectors. I think this is artificial drama.
they see star wars has lots of demand and they take advantage of it. honestly that’s the only true reason
For me it's ofc because Lego are greedy or maybe the cost for production of some minifigure and new bricks affect the price
I don’t know why people are counting meek because he’s a build

I don't think that is completely true

Difference is, Star Wars one is for army building, even the hoth one is, a d every other minifig pack has 4

Thay saw that they can get away with anything if they just include wanted figures.

I would like to see more figures with rubber heads like the Simpsons! Thanks
Because star wars is their best selling theme ever
Facts
So cool
Five minifigures Marvel Lego minifigure pack set $80
Disney rly just doesn’t want money huh
It IS because of money. Army building is a thing, that's why. I don't think anyone's gonna want to army build the Marvel set.
I think that the marvel ones should only have 3, like the star wars. It's unfair.
Why are people complaining so much it's not that big a deal This is why I left the fandom complaining everywhere. No hate to Hassan though
So you’re cool with LEGO ripping you off oh okay that’s nice 😉
