    I've had some recent evidence that says riposte is in fact melee damage, which means melee quirks can be usable on MAA. I apologize for posting potential minsinformation. Originally I thought riposte was melee, and then I had people tell me it wasn't, but Thick showed me the game code and it does indeed look to be considered melee. Sorry folks. Hope this helps.

    • @fihamakash502
      @fihamakash502 3 года назад +1

      A Riposte attack will have the base stats of the Weapons held by the Heroes, inheriting base damage and critical chance before calculating any modifiers to those parameters.
      This is what the wiki says. So, even if it is considered melee, doesn't it mean that quirks or trinkets do not affect the damage output from riposte? I may be wrong because English is not my first language.

    • @ShuffleFM
      @ShuffleFM  3 года назад +23

      @@fihamakash502 That is what I originally thought as well. However if it is classified specifically as a melee attack in the riposte file, it should be able to take modifiers from melee bonuses. I guess I should have tested it thoroughly beforehand. I'll make sure to have an answer when I do the highwayman video.

    That last effect is a complete joke and I have no idea how that made it into game. It's probably the worst non-downside related effect in the entire game. First, bellow has to hit. Second, it has to debuff. Third, the enemy has to be marked by a different character. Fourth, you bank off a 5% crit increase.

    If an enemy has a 50% base chance to hit you, a 10 bonus to dodge reduces that to 40%, which is 20% less than before. Another 10 dodge reduces that to 30%, which is 25% less than before.

I know dd is more about comps and synergies than individual skill sets. But you get sidetracked about other characters and their builds,trinkets etc. When you return to the main character you are explaining i feel like "Ooh yeah, this was a MAA guide.". I personally LOVED using Rank 4 MAA for my very first run of Wolves at the Door, on a team of MAA-BH-Occ-Flag. Really made myself vulnerable to stress by giving him his own head, but holy shit was it worth trivializing Vvulf's entire boss mechanic. As it turns out, 40ish damage bombs can't really do shit against 80% PROT and trinket-buffed Reclaim heals. With that taken care of... the fight wasn't _easy,_ but it was certainly manageable given that you're just fighting off straightforward shit like bleed, direct damage, and stress at that point, rather than all of that PLUS a nuclear bomb every round.

    I like using MAA with Shieldbreaker; primarily to guard her as she uses her moves and doesn't need to setup the blocks. After that, it's either Bolster during her nightmares, or that move I already forgot the name of that increases damage, accuracy and crit for that sweet Impale-
    Edit: I also like QuickDraw Charm or other speed boosts, just so he can activate his buffs before the party goes so they benefit from it immediately

  • @utkubenli

    I LOVE the stress reduce of bolster more than the dodge. Dodge is good but -%20 stress makes stress management almost taken care of early to mid game and late game it gives you a huge boost IMO.

  • @Obversechaos
    @Obversechaos Год назад +1

    I don't know why some people see Bellow as a bad skill. It's lowering dodge is not very useful, but the reduced speed is very useful to take out an enemy or two before they'd otherwise get their action, effectively giving your party 2 or 3 extra actions per battle, while taking the same number away from enemies. In the long dungeons this can be extremely useful, saving you from dozens of enemy actions that would otherwise harm and inflict your party.

    • @mortache
      @mortache Год назад

      The argument isn't about its numbers but the likeliness of it to actually hit the enemy

    • @Obversechaos
      @Obversechaos Год назад

      Most enemies have low debuff resistance, but like most skills you're going to use often, it helps to put on a trinket that boosts it. The skill isn't very useful against bosses, but against mobs it can effectively give your party 3 extra actions per battle with slight increase to hit. All of those extra actions really add up.

    Hope i’m not too late.
    Alright so for a Rank 4 MaA comp i would pair it with the jester in rank 3. Battle Ballad and Command together can get your party to +40 ACC & CRIT. MaA Bellow can nerf the enemy depending on the dungeon(ex: cove would be easy to debuff) Due to having so much CRIT & ACC the front liners will destroy the enemy and heal stress, meaning Jester can focus stress healing the MaA. The only issue with the comp is consistent healing because you will not be able to run a standard Vestal and Hitting the back row. So to circumvent this you can bring 1. a lot of food or 2. front line Occultist, seeing as his much CRIT the party will have his heals may be better than usual and MaA can guard him so that he isn’t exposed while in the front, also you would have to play Daemons pull to reach the back liners and would be forced to choose between Sacrificial Stab, Weakening Curse or Vulnerability Hex. Option 3. is using a Support Crusader with Focus on Battle Heal as jester has Stress healing covered. Although Crusader will not be able to deal with the back line enemies like occultist.
    My Comp would be in order of rank 4-1
    MAA,JESTER,OCC,CRU
    Goal of Trying to aim for consistent healing
    If you do replace one of the front liners i would suggest having heroes that can have high Stun Chance seeing as you won’t want Foes to interfere with this strategy. Heroes such as ABOM, HEL, BH would be able to replace one of the two. ABOM due to his trinkets giving +55% stun skill chance, HEL due to YAWP, and BH due to Uppercut and Flash-bang as well as his compatibility with Finish him against stunned enemies and being able to take advantage of the high CRIT chance.

  • @moldycarrot9267
    @moldycarrot9267 3 года назад +2

    So bellow you use when you want to rob the enemy of their next turn. That it has to hit and debuff is obviously major drawbacks, I agree. But I consider it essential for hallway fights just because you're almost guaranteed to go before the enemy if it hits, with all champions, before even fast enemies.
    Battle ballad is not as huge a speed buff as bellow, -7 speed is really what bellow is about. But again, I agree that to hit and to debuff doesn't feel ideal in many situations.
    Then I'm not really using Jester with Man at arm, so I tend to lean towards bellow.

The fact that they're all but useless on their own makes them feel like a waste of a slot even though the benefits you get from the full set are much more valuable than a lot of other trinkets you could put on instead. It's kind of sad...
    Man at arms is so guilt ridden that he focuses too much on guarding his teammates, instead of crushing his enemies. His whole skillset is focused around support, but that causes him to take on too much of the pressure and eventually succumb to it via a heart attack or just being afflicted.
    If he let his teammates take on some of the burden, maybe he wouldn't die to stress so easily.

    The guy has twice as much health as jester and multiple (placement flexible) full team buffs, it's a false equivalence

    Maybe you know it. If you take Jester and Flag you can heal stress very effective. Jester play Inspiring Tune on Flag. Flag use Endure and absorb all team stress. You need gave Flag -% stress trinket. Inspiring tune buff stress resist. Flag take less and less stress. Yes, you spare 2 turns on 1 thing (stress heal). Someone can say - take 2 Jesters and jobs done. But Flag can fieght, heal HP, heal stress - I prefer Flag than second Jester. First turn: Jester Battle ballade, rest team stun/kill fos. When dangeros enemys dead recovery phase. Jest Inspiring tune on flag, Flag Endure, rest team stun/heal HP. Sorry bad english. I use it for free stress heal afflicted heroes from previus run (if i had them). I rarely trhow my money on stress heal. Go in dungeon With stressed hero a bit scary. but if first fieght not stress heavy i can recovery affliction.

      @@ShuffleFM that is wrong rank 4 manatarm team. rank 4 manatarm team is centered around two characters.
      1) plague doctor
      2) leper Or Shieldbreaker
      The idea behind team is that manatarms at rank 4 has command. command gives accuracy and damage boost to a single ally who is guarded. The idea is to make front-line characters into hyper damage carries. There are two possibles candidates to boost and those two are Leper and Shieldbreaker. One issue with Leper is that although he has high damage, Most enemies in front-line have very high prod. so this highly offsets his high damage. You can argue shieldbreaker is just a better Leper because he ignores prod but he also has 10% damage penalty and he is squishy. well thanks to manatarms, he's not squishy.
      The team is Manatarms, Plague doctor, Antiquarian, Leper/Shieldbreaker.
      Manatarms: Turn 1, you shield leper or shieldbreaker. This redirect damage to manatarms -> All other turns are spend on pressing command on leper or shieldbreaker who ramp up to deal damage.
      Antiquarian has to press "Protect me" on Manatarms, This stacks to give Manatarms like 60% prod and gives manatarm double redirection of damage. The other turns are spend on healing manatarms(Run healing trinkets on her), using Festering Vepers on high blight resistance enemies for plague doctor noxiume or using flashpowder bully last enemy that is alive for plague doctor to heal. In leper variant, Blight damage is only counter to High prod enemies.
      Plague doctor is a healer for manatarms. Do note she is only character who is not protected in this composition. her turn 1 is blinding gas. The other turns are spent healing Manatarms. you want healing trinkets on plague doctor to stack with manatarm's artifact. She can cure manatarm's bleed and blight and camping skill can cure disease. noxiume fumes can work vestering veper and flashpowder.
      Leper main move is Chop. Shieldbreaker's main move is Pierce. they do big damage when boosted with command.
      It is somewhat joke composition to run but you can run it in mid game. its not good early because you need manatarm's artifact to run it and antiquarian's early game offensive is not very good, neither are leper's inaccuracy ratings and the team is very fragile when it comes displacements and stuns. Manatarms gets no bonus if he is not in position 4. Plague doctor is heal is not good without trickets. Leper is useless if he is not in position 1/2 and shieldbreaker's early game is not good either. Antiquarian has move to go back, but no moves to go forward and her level 1 moves are terrible offensive. Its shame manatarms cannot use retribution at rank 4, but I assume they really wanted manatarms to use guard->command. The composition would be so much better in early game if he could use it on rank 4.
      At least retribution is broken in darkest dungeon 2 so there is that.
