Archie Moore, born Archibald Wright (December 13, 1913 or 1916 - December 9, 1998), was a light heavyweight world boxing champion. He was also a social figure, a television actor, and a man who became involved in African-American causes once his days as a fighter were finally over. His nickname was "The Old Mongoose." He holds the record for the most knockouts by any boxer, at 145.
Some consider Moore to be greatest light-heavyweight of all time, with a career spanning from 1936 to 1963. He never lost his crown in the ring, although he unsuccessfully challenged twice for the heavyweight title.
Moore also devoted much of his time to philanthropic work after he retired from the ring. In 1967, he founded the Any Boy Can (ABC) program in San Diego to give underprivileged youth the opportunity to participate in sports programs. He played a vital role in the ABC program as a mentor, coach, and inspirational speaker to its participants. In 1968, Moore received the key to the city from the mayor of San Diego in recognition of his work through the ABC program. Moore co-wrote a book detailing the ABC program, published in 1971 as Any Boy Can: The Archie Moore Story.

R.I.P. Archie Moore, a great boxing champion!!
Mr. Moore was a very gifted and kind man.
A man and his son were walking on a beach full of star fish; that washed up on land. The man reached down and picked one up, then throw it back in the water. His son ask, " it's so many, what difference does it make?". His father replied, "it makes a difference to that one". God bless those give of themselves; understanding it's all for the greater good. Thanks for the film.
I love Archie!! He’s a true role model!!
Those kids are , well were my age . 11 than , now 61. And many are grandparents. We only are young once. But can still be young in loving life
When I grew up I lived with my grandfather, he and Yvonne Durrell were great friends. Yvonne used to take a needle and prick his finger, if the blow into it and he would flex his arm, great trick for us kids! Yvonne and Archie became great friends after their fights.
I’m only now getting to know Archie and have read one of his books and watching more of his fights. What one hell of a man he was!
Oh My! ABC Confirmed Future Leaders. God Bless for your consistent and committed efforts😊
I love Archie Moore
That was beautiful
Archie was an American hero. We need more strong men like him.
A kid from this ABC later became a corner man for Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, and another became a great American football player
Do u have their name?
You’re speaking of Tommy Brooks and I believe he was the chief trainer for both Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield the Klitschko is Pernell Whitaker and the list goes on

Beautiful
Positive over negative- respect due to Mr Moore (RIP)
Excellent upload!!
This is amazing. Unbelievable. Archie is a legend. Imagine if we had a man like him leading our masculine youth today. Look at the boys look what they have become today. Most of us have been raised by women and its not good enough
back when men could be men

@@rossisbetterthanu Wow.
He made a tour through northern BC, teaching boxing on remote native reservations around 1980. Our club was called the Skidegate Bear Claws 🙂 He was a no nonsense teacher, demanding full effort and use of techniques. He pulled me off another kid I was hammering at in a sparring session, telling me "that's not boxing! Use what I taught you!" I'll never forget my brief moment with such a great man. He taught boxing, but it was if skills, integrity that were the real messages he got across to everyone. RIP Mr. Moore
