    Thanks for sharing my tucked half blood-knot vid in the cards Charles :). Glad you found it useful!!

      My pleasure. I think there could be a lot more collaborative links done. It's a shame that the FB group worked so well but has now become swamped by Like and Sub posts. Perhaps half the difficulty is that a lot of peoples vids cover so many topics. I chose yours because it was proper 'ronseal' material.

      @@Fishwish I agree. I like the idea of the new group working together for the common good. Sharing of other content is another way to drive viewers to our vids and ultimately feeds back into the giant ai the is ‘suggested content’ and helps it learn. I’m going to set up some playlists of videos I like and I didn’t know you could card others content so I’ll try that as well.

    Reminds me of Jack Hargreaves for some reason, steve went through a painful patch. Enjoyed it 👍

      Blimey - there’s a name from the past! Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for commenting. Poor old Steve certainly did have a rough patch but he hasn’t half picked it up quick and I’m so pleased he got his fourth fish

    Great little vid. LOVE the net cam!!!

    • @Fishwish
      @Fishwish  3 года назад +1

      Thanks so much for watching. The net cam is a cheap cylindrical bike camera and does occasionally get some good low water level shots. Not sure it’s a little vid by modern standards? Isn’t anything over 1 minute too long? 😅

    Nice piece, Charlie! Seemed a perfect day! This time of the year there's just too much fly fishing to do- buzzer peaking on stillwaters, mayfly on rivers, sea trout and salmon starting to show, work really is a bloody curse! You captured the "feel" of the day perfectly.
    Strange, I've never noticed a vid of yours from chew or Blagdon? Would have thought very local for you?? 🤔

    • @Fishwish
      @Fishwish  3 года назад

      Thanks. It was a perfect day. You’re right - I should fish chew and blagdon more as they’re 20 mins away, but I prefer to fish from my kayak which means I have to go to Wimbleball. I wasn’t up for Hawkridge at all but my friend Steve talked me into it and I’m so glad he did. Being in a tight valley means it gets shelter no matter the wind direction. The same can’t be said of chew. I will try and fish it more though. Been meaning to for the last couple of years but haven’t for one reason or another...and the one you’ve given about too many options to consider. I’m busiest with work this time of year too.

      @@Fishwish I have been fishing mostly wimbleball, what do you need to do permission-wise to kayak fish there? I've been renting boats mostly but would love to self launch at wimbleball

    • @Fishwish
      @Fishwish  3 месяца назад

      @@loony383 They ask you to buddy up for safety so minimum of two kayak anglers. Message the fishery to give names and get permission, then buy a bank fishing ticket from the Clubmate app. Theres also a self launch fee that SWLT charge.

    Hi
    Loved the video, I’ve fished hawkridge for years now, lovely fishery.
    I also really liked your friends stag horn priest and if his friend makes them I am very interested
    in buying one from him.
    Please let me know if this is something he can do for me.
    Keep the videos coming.
    Regards
    Bob.

      Hi Bob, Thank you for the kind comment. Its a lovely place isn’t it. I shall pass your message onto Steve about the priest - would quite like one myself as mine went overboard at Wimbleball earlier this year!

  • @jamslockyer

    If you want great buzzer fishing go to Chew or Blagdon, I find the fish have more natural food so feed naturally and they offer catch and release.

    • @Fishwish
      @Fishwish  3 года назад

      Thanks Jim. I really should give those two venues a proper go as they’re much closer to home. I think that past experiences there have put me off but that was more than a decade ago now and hopefully I’ve improved since then

    • @jamslockyer
      @jamslockyer 3 года назад

      We fished it last week, loads of action on straight line buzzers. No retrieve just subtle takes and loads of 3lb fish that fight harder than anywhere. Also there’s not that dread of having to go home after five fish especially when they’re feeding well. Far better value

    • @Fishwish
      @Fishwish  3 года назад

      @@jamslockyer I have only ever trout fished CVL three or four times since moving down here and I won’t lie - I’ve never done well and I still find the place daunting, but I shall give it another visit

      @@Fishwish I used to fish the Wessex lakes but I don't bother now due to the 5 fish ticket and no C&R. It's a shame really because the locations are good. So it's Wimbleball, Blagdon or Chew now if I'm not on the rivers.

    • @jamslockyer
      @jamslockyer 3 года назад +1

      @@Fishwish One thing I've noticed after years fishing the different lakes is the trout in Blagdon and Chew are normally stuffed with buzzers etc and on other lakes there's rarely much in them. I'm convinced the fish do well due to the abundance of available natural food,
