    I have just decided to get into the hobby. I have a peanut cactus and mirabilis cactus coming in the mail but I bought just a generic 'cactus'... at the garden centre yesterday! It's quite well established but coming into winter here so no blooms this time of year. I got some premium cactus potting mix for the ones that are coming in the mail.

      Hi Stephanie :- the funny thing is I also have had some strange blooms on a couple of my Peanut cacti this year, the petals are very pointed instead of round and almost look as if the petals have been shredded and on one of my other peanuts the flower was almost petaless LOL! I wonder if yours is the same too ? its not their normal flower petals, its crazy LOL! the ones in this video flowered as normal but the others are crazy, I am hoping the sun will come out today and I can film a video clip of them so you can see if yours are the same, I am at a loss as to what is causing it as the cacti themselves look healthy, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Friday XXXX

    • @desertplantsofavalon
      @desertplantsofavalon  2 года назад

      Thats wonderful news you have got a Chamaecereus cactus, its best to keep these cacti dry over the winter months, and then start to water them from Spring ( late March /early April ) onwards, I water mine every time the soil has dried out in their pots from Spring until late Summer, and then keep them dry and cool over the winter months, good luck with your wonderful new cactus and thanks so much Marlon for your wonderful comment and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend ahead XXXX
