- Kirby is a rescue axolotl that was surrendered to my local pet store 🥺. When I found him he was in super bad shape and I was unsure if he would make it through the first night.
I wanted to make sure I did everything I could to give him a second chance and the best life possible. Kirby has a long way to go. Be sure you are subscribed to the channel to follow his journey!

I blame lack of education. Alot of people have good intentions but lack the necessary knowledge when purchasing an exotic pet.
Honestly I blame games on that once I had a pet birb and I was playing roblox I wanted to do a marathon so I
played for 4 hours and my birb had got in really bad shape but hes back into full health and I've taking better care of jim since that incident

Ever since my gecko died a little while back, I've been really lonely. He died from multiple un-diagnosed illnesses, and for days wouldn't eat. His illness was un-treatable, and I knew he would die soon. I tried to spend the last few days I knew he had left with jut him. When I came home from doing errands a few days later, he was laying on his floor of his cage. I remember getting him for my birthday, being so excited. Two years later, he's gone. It kills me to see mistreated pets or any animal in bad shape, because it reminds me of the little ball of sunshine I lost forever. Thank you so much for taking care of this little guy. You are a great person!

As someone with 8 axolotls (5 of them rescues), it is so refreshing to see someone who obviously cares and does the proper research. Thank you for doing what you are doing!
How cold do you need the water?

So many people would say “he’s just a stupid reptile” I am animal obsessed and think that every animal is sweet and innocent and deserving of being treated properly. I don’t understand how someone’s twisted heart could look at that skinny, dying, struggling creature and continue to treat him terribly. Thank you for rescuing him!
And the worst part is, that they called it a reptile instead of an amphibian. Plus, what if you were that animal? Them: "Animals don't have fellings" Me: "SHUT UP THEY DO"
Just some friendly advice: if you can, try to use a darker colored container for the cave (instead of white). Marine life, amphibs and reptiles like to hide, and in the wild they tend to do so in darker places where they won't be seen by predators. I just wanted to point it out because the brightness of a white container could give the little guy some unneeded anxiety
I thought they needed darkness because axolotls hate bright light and are sensitive to it.

@@NeoVault_ yes you're right. They prefer dimly lit or dark environments
@@manson0marilyn They're not naturally blind but they can become blind. Albinos have poor eyesight. Even with that condition though, it can still sense external brightness

i went to scottsdale and saw some axolotls at a zoo and I fell IN LOVE with them. they're so cute and they look like cute lil baby dragons!
I literally hate when people just throw away a pet because their ugly or something. In my eyes, every animal is beautiful in its own way. Maybe when I get older I’ll adopt an axolotl. I do love them.

She does use a safe one. She knows waaay too much about pets and fish in general to not to check something before using it in the tank.

*I had a dream last night.* (I wonder if Aquarium Info would read this, I'll be so happy!)
In my dream, I was at my friend's party. We had all just had dinner and it was almost time that the party ended. For the last 10 minutes, me and my friend at the celebration looked around for vending machines. We found one which was filled of candy and begged our parents to get us some. They finally agreed, but when I was just about to put the money in the machine - I noticed something. I ran over to it and realised it was a huge tank containing 2 abandoned axolotls. The place where we were partying was probably a fish shop at first. I beckoned my friend to come over and she did. The second she saw the axolotls, tears ran down her face. We both were crying now - we thought it was a crime to lock animals up for ages and not feed them. They were so skinny that you could see their bones outside of their body. Me and my friend looked around the tank to see if there was a sticker saying that we could buy them. Eventually, we found the sticker and it was only offered for £7 ($9.12) !! We felt very sympathetic for the axolotls and bought them with the money my friend always carried around to see if there was anything she would like to buy. Our parents refused to our choice at first, but we persuaded them eventually and got the axolotls. I had a blue axolotl and my friend had gone for the pink one. We went straight back home, put them in a old, small fish tank we'd never thought we'd use again and fed them lots so that they would become strong again. We loved them and they loved us. I was about to get my phone to text my friend about how happy I was but then... I woke up. It was all a dream.
