If this movie came out after 2016 when anime and weab culture was actually more predominant it would have actually popped off and not flopped like it did because 2008 critics had worse taste than todays game journalists. Sure i can see some cheesy and corny scenes in the movie, its not perfect, but it didnt deserve half the shit it was thrown at back in the day and much less the title of one of the worse live actions of film history.
This is how you do a live action anime, you don't try to make it realistic and bring it to our reality you actually bring the anime into the real world
I honestly would have preferred a speed racer movie series compared to fast and furious since the shit they are doing with those movies are getting to speed racers level of crazy in terms of car stunts and gadgets so imagine if we had a movie series about people doing crazy shit on a fast car compared to a realistic movie series about fast cars becoming less realistic there will be less complaints
Yeah it's definitely not for people with epilepsy, very colorful and flashy especially in the end scenes in the Grand Prix. This Movie gave me so many cool ideas for GTA races.

Most critics never watched an old classic anime. The style, theme and editing was completely lost on them, especially not knowing how goofy and corny the show is.
I can't explain how much this movie speaks to me.... I resonate so deeply. It really speaks of a journey of finding one's purpose in life, transcending limits including politics, corruption, and even one's own ego.... and creating something truly great. That last race brings me CHILLS every time, especially the explosion and the red and white tunnel. Truly remarkable.

It's been a LOOONG dang time since I first heard this and after having JUST watched the film again after discovering RUclips had the film free to watch just now, not only did it make it clear how much THAT film still holds up in so many ways, but it reminded me of how much of an absolute BANGER this song is more than ever! 🤩 It's even more so the case after witnessing that final race go down right before this too!
