Black can be very chic, I just wish it didn’t make me look quite so dead, I wear it mostly with something white or light near my face, plus extra color in blush and lipstick. I’m just one of those normally ill-pale looking people, not pretty-pale, oh well.🙂

Michele, I love that bag and the trousers, especially. I have a black belt with an "L" buckle (from Lafayette), which covers my two initials nicely that I wear with trousers like these. That belt would be beautiful over a knit column dress. I laughed about the weather dilemma. When I moved from NYC to LA, I headed out the door to work (in Century City) in a trench coat, rubber booties and an umbrella -- that was the one and only time. People stared at me as if I had three heads, LOL. We have the same weather here that you have there and I too have adapted my four season wardrobe to two. Loved this! 💖💖

The way I've seen a doubled belt styled is to put the first pass through the belt loops, then leave the second pass out of the loops. If you leave the second pass really loose, it sort of drapes down and sits on your high hip.

Totally agree with the fact that you never have enough black pants! The trench is very cool, but I think that maybe one or two sizes down would fit you better. I get it is oversized but it wont loose the style if you go down.
The Toteme striped silk top reminds me of the iconic David Bowie jumpsuit designed by Kansai Yamamoto. I also just realized there are matching pants and it comes in cream w black stripes too. GORGEOUS!!

I love lightweight silk knits for spanning the seasons, it works well most of the time. We’re still having downright cold weather here in California, but our first heat wave could come at any time. On my one trip to NYC, it wasn’t all that hot for summer, around 82F, but with the very high humidity, that it felt unbearable. When we went to an afternoon theater performance, a huge vapor cloud rose from all the sweaty people, the AC was set at about 60F or even less, we absolutely froze. San Francisco, where I live, is really nice because the humidity is almost always very comfortable, usually 45-55% or so. The East is humid, but the deserts can be too dry for comfort. I’ve spent a lot of time in them as a geologist, and love them, but I always felt parched there and the daily temperature swings can be enormous, especially at high elevations. Our joke as students was always to pack shorts and a down parka, you’ll need both daily (we did). A good sunhat is essential, too.

Any good tailor will be able to shorten the sleeves for you. The easiest way to do it is at the top of the sleeve. Love the bag and the double tour belt, although like you said they usually look better with dresses. However, you could do the first 'tour' through the loops and the second 'tour' left slightly loose so it drapes a bit. Hope you have/had a good weekend away.

Lovely choice!❤ Blouse and trench should be two sizes down, because Toteme fit is in general very loose. I am wearing a 40-42 German but for any toteme clothes I go for 38-40. try the blouse in 40 or even 38 and u will see the Arms will fit perfectly.
I love Toteme, but it’s quite expensive, so I have only a few accessories from them, so far. I really want the Toteme silk “logo” trousers, when I can afford them (it just looks like a pattern, it’s not obvious that it’s a logo). They’re at the top of my “when I get rich” list. We had a family joke when I was a little girl, when I asked for things, like a pizza, or to see a movie, I was told “we’re not rich, you know”, so that morphed into “when we get rich again…” My other brand on this list is Loewe, how I love their items!
I loved the silk blouse. I took a peek online, and I’d also love it with the pants that goes with it. I have long arms. I’ll take it! 😜 The purse is also beautiful, but I only want crossbody, so that wouldn’t work for me.

Michele - You have excellent taste. I learn so much from you. You and I have similar likes and body types. I do think you are wearing the wrong sizes. I love loose fitting clothes, but they can swallow you up and make you look much bigger than you actually are if they are not the correct size and fitted properly. Have you considered using a stylist? My stylist has worked wonders for me. She did not try to change my vibe. She just made wiser choices for me and helped me understand that fit is critical to looking your best, even with loose fitting clothes.
I have to ask how many designer bags do we need, makeup, designer clothes…we can afford them yes, understand having a RUclips channel u have to buy in order to film content… but excess is my new non language. Cheers

I found for me Vegas and Az I chose Linen. Also a great Pashmina wrap . Those cool nights are tricky. Love the blouse
