@Cave Spider I saw a program on RUclips where a troop of chimps hunted and ate monkeys. Well organized and an occasional high protein treat for an otherwise herbivore lifestyle. Technically primates like humans are omnivores and eat plants (fruits, vegetables, roots) as well as insects (not this boy) and animal flesh (birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians and other mammals). My cat sometimes chows down on grass for fiber.
@PUMACRAFT they do use them to peel and open tough fruits, nuts and crustaceans, but mostly it's for threat display and killing rivals' babies. They aren't dangerous to animals much bigger than them as they can't open their mouths wide enough to deliver killing bites, and they're only dangerous to especially vulnerable humans. A real good punch or even a strong slap from a healthy human would make a macaque rethink its life and they know it, they just naturally try and push boundaries to establish dominance and shit like that.
Funny we humans are scared of monkeys now... It’s obvious the monkey knows he is taking a risk going after a human like that but it also knows humans won’t attack back most likely because he’s seen other monkeys do the same and get away with it without getting hurt or chased lol if that was me I would’ve chased after the monkey when it gave me that look...just to show I won’t stand for that and the monkey will know that too...people over there have to take the mantle of top of the food chain back from these wild animals lol I see no point in being scared of monkeys but I do respect them enough to be cautious though because I hear stories of groups of monkeys attacking elderly people and stealing baby’s for giving them slow deaths...sad I need when humans let them do these things and have the monkeys be more then us...and there is a serious monkey population problem there too because tourists feed monkeys 24/7 and when ever it closes or stops being a tourist trap where do you think they are going to go for food next? I ran into a monkey like that in Khaoyai Thailand. I took a picture of him, he lunged at me and I fell over some rocks. He never went after me but I got scratched up pretty badly and my camera broke from the impact.

Had an incident with a baboon at The Cape of Good Hope once - was touring on a Harley and stopped for a bite to eat when this bloody cheeky animal decided it wanted my sandwich; I know they have very large fangs and can be quite dangerous, but when it came towards me, acting with menace and intent, I just went into "berserk" mode and rushed directly at it, swinging my helmet and yelling loudly that I would kill it and tear it's effin' head from it's effin' body. It quickly decided that it was not in it's best interests to continue the "attack" and turned tail. I continued after it until it finally ran away.
