I remember when a wrestler would have a main move and unless it was a PPV or furthers a storyline nobody kicked out of it. Now it takes 25 piledrivers 15 frogsplashes and 5 moonsaults just to beat somebody.

Same here. It was the first wrestling I had ever seen and I couldn’t get enough. When I got to high school I worked ring crew and security for a friend that was running a local promotion. He brought in almost all of the Continental guys. I spent weekends with the Armstrongs, Adrain Street, even Windall Cooley once. It was like a dream come true.

Jim Cornette says that at a fairly recent event, in the locker room, all the boys had their heads buried in their phones and were barely acknowledging each other. He then said, like Dr Tom did, that back in his day, the boys would be laughing, telling jokes, discussing latest sexual conquests, swapping stories and having a good time. Yeah, it’s called building character, which modern wrestlers, and a lot of young people now, don’t have.

Technically, there are some very proficient players who showcase their stuff on tiktok, Instagram and RUclips, but I don’t think they know why they’re playing what they’re playing. I gave up utterly on modern product after WWE decided to take blood money from tyrants and that NWA shitshow with Jim Cornette. Nowadays I look out videos like this, because there are few actual personalities that stand out, and those that do aren't even touching the greats, so I'd prefer to hear about the industry when you had to be tough and you had to have a love of it to last longer than a flash in the pan. Because it's changed so much, and as Tom said "sterile", I highly doubt we'll have the same high grade quality storytelling we have with legends who have been in the guts of the industry and seen it for all it's beauty and ugliness. Getting interviews like this is an important part of the historical record and must be preserved so future generations can see where it came from and what the lifestyle was actually like to live. That's where my enjoyment of it all comes from these days, and that's kinda sad, as it means modern product is aimed at the people who want to watch "sports entertainment" rather than Professional Wrestling.

I barely watch wrestling anymore but since I heard the Wyatt Sick6 debuted I’m gonna start watching as I loved Bray Wyatt and was upset when he died (and had an epileptic grand mal seizure within an hour of hearing about his death and stopped breathing for 6 minutes I was told as average is about 2 minutes by my brother who was with me at the time and he said I was just about to call an ambulance when I started breathing again. He held off as long as possible as he knows I would’ve lost my driving license and since I’m self employed by business would be fucked. Normally I get warnings of petit mals so I’d take 50mg of diazepam which stops me from having a grand mal seizure but this time I had no warnings)

I think most of the wrestling fans in the US and UK have turned off WWE et al by now.
All the wrestling interview channels I see are talking about things that happened in the 90's or earlier because that was when it was really good. What is there to talk about with todays wrestling besides it being a spotfest? There's nothing of interest happening right now. It's an over-scripted, over-sanitised product. Even stuff from 1995, considered to be probably the worst year of the 90's, blows away everything from today.

To the guy given the interview I’m right there with you. And it’s not just change, I can deal with change in wrestling. I started watching in the 80s and I watch wrestling changed a lot from the 80s to 2006 but there isn’t any heart in it anymore. I am so sick of being told this is the greatest error ever because look at all these wrestling promotions that we have today. Yeah we might have six wrestling promotions that people can watch all over the country or all over the world but it still only broken down into two different types of wrestling. WWE which is overly scripted and overly produced and basically a Wanabee movie company and then everyone else does high spot/over choreographed/comedy wrestling. No one can Collin matching the ring based off crowd reaction anymore, the promos are terrible, and they only have Fans No that like that stuff and that also just want to be a part of the show instead of being entertained. I haven’t seen a organic crowd pop in almost 15 years. Everyone wants to come to the wrestling show to sing along and I’m not going to be surprised in the next five years there’s going to be parts of the show that it is a synchronized dance routine that the wrestler in the audience all takes a part of. Meanwhile there are millions of us that would watch a good pro wrestling show if one existed.
