Thank you - the water was lovely in the summer heat. I've heard from people who've done this out of summer and they said they put on a rain jacket as it was chilly! So pleased you liked the video
Wow Caroline, I love your videos of the Madeira Islands, "the Hawaii Islands of the North Atlantic"🌺🌺 with a cool European vibe. With very cool hikes, love them. Keep up with your hard work on your channel, soon you will be up to 10k subscribers. With way to many comments too answer. Cheers 🍨🍨🐵
Aaaaah, 10k feels so far away, but it would be a huge achievement if I get there! Needing to play catch up on the comments with just shy of 4k... but I blame my job for this one. In the UK, our tax funded schools will be inspected every now and again by a body called 'Ofsted' and we've just had them come in to inspect our school. When they come, everything that's not school just dropped and 100% of the focus is on the inspection. It stated off horrible as the stress levels are unreal, but for us at least, the further into the inspection we got, the more excited we became as we could tell it was going really well. Still need to wait for the report to know the outcome. Thankfully it's now our Easter holidays, so a couple of weeks off and a bit of time to catch up with this channel too. I have a small bank of videos already edited and uploaded for scenarios just like this one!
How are you doing mrs Caroline. Happy Easter . Thank you for sharing your trips with us showing us such magnificent landscapes beauty of nature. Hi Khatoon, I am well thank you, and I hope you are too, and thank you for the Easter wishes. I'd heard of this Levada being known as the Kings Levada too, but never got to the bottom of why. I agree with your research when it says there are nice hikes like the Pico to Pico one, but it's nice to also go on an easy walk - much like this one!!
Glad to see that you put your final day on the island to good use. Gotta love a later flight! All the trails look like they are really well sign posted with the direction to follow and distances on display, I love how they keep on top of it all like that. Love how the levadas have gates which controls which communities get the water and which don't - very clever when you think of it. Gotta keep an eye out for those rogue locals who are messing with them though! Shame there was no mighty waterfall at the end but the bit where the water came down as you walked through looked fun - unless you were needing to stay dry for a flight or something! Doh!! Great series, you have opened my eyes to Madeira!
Hi Matt. I often keep an eye out for the flights that depart from the UK earlier in the day (but not too early) so we get an evening, or if lucky, an afternoon in the destination, and then later departure at the end so we get an extra day without the extra cost of accommodation - but then there's always the balance of just how much more expensive is the flight! In the summer, the tiny bit of water that got me from the water fall had evaporated within 5 minutes thankfully, so not too bad for the people sat next to me on the flight 😉 though I have heard from some people that in colder months, they don a rain mac otherwise it'd take too long to dry! So pleased this has opened your eyes up to Madeira - it is so different to the rest of Europe from a geographic POV which made it all the more exciting!
