It's genuinely insane how such a lazy and forgetful person can create such an amazing series. I mean, creating one of the most popular transformations in anime history just because he wanted to be spared of filling in Goku's hair with ink, and completely forgetting about tails by the time the Buu saga rolled around.

It was only getting worse when japanese fans keep refusing to accept gohan as the new main character of dbz. Which is why buu saga feel the most dry. It was written from the start as a break out saga for gohan. However japanese fans keep urging toriyama to bring back goku and the rest is history. This is why the latter part of buu saga feel rushed, because toriyama just want to end the series and move on with his life.

Surprised that you didn't talk about how Kibitoshin unfused in the Dragon Ball Super Manga and thus theorized that Potara Fusion might not be permanent. However, I haven't been keeping up with the manga entirely, so maybe that theory has already been debunked. Still think you should've mentioned it in some way.

Great video, I love the concept of fusion whether its Dragonball or Steven Universe or even the combiner teams and other fusion types in the transformers. I think it is our deesire to see not only cool new combos but also to see our favorite characters join together either positivly or negativly to make something as they say in SU, "Entirely new." I hope we can see more fusions in the future in all these franchises as well as the concept return for other shows, I mean can you imagine a fusion in the Avatar franchise or the buffy verse
On the topic of why Vegito was unfused when inside Buu, Dragon Ball Multiverse uses the theory that since Fat Buu was inside of Super Buu, and that he absorbed a Kai, the Kai unfused Vegito because he thought of him as an abomination considering he was a mortal and did not know why someone of the lower realms used the earrings. Although I just prefer that Buu's insides were the cause of the split. Loved the video
I think it's interesting the more they obtain the power the more of themselves the lose. Namekian doesn't change you, it simply adds. Finger gets more power but it's a new person, for a time. Earring you get the most power but it's "permanent".
I think if there is a real difference between the power up of Fusion Dance and Potara, it's more like multiplication and potency, which is the same as the difference between addition and multiplication. But if there is no such difference, then the fused warrior will be the same. The idea that finger fusion is less powerful because both fusers must be euqal in power is incorrect because this is never ever stated or even implied. This is merely a factor for the consonance of the fusers in order for the fusion to work, just like when both fusers must put an earing on one specific ear for the potara fusion. It's nothing more but a requirement for the mechanic to work.

Geekdom101 Of course we know that Potara is better. It has no time limit and is easier to perform. This does not mean it's more powerful though. Kaioshin said that Vegetto is so strong not because of the potara, but because Goku and Vegeta are rivals. And Goku never said anything about matching the Ki having anything to do with the power of the resulting warrior. Only that the fusion wouldn't work otherwise. For that reason saying that Potara is more powerful than normal fusion is still up in the air.

Namekeian fusion is amazing. Toriyama could have done so much more with that concept. Would have been cool to see more nameks fuse when they realized that they could not beat frieza and his men enable to protect their home.
i need to say this, at 4:30 he says he thinks picollo got stronger from the training and cause kami was so strong. i feel its because demon king picollo and kami were 2 halves of eachother. Piccolo is literally born from demon king piccolo. so its basically kami reverting back to his original existence before they split up
I always figured Old Kai was a more dominant personality than the witch, and Kaioshin/Supereme Kai was more dominant than Kibito, but with Goku and Vegeta, they're both equally as strong-willed and stubborn so both personalities and therefore voices were pushed to the forefront.
In regards to power output, I think Gogeta and Vegetto are even. However, Vegetto has 2 advantages. His fusion doesn't have a time limit, and it doesn't dissolve due to him exerting a great deal of power. This is what makes Vegetto "stronger." I don't trust the Daizenshuu. They basically imply that when Goku was fighting Yakan, he was just as strong as he was when fighting Freeza. A lot of their numbers just don't make sense. Which is why I focus more on the manga and anime. In the anime, old kai said the Potara is more *efficient,* not more powerful. So I'll take it to mean Potara has none of the drawbacks the dance had. Such as requiring 2 beings to do a dance with equal ki, dissolves when the fused being uses too much power and a time limit. And Geekdom, you also said that Goku was "amazed at what he saw" regarding Shin and Kibito's fusion. As if their power was somehow incredible. That isn't true. In the manga, all Goku said when they fused was "wired." Probably because he was surprised they fused so easily. Even after they fused, and offered to join Goku to fight Boo, Old Kai said they'd just be fodder because they weren't much to begin with, referring to them before they fused. So the worriers' power is a big factor for Potara fusion, just like the dance. A good way to compare Potara vs Dance would be to compare Gotenks vs Kabitoshin. Shin is stronger than Goten and Trunks. We don't know how strong Kibito is, but I'd assume he would be close to Shin in power. Though, I'm not sure. So logically speaking, if Shin and Kibito used a fusion that produced a greater power output, they should fair better against Boo than 2 weaker kids using a fusion with a lower power output. (Edit) It seems thanks to Dragon Ball Super, now the Potara has a time limit of 1 hour, and it dissolves quickly if there is too much power being used, just like the dance. (Edit Again) Now it's been confirmed that the Dance and Potara Fusions result in an equal power output for the fusees. So regardless of the method, the power is the same. Looks like my hypothesis was right.
Exactly. If the 2 had to fight, because they're so evenly matched Vegito would definitely outlast Gogeta's existence and win by default. If you put the 2 side by side however, and measured their power it would be exactly the same.

Vegeta and Goku with an unequal power level(Vegito) would be stronger than Super Buu Gohan absorbed. But think about it if Berrus at 100% and Whis 50% fused that would be stronger than Potara right. Eh this is my opinion and I'm not gonna change yours though.

Gogeta is more vegeta ( serious.) Vegito is more goku. (toys around) Its a play on names with personality. Vegito starts with v so you think vegeta would be dominate but goku is . I believe the reason the voices are different is that it was stated that when using potara the more powerful individual spirit takes hold of the form. which is why the Kais all had one voice. They were stronger in spirit than the ones they fused with. But goku and vegeta are basically equally stubborn and high spirited so, both of them took hold in the fusion. Which is also why, even though they knew what they had to do, he was still a bit playful like goku, yet arrogant like vegeta.

Just wanted to confirm this- with potara fusion, whatever form you take before the fusion, you're stuck in that form as a minimum (e.g. If you were SS before fusion you're stuck in that form as a minimum, you can transform up but can't go back to base form)
I think that if Vegito were able to go super saiyan God he would be equal to or very close to beerus. If Vegito went super saiyan blue I think he would beat beerus
There's no way he wouldn't be able to basing off the fact that goku is atleast 70% of Beerus strength considering he was able to inflict damage on him. And going by the fact that whis is 1 1/2 x Beerus. The reason this is signifigent is because in the past a fused chracters base has always been far superior to their strongest transformation or atleast on par with it so that would mean base sayian beyond god Vegito would be atleast as strong as ssg goku, and whis at maximum would be 3 to 4 times stronger then base Vegito (sayian beyond god) and ssg is at least a 10 x multiplier of the sayian beyond god form.
I'm pretty sure both fusions have the same multiplier, potarra is just better because it has no limit in time or power, and vegito is stronger only because vegeta and goku are stronger than goten and trunks, i have the multiplier for fusion as one x the other.
This is inspired by a debate me and a buddy of mine had a few days ago. He insists that Vegito is stronger than Gogeta because of the fusion methods. I, however, disagreed stating that Vegito and Gogeta have equal power levels if anything. I'll get to the main points. Nothing was made "clear" in the manga or the anime that suggests Vegito is stronger than Gogeta or if any fusion multiplier is greater than any other. There just isnt enough info at all. I will say that the Potara fusion is permanent so if these 2 were to fight, being so evenly matched the fight would easily go longer than 30 mins so Vegito would outlast Gogeta by technicality; the Potara fusion isnt more potent, only everlasting. That's what the Old Kai said, "This fusion is better because it lasts longer. We arent debating which fusion is better though, we're debating which fusion PRODUCT is stronger. However, standing side by side, its impossible to conclude that one is stronger than the other. We haven't seen Gogeta in enough action and what we did see consisted of a non-canon quick and easy victory against a vastly strong opponent. Until we understand the limits of both of their power, its dumb to say one is more powerful than the other, but i cant really blame those that say Vegito is stronger; after all we've seen more of him and he's canon. One last point you and my buddy made is that to fuse with the fusion dance, both users must have equal power levels, therefore because thats not the case with the Potaras, it must yield a better product. That's not the case. Once the 2 have fused via the dance the new being is free to power up to his heart's content. That will cut the time limit of course, a shortened time limit doesnt have an effect on a power level, only how long it can be maintained. God bless anyone that read all that lol.

I'd say one advantage Namekian Assimilation has over Fusion Dance and Potara Earrings is that it don't defuse the merged beings once they're inside Buu's body (i.e. Piccolo).
Potara fusion is actually really cool... like more cool than what we already think of it to be. Think about it. A way to fuse ANY 2 people together to become one. You could fuse Piccolo with Gohan or Chiaotzu and Nail or something.
Something of note: While much different, there is a fourth fusion-Buu. Fat Buu is a proper fusion of Kid Buu and the Grand Supreme Kai, with Kai as the dominant/equal personality. Super Buu flips this with Kid Buu being the dominant personality

Does Piccolo + Kami - Nail = Frieza? does the Whole Piccolo match up to Frieza naturally, or does he still need Nail's power too?
question, I can think of only one flaw for that argument. How strong was Janemba even? If he was on par or greater than buuhan then we must ask if the real weakness of metamoran is just the time limit, also, gotenks was in fact a ridiculous multiplier so we have no proof one way or another even with just "canon" characters just from lack of conclusive equals fusing through both methods. no offense, I'm just curious what your argument is for this point.

I think it is our deesire to see not only cool new combos but also to see our favorite characters join together either positivly or negativly to make something as they say in SU, "Entirely new." I hope we can see more fusions in the future in all these franchises as well as the concept return for other shows, I mean can you imagine a fusion in the Avatar franchise or the buffy verse

On the topic of why Vegito was unfused when inside Buu, Dragon Ball Multiverse uses the theory that since Fat Buu was inside of Super Buu, and that he absorbed a Kai, the Kai unfused Vegito because he thought of him as an abomination considering he was a mortal and did not know why someone of the lower realms used the earrings. Although I just prefer that Buu's insides were the cause of the split. Loved the video

I think it's interesting the more they obtain the power the more of themselves the lose. Namekian doesn't change you, it simply adds. Finger gets more power but it's a new person, for a time. Earring you get the most power but it's "permanent".
I think if there is a real difference between the power up of Fusion Dance and Potara, it's more like multiplication and potency, which is the same as the difference between addition and multiplication. But if there is no such difference, then the fused warrior will be the same. The idea that finger fusion is less powerful because both fusers must be euqal in power is incorrect because this is never ever stated or even implied. This is merely a factor for the consonance of the fusers in order for the fusion to work, just like when both fusers must put an earing on one specific ear for the potara fusion. It's nothing more but a requirement for the mechanic to work.

Of course we know that Potara is better. It has no time limit and is easier to perform. This does not mean it's more powerful though. Kaioshin said that Vegetto is so strong not because of the potara, but because Goku and Vegeta are rivals. And Goku never said anything about matching the Ki having anything to do with the power of the resulting warrior. Only that the fusion wouldn't work otherwise. For that reason saying that Potara is more powerful than normal fusion is still up in the air.

Namekeian fusion is amazing. Toriyama could have done so much more with that concept. Would have been cool to see more nameks fuse when they realized that they could not beat frieza and his men enable to protect their home.
i need to say this, at 4:30 he says he thinks picollo got stronger from the training and cause kami was so strong. i feel its because demon king picollo and kami were 2 halves of eachother. I always figured Old Kai was a more dominant personality than the witch, and Kaioshin/Supereme Kai was more dominant than Kibito, but with Goku and Vegeta, they're both equally as strong-willed and stubborn so both personalities and therefore voices were pushed to the forefront.

In regards to power output, I think Gogeta and Vegetto are even. However, Vegetto has 2 advantages. His fusion doesn't have a time limit, and it doesn't dissolve due to him exerting a great deal of power. This is what makes Vegetto "stronger."
I don't trust the Daizenshuu. They basically imply that when Goku was fighting Yakan, he was just as strong as he was when fighting Freeza. A lot of their numbers just don't make sense. Which is why I focus more on the manga and anime. In the anime, old kai said the Potara is more *efficient,* not more powerful. So I'll take it to mean Potara has none of the drawbacks the dance had. Such as requiring 2 beings to do a dance with equal ki, dissolves when the fused being uses too much power and a time limit.
And Geekdom, you also said that Goku was "amazed at what he saw" regarding Shin and Kibito's fusion. As if their power was somehow incredible. That isn't true. In the manga, all Goku said when they fused was "wired." Probably because he was surprised they fused so easily. Even after they fused, and offered to join Goku to fight Boo, Old Kai said they'd just be fodder because they weren't much to begin with, referring to them before they fused. So the worriers' power is a big factor for Potara fusion, just like the dance.
A good way to compare Potara vs Dance would be to compare Gotenks vs Kabitoshin. Shin is stronger than Goten and Trunks. We don't know how strong Kibito is, but I'd assume he would be close to Shin in power. Though, I'm not sure. So logically speaking, if Shin and Kibito used a fusion that produced a greater power output, they should fair better against Boo than 2 weaker kids using a fusion with a lower power output.
(Edit) It seems thanks to Dragon Ball Super, now the Potara has a time limit of 1 hour, and it dissolves quickly if there is too much power being used, just like the dance.
(Edit Again) Now it's been confirmed that the Dance and Potara Fusions result in an equal power output for the fusees. So regardless of the method, the power is the same. Looks like my hypothesis was right.
Exactly. If the 2 had to fight, because they're so evenly matched Vegito would definitely outlast Gogeta's existence and win by default. If you put the 2 side by side however, and measured their power it would be exactly the same.

Vegeta and Goku with an unequal power level(Vegito) would be stronger than Super Buu Gohan absorbed. But think about it if Berrus at 100% and Whis 50% fused that would be stronger than Potara right. Eh this is my opinion and I'm not gonna change yours though.

I believe the reason the voices are different is that it was stated that when using potara the more powerful individual spirit takes hold of the form. which is why the Kais all had one voice. They were stronger in spirit than the ones they fused with. But goku and vegeta are basically equally stubborn and high spirited so, both of them took hold in the fusion. Which is also why, even though they knew what they had to do, he was still a bit playful like goku, yet arrogant like vegeta.

Just wanted to confirm this- with potara fusion, whatever form you take before the fusion, you're stuck in that form as a minimum (e.g. If you were SS before fusion you're stuck in that form as a minimum, you can transform up but can't go back to base form)

There's no way he wouldn't be able to basing off the fact that goku is atleast 70% of Beerus strength considering he was able to inflict damage on him. And going by the fact that whis is 1 1/2 x Beerus. The reason this is signifigent is because in the past a fused chracters base has always been far superior to their strongest transformation or atleast on par with it so that would mean base sayian beyond god Vegito would be atleast as strong as ssg goku, and whis at maximum would be 3 to 4 times stronger then base Vegito (sayian beyond god) and ssg is at least a 10 x multiplier of the sayian beyond god form.

I'm pretty sure both fusions have the same multiplier, potarra is just better because it has no limit in time or power, and vegito is stronger only because vegeta and goku are stronger than goten and trunks, i have the multiplier for fusion as one x the other.

This is inspired by a debate me and a buddy of mine had a few days ago. He insists that Vegito is stronger than Gogeta because of the fusion methods. I, however, disagreed stating that Vegito and Gogeta have equal power levels if anything. I'll get to the main points. Nothing was made "clear" in the manga or the anime that suggests Vegito is stronger than Gogeta or if any fusion multiplier is greater than any other. There just isnt enough info at all. I will say that the Potara fusion is permanent so if these 2 were to fight, being so evenly matched the fight would easily go longer than 30 mins so Vegito would outlast Gogeta by technicality; the Potara fusion isnt more potent, only everlasting. That's what the Old Kai said, "This fusion is better because it lasts longer. We arent debating which fusion is better though, we're debating which fusion PRODUCT is stronger. However, standing side by side, its impossible to conclude that one is stronger than the other. We haven't seen Gogeta in enough action and what we did see consisted of a non-canon quick and easy victory against a vastly strong opponent. Until we understand the limits of both of their power, its dumb to say one is more powerful than the other, but i cant really blame those that say Vegito is stronger; after all we've seen more of him and he's canon. One last point you and my buddy made is that to fuse with the fusion dance, both users must have equal power levels, therefore because thats not the case with the Potaras, it must yield a better product. That's not the case. Once the 2 have fused via the dance the new being is free to power up to his heart's content. That will cut the time limit of course, a shortened time limit doesnt have an effect on a power level, only how long it can be maintained. God bless anyone that read all that lol.

The reason of Goku and Vageta defused inside of buu is because vs Goku black and Zamasu they say it’s only permanent with gods. So their time simply ran out when they got inside buu. Coincidence I think not

Awesome Analysis. Gonna subscribe. Yeah Goku hinted that Buus magic was powerful to stop any form of the Kais magic this could have been why even the strong Kais were not able to seal in up before being defeated as Im pretty sure they at least tried.
I'd say one advantage Namekian Assimilation has over Fusion Dance and Potara Earrings is that it don't defuse the merged beings once they're inside Buu's body (i.e. Piccolo).
For the kai’s potara fusion, having only the one voice, it could have something to do with it being a permanent fusion.
Potara fusion is actually really cool... like more cool than what we already think of it to be. Think about it. A way to fuse ANY 2 people together to become one. You could fuse Piccolo with Gohan or Chiaotzu and Nail or something.
Something of note: While much different, there is a fourth fusion-Buu. Fat Buu is a proper fusion of Kid Buu and the Grand Supreme Kai, with Kai as the dominant/equal personality. Super Buu flips this with Kid Buu being the dominant personality

Does Piccolo + Kami - Nail = Frieza? does the Whole Piccolo match up to Frieza naturally, or does he still need Nail's power too?

If he was on par or greater than buuhan then we must ask if the real weakness of metamoran is just the time limit, also, gotenks was in fact a ridiculous multiplier so we have no proof one way or another even with just "canon" characters just from lack of conclusive equals fusing through both methods. no offense, I'm just curious what your argument is for this point.
