- Carlo Acutis was an Italian teenager who loved video games and spread the word of God using the internet. He died of leukemia in 2006 and has since been credited with two miracles. Pope Francis could convene a meeting of cardinals to affirm Acutis’ canonization by the end of 2025. NBC News’ Marissa Parra reports on what this could mean for the church’s attempts to recruit the next generation.

Doctors that go to war zones are saints, in my humble opinion
So what did he do? You report a story of him credited with two miracles and don't even say what the miracles even are?
A girl fell off her bike and suffered head trauma that required brain surgery and was given a low chance of survival. Her mother and the mother’s secretary prayed to Carlo, and the mother made a pilgrimage to Carlo’s tomb 6 days after the accident to pray there. That same day, the daughter began to breath spontaneously, and 10 days after that, a CAT scan showed that the hemorrhage had disappeared, and she was moved to rehabilitation therapy about a month later.
@@MrMdprosser Thanks for sharing, I appreciate that :)
Miracles need to be investigated thoroughly so they're kept secret for that reason.
Carlo hear our prayers
@@SantanaCampbell The investigation is done secretly the miracles themselves are known.
As a stage 4 breast cancer patient, it's hard to believe in miracles. I know of women half my age with new babies being diagnosed with this disease. Small children too. It's never "fair." There's never "enough" time with our loved ones. We're all here on borrowed time, and it's an honor to spend even a day alive in the universe. We can only help in this lifetime. It's cruel to think God chooses me to have good results from my treatment instead of countless others dying from the same diseases? Why am I more "worthy" of this? It makes no sense to think God favors and blesses only some of us like that.
How did anyone even think of praying to him for miracles?
I heard you can reach him by email.
It's biblical hence God did
It's the EXACT SAME AS ASKING YOUR BIBLE STUDY BRO TO "PRAY REAL HARD"
He was able to heal two people but not himself?
God's will
Like Padre Pio said just before his death: My true work will begin after my death
-Darth Plagueis the Wise.
@@Phlebz Maybe it was God's will that the two people he healed were supposed to die.
According to another comment, at least one of the miracles occurred after his death- his mother & her assistant prayed to Carlo regarding a child’s recent traumatic brain injury as a result of a bike accident, and the same day his mom made a pilgrimage to his tomb and prayed for healing, the girl began to spontaneously breathe on her own. Then 10 days later, her CT scans showed no sign of hemorrhage, and she was released from the hospital and into rehabilitation about a month later.
he helped heal two people? how exactly?
I understand comments complaining about abuses within the Church, but I do not understand hatred towards a religion. No matter what religion, there should be no hate towards it. I cannot believe how much hatred comments there are towards Catholic’s beliefs. Many are misinformed too. It is sickening. People need to do research. With an organization around for 2000 years, there will be scandals, but that does not take away from the right Catholics have to practice their religion without constant hate. I cannot imagine any other religion having this much hate.
So basically the church is using this to become viral 😂
REMEMBERING THOSE WHO SACRIFICED 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Oh, Jesus, help us from these false idols
Jesus is one too 🤦🏻
@@SGALAXIA Jesus is GOD! Carlo just gets the assists.
@@SGALAXIA the devil wants us to come away from God so saying that God is a false idol is a very easy way of him destroying our faith
@@AGiantTalkingLizard
That is a weak argument. To say that "the devil wants us to come away from God so saying that God is a false idol is a very easy way of him destroying our faith," doesn't refute the fact that Jesus or God isn't an idol. This is a circular argument that leads nowhere toward natural truths.
Revelation 19:10
10 Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold firmly to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
If a sinless angel refused worship, what kind of blasphemy is it to worship/pray to a human?
Good point. Sadly the current pope is the very antithesis of what a pope should be. He'll use anything to get more people into the church. He'll never act on the churches being burned down though or help persecuted Christians around the world but he'll kiss nigers feet. Only God / Jesus deserve to be worshipped.
Saints are not to be worshipped, but asked for intercession. You're basically asking them to pray for you. "the twenty-four elders [the leaders of the people of God in heaven] fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints" (Rev. 5:8). “An angel came and stood at the altar [in heaven] with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne; and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God" (Rev. 8:3-4).
attracting more young boys to repeat history... nice
😞
New marketing ploy I’m guessing.
Patron saint of pokemon
Recruiting people like a cult
Playing video games is not a miracle.
I guess we are going to pray the missiles away.
“The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult; and left untried.”

Is that necessary? OMG
Yes. OMG
From an old agnostic in 🇨🇦 , Yes . Now more than ever .
People always think to become a saint you have to do heroic deeds of great import Like Gandalf, Aragorn fighting of Evil that can destroy the world where in fact the most unremarkable person can be one just like Frodo or a Sam. Lol (I apologize for the Lord the rings comparisons). Saint Therese of Liseoux, the youngest Doctor of the church, expounded this on her philosophy of the little way. Doing the smallest actions with great love is the path to Sainthood. in non christian /catholic terms You don't have to wait for earth shattering events to seize the opportunity for greatness start with the smallest things. Don't let perfection get in the way of what is good enough.

You and 5 other people do not constitute the living.
Isn’t that how canonization works?
Its not a cult Catholics are free to come and go as they please
Next week, Saint Logan Paul and the Incorruptible Sister Minaj
No worries, they'll never be canonized.
Carlo Acutis ♥️✝️🕊️
The young need a SAINT……..I prepare 7 year olds for their First Holy Communion. When we cover the subject of God’s Saints…..We learn Saints are ordinary people who do extraordinary things✝️🕊️ WE ARE ALL SAINTS IN PROGRESS🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I feel uneasy any time children are near priests.
Me too. Should not be allowed alone with them.
Far more kids are abused by public school teachers.
They aint even safe in school either
With good reason.
May Pope Francis bless him spiritually i wish I could meet him.
Alot of ignorant people in this thread firing shots when they dont have an utter clue when it comes to the One True Catholic faith!
@SYMBJ It's a universal covenant between God and all of mankind. Now it's up to man if he wishes to accept or not
So are you telling me that dead⚰️⚰️💀💀 Carlos is credited with healing 2 person.
That's a low bar to qualify for a saint.😂😳😂
the good nicu doctors and nurses who keep the bad ones from hurting kids are the real saints
It is likely that those who witnessed the miracles also prayed to Jesus Christ, even to the Blessed Mother, perhaps to the other saints, too. How did they conclude that it was Carlo who did the miracles? I have nothing against the boy. He seems very nice to me. I just find this move by the church uncomfortable and strange. If that is their standard, then there are many others who should be declared saints immediately.
Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for us ❤️
Bl. Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
Girl please lol
I can tell you didn’t do well in school.
This.... is odd... What did he do exactly because I mean there are so many people in this World who are Angels... Gifted Spirits... I mean yah he could have done something but its still odd they are doing this... Religion is just... so outdated to what true Spirituality IS!!
Once and for all, can we agree the Catholic Church has "Jumped the Shark"?
Let's see video evidence of said "miracles."
It's amazing how the number of "miracles" dropped when the camera was invented and people started saying "Pics or it didn't happen."
If you fall for these fairy tales, then you deserve to have your money stolen from you every Sunday.
Question: what is this religion and how does it work?
NBC butchered the explanation
@@SPEKTR_93 According to my research and Google Scholar, this religion follows Roman Catholicism. A saint is an individual whose believed to be in heaven and others should model themselves as such. Thus, saints are not idols but "mentors" on how people should live their lives. As a result, saints are not worshipped.
Praise God! 🙏🙏🙏
God bless him ✝️❤️🔥🛐
This is just hilarious.

Millions of people in skinny jeans rejoice!
Or baggy, both baggy and skinny jeans were hailed by millennials just one the younger half and the other the elders.
The gospel is simple. --Jesus Christ, who is God's Son, died on the cross for the sins of every person. He was buried and rose again three days later. --Eternal life is a free gift … received, not earned-by faith alone in Christ alone. --Jesus said in John 6:47. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me hath everlasting life. --Once saved, forever saved. Salvation can never be lost! --Trust Jesus alone and forever live.
Succinctly said. Amen.
Saints are intercessors. Why do we need intercessors? Because we are not perfect, our faith is not perfect? But these intercessors have faith far stronger than us, and their intercession to God on our behalf is most likely to be more successful than our own intercession for ourselves.
You read a life story of any Saint to get an idea of the strength of their conviction.
