"I could talk to Peter Hitchens for hours".
Well, there's definitely an audience for it. Get stuck in, Nige.
Absolutely, such diametrics, with a desire for a largely similar outcome. Great stuff.
But yet he got only 10 minutes?!
Out of say two hours you would speak for fifteen minutes
Really hope Nigel brings him back. Fascinating discussions.
@@thegrandmuftiofwakanda This is a news channel, not a podcast. Maybe Farage needs a podcast.
this segment needs to be expanded immediately into a bigger slot
Agreed. Tucker Carlson has a new show over in the US (Tucker Carlson Originals, or something similar) and it occupies an hour's slot in the schedule so it would be great to see far more time alotted to this type of chat.
Yes i like to listen to both these two , its too short and Nigel needs to be a little less shouty and calm down, may be because he is trying to cram as much in, in a short conversation.
Long form podcasts are doing so well and this is the opposite. This subject matter needed at least an hour
@@oliverclements5011 Yawn.

The thing I love most about Peter Hitchens is he truly formulates his own opinion on every single topic and will express it, regardless of public opinion or who he is talking to.

This section needed to be a lot longer; hell, give hitchens his own show. He fits the GB news bill of representing original viewpoints more than almost anyone else
That would be fantastic.
They didn't even get on to lockdowns as Nigel promised. This definitely needed to be longer and go into a lot more detail, especially the differences between these two men's opinions. Could have been fascinating.
How is Gaullism original?
@Stacey Raven Possibly not, but he articulates views held by many ordinary people.
Original, lol
Comments here reveal on thing. Peter Hitchens needs more air time.
This could have and maybe should have lasted a couple of hours. Bring him back please.
Make it a monthly special.
I find both of them crushing bores, one because he is a crook and the other because he has made his reputation by melancholy. Every man out of his humour goes for a Burton.
Nigel: desperately trying to find middle ground
Peter: I disagree
He's always just been a professional contrarian. No consistency. Saying how bad jabs are then took it just to get on a plane. What a plank.
@@stevenborg102 Im a cfually a big fan p hitchens but I do have a laugh at his argumentativeness if that's a word
@@stevenborg102 Well getting a SHOT of vaccine isn't a particularly ideological thing. Why is a Covid vaccine politicized, was getting a polio vaccine controversial?
Other than this example though, I think Peter Hitchens is pretty principled.
@@stevenborg102 I've missed him saying how jabs are bad. Could you point me at some content on that?
@@daviddestefanis2989 Because it isnt a vaccine and they are manipulating us by saying it is.
Calling it a vaccine gets emergency use authorisation. Calling it a vaccine has positive connotations with the public.
Experimental jab is what it is, and would make people think twice about the lack of longitudinal impact data on human health. We are already seeing spiralling cases of pericarditis in young males.
Think Thalidomide. People have short memories.
Talking Pints is just brilliant. I like the open debates and the wide variation of guests that comes on. Farage is just prime time on and hosts a grown-up discussion. Wish it was a bit longer. Well done Farage, well done GBNews.

I whole heartedly agree. Possibly even the whole 60 mins
Hitchens should have his own programme on GB news.

GB has shown it can be done. This needs to spawn similar in other western countries, fast.
There are a lot of long form interviews with him on RUclips if you search his name.

Peter Hitchens didn't turn up to fit in with GB News he came to give his own opinions, fair play.

10 minutes for a conversation between Nigel Farage and Peter Hitchens? Come on guys, we need an hour segment at least. And I'd suggest more than one!
This was excellent. If anyone at GBN is reading this: PLEASE HAVE PETER HITCHENS ON TALKING POINTS AGAIN. A regular spot would be brilliant.

@@garyhendrie4001 Even better.
I completely disagree, if this interview is anything to go by Hitched talks a lot but says nothing.
I think in fairness to Farage, he would not have been bothering with the dinghies floating over from France if he was a purely economic conservative.
Perhaps he is involved in lifesavers , a rather quaint term for life jackets
this singular ,unsung , selflessness , if true ,should be recognised ,bless him !
You know Hitchens is hitting the nail on the head because usually his articles in the Mailonline have the comments moderated.
Pretty much all Mailonline comments sections are moderated now. For a paper that is supposed to advocate for free speech, they sure don't practice what they preach!
Daily Mail is essentially a left wing paper pretending to be right wing, especially with that loathsome idiot Piers Morgan involved. Controlled opposition!
I wrote plenty against this channel with high comments and likes not once have I been moderated?
Mick Hucknall I guess they don't want advertiser boycotts. I'm talking about money money.
Nothing to do with the fact that great swathes of the country think he's a loathsome, lying piece of shit that has done huge amounts of damage to the country that they love and the MoL know what level of abuse he'll get for it, then?
? Hitchens pieces never have comments enabled on Mail Online.
Peter Hitchens has never been a dull listen, though we don't share a great deal of parity in our views. I'm a few decades younger so perhaps my cynicism has yet to undergo it's full marination! His voice however is unquestionably an important one, the introduction didnt do him much justice, he's more than a journalist, he's a polemicist. Whatever you think of him, his patriotism has never been in doubt. Courageous man. This is fast becoming a decent segment on British news, who'd have thought?
Very well said
And then he capitulated to the entirely false jab narrative
Agree!

I love the fact Hitchens is honest about his former opinions. He often gets smeared and dismissed because of them, but it is the mark of an intelligent fellow who can change his mind with honesty.
Tuned in to see Peter Hitchens having a cup of tea and being awkward to Nigel Farage, I wasn’t disappointed.

People say a lot about Farage, but here, in front of an audience, with a pint, he has a chat and thrashes it out with a critic, while giving his critic a platform.
Although he is a populist (presenting simple solutions to complicated problems), and plays to the electorate's baser instincts, this programme is decent.

The man IS the referendum and it went his way wtf does he have to stick around for? 20 years of being hounded by every powerful and influential body, leading two political parties, standing in EU parliament and precipitating a referendum that he won is somehow not enough? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ngl, Farage and “talking pints” segment is the only reason I watch anything GB News related
GB News is better - far better than the awful sell out BBC
You should watch more and support this invaluable new centre right channel
GB News not fulfilling either its promises or potential unfortunately. They promised to go where other news channels wouldn't and they just haven't done that. All they seem to have done is to allow presenters to air their pov and while it's a step in the right direction I would like to see more coverage of "taboo" subjects, for instance, medical and scientific discussions on alternative treatments to the covid vaccine. The fact that they haven't - or discussed anything else which is "controversial" indicates to me that this channel is censored just the same as all our news. They need to open that door Peter Hitchens was talking about, and walk through it.
@@Windy888City Relaunch next month. Criticism is good, but don't write it off. They are aware of what you are, not stupid, early days, adjustments coming.
You have to watch Neil Oliver, Dan Wooten mark Dolan and Andrew Doyle my friend, they to are patriot's. 🇬🇧💪
Legends
Hitchen's says he did not vote for Brexit, but the big smile on his face, when he was interviewed on the BBC, the day after the vote was great to see!
He was very happy that morning alright!!
Oh yeah, I had forgotten that. Thanks, his answer to that question felt vaguely unsatisfactory but I think now I get it.
That is because he wanted the UK to go down the Norway route but he is not smiling now is he?! 🤣
Well, he had a good ol' pint of Schadenfreude, it's about the small blessings and all.
Well if he did vote for brexit, he's not cheer-leading for it now
I’m leftish- but enjoy Hitchens. It’s always good to hear well formed alternative views rather than just cheerleading.
Peter’s views on drug legislation are pre-historic and completely illogical. It surprises me how intelligent people like Hitchens think that a war on drugs is the best way to reduce health issues and maximise rehabilitation.
What?
Starts the interview stating how important liberty is to him as a national value. Later on; send everyone to jail for possession
This was just a preamble. These are two heavyweights deserving of an hour minimum.
I have learned so much from Peter Hitchens - his intelligence, knowledge, eloquence, bravery and sincerity have been a major inspiration 👏👏👏
Same here. I was not quite a Trotskyist, but I did experience the same change.
Finally something worth watching.
Only 11 minutes? We need a 3 hour session with pints and tea. Kind of like Joe Rogan podcast but with old British gents!
I like some of Joe Rogan's segments, but nothing beats old British gents!

Pity his brother isn't still around....
I think they would be getting closer politically with every passing day....
But not on religion....
In hindsight I think I prefer Peter more now.
Christopher was charismatic and also provided a lot to think about, but nowadays I can see that I was convinced a bit too easily by his wit and charm.
Not a fan, he was a complete left, nihilistic and pro wars in the middle east
@@CoffeeConnected CH was brilliant as a debate comment but it's difficult to tell if the typical blend of his witt and today's politics would have created the type of magic we remember.
@@galshaine2018 he would have grown with the times , he was a very observant man . Much missed 🥃
@@audraperkins3451 That's a possibility. Another is that he would have sided with some aspects of the woke movement in which case his final accord would have been remembered as a disappointment.
Great stuff ,not long enough
He's so right about the Conservative party with Cameron and Osbourne.
and Boris. Boris is a kalergi globalist who wants mass immigration and doesnt want the UK to remain a Christian country.
If you're a conservative. Never vote for the conservative party.
And Theresa May.
And Boris, May, Duncan Smith, Hague, Howard, Thatcher, Major etc, etc, etc
